“Best value for the price”
This is my second time I stayed in this hotel in two years. Location is great near local and chain restaurant and steps away from the Nile. The hotel is located few yards away from the Sheraton (one of the oldest and most luxurious hotels in Cairo) which speaks about the location. The Metro is less than 5 minutes walk, but Tahrir Sq is quite a hike. The breakfast was not bad at all. The staff was really helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a clean convenient location without any perks, this is your place. The bathroom was clean and modern (most important to me) and the room had a mini fridge that was very useful in keeping our water and snacks cool. The beds are a little hard but they were comfortable enough.
“Good Hotel for the price”
I stayed 4 nights and was overall happy here. The room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was very good. Staff was good. It is on the opposite side of the bridge from downtown, so a bit of a walk from most sites (or taxi ride) but worth it to get out of the craziness of downtown Cairo. I also used the tour services of the shop a few doors down and they were fair and no pressure. My problem with the room was not enough electric outlets to recharge my phone, etc. And then the last day when I left for the airport the bell hop got a cab for me and told me the rate (a bit less than what I was expecting) but when I got to the airport the taxi driver got mad when I gave him the fare and told me it was more. Don't know if the hotel staff gave me the wrong price or the taxi driver was just trying to get more money...
“Dont get high expectations”
Actually I wouldn't totally not recomment the hotel because it depends on the guest's budget and what they expect or need. for us because we were on vacation and most of the time out of the hotel, we just needed a place to get a mid day rest and sleep at night,,the hotel location is excellent though the surrounding is very noisy especially in the morning, u dont need to ask for a wake up call because every single egyptian passing by the hotel on his way to work will make sure to wake u up by hooting once they get close to the hotel:( The rooms were not very clean (we changed several) especially the bathroom beside the strange experience we faced having the toilet seat attached to the wall from its left side, so we had to fight with the wall of how much of the toilet seat we can sit on, also the detergents they use in cleaning has a very strong smell for somebody with a strong sense of smell can be disastrous! Breakfast though wasn't bad, they had the continental breakfast and it was fine in general.
“no frills, no kidding”
ok for short stay
“Friendly, clean and convenient”
The hotel was friendly, clean and convenient. I don't like to spend much on a room since I intend to be out & about as much as possible. The only problem with this hotel was that there is another Concord that is better known to the taxi drivers, so they sometimes tried to take us to the other (unrelated) one up north! We ended up telling taxis to go to the National Museum. Once there, we instructed them to drive south to the next big intersection, then turn right. That always got us home. Besides being about a mile from the National Museum, it is also close to Metro stations, a great fast-food place & good bakery. The restaurant served a fine breakfast & tasty dinners, the staff always had a "sabak el nour" for us, and the beds were clean & comfortable.
“not recommended”
Surly staff. Musty rooms. Broken air con.
“Low price, adequate to my needs.”
You cant beat Dokki for the price. The rooms are by no means luxury, but if you're paying $25 a night for a hotel in the middle of Cairo, you arent shopping for luxury. The TV is essentially useless and the beds are small, but the place is clean, safe, and if you tip your cleaning ladies -like you should-, theyll take extra special care of you, even leaving little towel sculptures for you as a thank you. Its not the Ritz, but it is absolutely adequate. Do not book cabs or tours with the front desk. There is a tour place just outside and to the left of the place called Rosetta. Go there and ask for Emad, he is the extremely friendly brother of the two who own the shop. They arent cheap, but they wont rip you off or sneak in hidden charges either, the guides are friendly and helpful, and the advice is good. Honesty is a rare commodity in a city like Cairo. If you want to eat, go left out of the building to the road next to the gas station, go left down that road and you will find a market with good prices and a nice, clean restaurant called Tikka. Neither of these establishments will try to rip you off or pressure sell you. Cairo can be a fun place. Just do your homework beforehand, and dont let your cab drivers pressure you into leaving them a huge tip. Give them what you think is fair and be done. Oh, and always ride with your bags, do not put them in the trunk. This is true of travel anywhere.
“I will look for different hotel”
It is only for young people with ni family. the hotel is like Motel with lower quality service.
“Very Disappointed”
The lobby and restaurant areas were very nice and squeaky clean; however, it seems these areas are the only areas that ever receive any attention. The rooms look like they haven't been updated since the last pharoh was in Egypt. The carpet was so nasty that one wouldn't want to go barefoot at all, and the bathtub had hairs all over it. The upside of this hotel was the staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurant was very good at an affordable price.
“It gets the job done”
This hotel is everything you would expect a 3 star hotel to be. It is clean, most of the staff is friendly. There is no air conditioning and the rooms can get a bit stuffy.
