“Pretty good, for an airport hotel”

Better than I expected, and far better than other 3 star hotels in Egypt. Nice pool/garden area. Close enough to Terminal 1 that I walked across parking lot to check in for my flight at 2:00 am.

“Convenient to Cairo Airport, western-style chain hotel”

The Novotel near Cairo airport was convenient for one night stay between legs of business/tourist trip to Egypt. The hotel sent a van for me from arrival hall at midnight when called by information desk. Check-in was fine and the room was quiet despite proximity to the airport. My room was adequate, clean, up to US standards for chain hotel.

“No travel in curfew”

We used this hotel as the plane arrived in Cairo during the curfew hours. It is very convenient for the airport. Staff were helpful.

“Very convenient”

Only 5 minutes from the arrivals hall with their shuttle bus outside waiting to pick me up. A regular shuttle from the hotel to the departures hall every half hour.

“Great location near airport and nice ammenities.”

It is not that convenient of a location from downtown Cairo and the sites, but it is a wonderful place to stay before you fly out of Cairo. The staff was great, there was a free 24 hr airport shuttle and the pool was very nice.

“great choice”

Great service, great location to catch outgoing flights, reasonable cost for room and meals. Beds are real firm - uncomfortably hard. No accessible bathroom.

“Novotel OK if you need an easy return to the airport for a morning flight”

The Novotel was reasonably clean for a hotel in a third world country. The pickup service was very helpful, and the shuttle service back to the airport the next morning was acceptable. It is a bit pricey for Egypt, but the location and convenience made up for it. If you are just staying the night, need a fairly "hassle free" hotel, and don't mind paying twice what you would in town for that, the Novotel is quite acceptable.

“Great for Quick Airport travel”

Very clean hotel and extremely easy to get to, about 5 minutes from airport. Flew into the Cairo Airport and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a free Novotel shuttle to pick us up. We were told they come by about every 20 minutes. Also had to fly back out early the next morning and shuttle was ready at the hotel. Definitely a plus not having to deal with a taxi driver!

“Location: A+; everything else: C”

The advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the airport (<10 minutes door to door by shuttle) and that it has a free shuttle to and from the airport, departing regularly. When you get to the airport, just go outside and you will eventually see the shuttle, which comes every 20-30 minutes. No need for a reservation. I stayed somewhere else (Nile Hotel) for most of my vacation. I chose Novotel for the last night because I had an early morning flight and didn't want the stress of getting to the airport on time. As it turns out, Cairo doesn't have a lot of early morning traffic because businesses tend to open later than they do in the U.S. The lobby is nice enough. The hallways are pretty shabby, with a nursing-home feel. The room is standard and was clean. There is no business center with Internet access. If you bring your own computer, you can plug it into a wired (not wireless) connection for a rather high fee. I did this to check-in online to my flight. There is no public printer, but the check-in staff offered to let me email the PDF of the online boarding pass to them, and then they printed it for me. A fairly decent continental breakfast is included in the price.
