“Wonderful view of the Nile”
Sheraton was nice. Our balcony view was great. We stayed in Nefertiti Tower, the newer tower of the sheraton. It was the last days of Ramadan so we really spent quality time in the room with the exception of the our visit to the pyramids and the sphinx. WARNING.The people will try to beat you out of more money than their services are worth.Overall we had a great trip but one incident made me angry. We rented a camel and a horse and we were quoted 200 US dollars for each person. As we took off for our tour we asked some other tourist how much they were charged and the same people we rented from charged them 100 US per person. After reading him his rights we only ended paying 90 US.Also say NO to anything given to you in the streets especially at the pyramids.A guy gave us head wraps to wear and we thought it was a part of the package and then he became irate because i wouldnt pay 100 pounds= 20 US dollars for it.The economy is poor so people have a great hustle.Be careful for all the beggars and negotiators in the streets. Use the hotel taxi or find you one taxi to stay with you for the day.Quote him a price thats good for you and dont pay him till the day is over, because you may get left.I want to give to you want I experienced so that you can judge how you want to enjoy Cairo. Also, the Sheraton has a small casino.I live in Kuwait by way of America so I hadnt been able to gamble or drink and I enjoyed that tremendously.
“Old style Sheraton.”
Nice Hotel but it felt like my grandmas hotel. Good location. Better hotels for the same price.
“I would love to go back to cairo again but thinking of changing the hotel.”
our flight arrived on tuesday 5th of july at 12:15 after mid night and leaves at 10:55 on the 8th so here I am preparing to go to the airport at 8:00 pm on friday the 8th the reciption man told me that the chick out time is noon time and I should pay extra mony for the late check out but I told him that was the deal with expedia with the airplane ticket then he said that is the rule then I said I tell expedia about this because they did not inform me for this extra mony for late check out, so he said he will do me a favor and let me go with no charge... so he did not charge me any thing but does he have a right do say that????. so please adviz me for my next time. and thank you.
“Comfortable but not 5*”
The hotel was very nice and staff were extremely friendly. The Sheraton beds are not what you'd expect from Sheraton stateside hotels. What we had was not plush and inviting. We asked for a king and they pushed our beds together. No big deal. The breakfast was standard continental with some local dishes. This hotel had a reputation of being dated, but it sufficed very well. The Lebanese restaurant was delicious.
“I would go back.. but not alone...”
As a female I found the service a little off... Many of the male workers seemed a little standoffish when I requested my room stay etc... If you are a female, and you are considering traveling to Cario alone.. beware and becareful!!!!
“Good Value for Money”
Excellent for Business purposes. Service is slow a little bit. Will come back again.
“noise”
the hotel is fine but there is alot of noise in the area....
“Sheraton Cairo is OK”
gave the hotel good reviews on service, condition & maintanance, and room cleanliness & comfort, but there are few things to be careful of. business centere is expensive to check email and internet. buying the internet card is evenmore expensive. shops in hotel (even pharmacy) is extremely expensive. finally try to avoid hotel taxi service. black & white taxi is the way to go, unless you enjoy giving money to hotel.
“Nice but expensive hotel for what you get”
The hotel was nice and convenient given that it had multiple banks to exchange money at, taxi calling service, a touring agency and multiple places to eat. I did however get sick while eating there (my food poisoning lasted 2-3 weeks). It was really nasty. The bed was a pretty big let-down. It must have been a 30yr old bed. It sagged a lot. Overall, I would rate this hotel a 4 star.
“Arabian Family”
the trip was wonderful but the City was very crowded and suffer of pollution
