Claims to be 5 star hotel but is not

Pros: Location is perfect.
Cons: The personnel need to be better trained and need to be more proffessional. They kept asking for ips when they didn't do anything to earn one.
Location: museums, pyramids, shopping
Bank fellow for exchanging money was not friendly, helpful or professional. Conceriege fellow does not look out for your best interest and will set you up on tours w/ people out to steal money. Do not do tours arranged by the hotel. The room was clean- it was not the one promised but it was clean. The cleaning staff were the best. Hotel food is super expensive. You'd be better off walking around the corner to one of the local restaurants. Get your on taxi too- not one throught the hotel or they will charge you more.

Mixed feelings

Overall pleasant stay, hotel very dated, old lobby and worn down rooms...nice gardens and hotel restaurants but the main let down is the customer service at reception, seems like they're not bothered..very expensive hotel for what it has to offer, definitely more 4 star than 5.

Cons: General Service
Location: Just the Nile River and Giza/Museum is not far away
Charge for everything (as everywhere in Cairo). Room service or housekeeping never work for me, call may times and never show up. Cairo people and specially the employees attitude is bad and aggressive, not really friendly or even gently. I booked Sofitel, because Sofitel i Bahrain was fantastic, but this one is not recommended at all.

Amazing view of the Nile

The Sofitel is right on the Nile and some rooms have amazing Nile views. But getting one of the rooms can be difficult, even if your reservation specifies full Nile view. It took three attempts until I head the view that I had reserved and paid for (Full Nile View). As with many things in Egypt, it is a matter of much back and fourth with the hotel staff, as even something obvious (reservation says "Full Nile View") is not so obvious to everyone (but "you did not reserve a full Nile view room."). While views of and hotel restaurants and pool on the Nile are great, the hotel would benefit from some renovation and upgrading (which I expect will happen as political uncertainty decreases).

Great hotel

Excellent hotel in great location. Try all the restaurants as they are excellent. I think this is the best hotel in the area as it is quiet and right on the Nile. Only downside was noises party boats, mostly empty, with music all night.

Incredible hotel in great location

I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Breakfast i amazing view is great higher rooms get better view. i was on 26th floor once and on my other visit 24th floor great views love love love this hotel. Probably one of the best in Cairo. Also location is great in the middle of the Nile. Keep it up guys!

Beautiful Hotel!

I love everything about the hotel, the ambiance, the staff performance, and facilities. I particularly fond of the the infinity swimming pool and the Jacuzzi at SO Spa. The view from my room on the 24th floor is amazing, and the room is well soundproofed. The Hermes amenities are of a great delight, the scent is so soothing and very comforting. Its many restaurants offer a great experience of dining, and try the Moroccan cuisine alfresco dining by the Nile River. It is second to none.

Ramadan in Cairo

Cons: To bring a bigger TV screen in the sport bar
Location: Excellent, exclusive surreounded by the nile close yet close to every thing
excellent service and clean facility , the view is outsanding

I will not stay again.

Pros: The beds are comfortable.
Cons: There should be irons coffee machine tea like other good hotels
Expensive food with bad quality..I checked out and came back for my charger but they say it is not there which is strange it was in my room. I got sick asked them to call a doctor after more than 30 minutes i was asking for the doctor again it was clear they forgot to call him then they said they will get me a doctor for 110 $ . The room appeared bigger in the picture. The bed is good.
