Amazing view of the Nile

The Sofitel is right on the Nile and some rooms have amazing Nile views. But getting one of the rooms can be difficult, even if your reservation specifies full Nile view. It took three attempts until I head the view that I had reserved and paid for (Full Nile View). As with many things in Egypt, it is a matter of much back and fourth with the hotel staff, as even something obvious (reservation says "Full Nile View") is not so obvious to everyone (but "you did not reserve a full Nile view room."). While views of and hotel restaurants and pool on the Nile are great, the hotel would benefit from some renovation and upgrading (which I expect will happen as political uncertainty decreases).

Great hotel

Excellent hotel in great location. Try all the restaurants as they are excellent. I think this is the best hotel in the area as it is quiet and right on the Nile. Only downside was noises party boats, mostly empty, with music all night.

I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Breakfast i amazing view is great higher rooms get better view. i was on 26th floor once and on my other visit 24th floor great views love love love this hotel. Probably one of the best in Cairo. Also location is great in the middle of the Nile. Keep it up guys!

Beautiful Hotel!

I love everything about the hotel, the ambiance, the staff performance, and facilities. I particularly fond of the the infinity swimming pool and the Jacuzzi at SO Spa. The view from my room on the 24th floor is amazing, and the room is well soundproofed. The Hermes amenities are of a great delight, the scent is so soothing and very comforting. Its many restaurants offer a great experience of dining, and try the Moroccan cuisine alfresco dining by the Nile River. It is second to none.

Cons: To bring a bigger TV screen in the sport bar
Location: Excellent, exclusive surreounded by the nile close yet close to every thing
excellent service and clean facility , the view is outsanding

I will not stay again.

Pros: The beds are comfortable.
Cons: There should be irons coffee machine tea like other good hotels
Expensive food with bad quality..I checked out and came back for my charger but they say it is not there which is strange it was in my room. I got sick asked them to call a doctor after more than 30 minutes i was asking for the doctor again it was clear they forgot to call him then they said they will get me a doctor for 110 $ . The room appeared bigger in the picture. The bed is good.

Pros: The View, The Reception staff on the executive floor, the complimentary afternoon tea including spirits, good WiFi throughout the property.
Cons: Lovely pool but too small for the property. A bit more attention to the tourist market.
Location: Cairo at present is not a city to walk around.We went on a private guided tours of many Cairo attractions only possible to access with a driver.
Top security which was reassuring in Cairo during these troubled times in Egypt. Our suite was on an executive floor so check in was easy and very welcoming including a welcome drink and lots of smiles. Our suite was large, clean, with an abundance of Hermes bathroom amenities down to the sewing kit. The king bed was comfortable and the separate lounge gave us the opportunity to get over jet lag in our own time. The view was expansive over the Nile and city. The breakfast was fantastic with many selections. We found the service to be mostly good but noticed that our needs were in most cases served after the businessmen and Egyptian nationals for this reason I would say this is a business hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and found the food of a reasonable quality that was reasonably priced. The Spa is ridiculously expensive so much so I though it was a printing error and enquired. It was not! The pool though in a great location is too small and could not cope in size or bar service with an Egyptian long weekend and most days it was difficult to find a sun bed & on one occasion we gave up altogether. The management still allows a towel left on a bed to reserve it all day. In conclusion I would recommend this hotel to anyone but be aware that it is not a resort but rather a business hotel. The party boats though not a fault of the hotel are very annoying and disruptive and all pervious reports of them in reviews are true. Definitely insist on a high room as they will keep you awake

the hotel hotel and the room were clean, the staff are so helpful, i love the swimming pool, spent most of the day on the swimming pool, the has nice resturant but i can't recall the name of it, overall sofitel is the right place to spend your holiday.....

Nice view on Nile Great massage

Pros: Spa , pool, restaurants and rfght next to Nile
Cons: Milk could be left in room for tea and coffee. Really annoying to call room service and then feel you have to tip each time. Hair salon English bad
Very good service especially when my mother lost her earrings, staff extremely helpful and helped look
