First Time Booking

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The hotel is still being renovated. The front lobby is large & impressive with lots of seating for visiting. It also has a piano in the middle.
Cons: This can't be improved, I think, but the very noisy traffic on the main avenue for the rooms facing it was unbearable. Ask for a room on other side.
Location: Close to Deerfoot Trail north or south so travel, we found, was quick to get around for any central activity.
This was the best rate I could find for pre-Stampede week for one nite. Decided to try this hotel for first time because the location was still near what we needed the stay for. The restaurant menu is expensive & isn't for younger children. We had our granddaughter with us. There is a coffee bar for those just wanting coffee. The heated pool was very large so it accommodated several families, but he hot tub was too hot.

Last minute.com after flight delay

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Comfortable and available.
Cons: Nothing noted
Location: Calgary and all the sights - Calgary tower is great and in winter, catch a Flames match.
Arrived gutted from delay, stressed and pretty upset with 2 very tired children. The hotel staff were very good and the facilities appeared great - we were too tired to participate. Breakfast was decent and well priced. Not a bad choice for a quick search in desperate times.

Below OK

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: The pool was ok.
Cons: Pretty much everything.
Location: It's in NE Calgary, right beside a fire hall so prepare to hear sirens all night long.
The hotel was dirty, the bed uncomfortable. The couch destroyed. The tub and sink wouldn't drain. The only ok thing is the pool.

Forgot I stayed at the hotel last year

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Not a lot
Cons: Service
Location: Lack of Restaurants close by
I forgot I stayed at this hotel last year and was again disappointed. The room was clean and comfortable however the service at the front desk was a bit questionable. They gave me a room on the ground floor at the rear of the hotel which I didn't feel comfortable with and got some attitude when I requested a room change. That evening I planned on dining the hotel restaurant or lounge but after getting no service left to dine elsewhere. Unfortunately there were no decent restaurants close by and ended up having to drive further than I would have liked. Will not stay at this hotel again.

Easy ride to the airport

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: The friendly staff.
Cons: Clear the smoke smell out. Or ask if non smokers want to stay on a floor that was once non smoking 100%.
Location: Calgary airport
I was greeted by very friendly staff at the hotel. The room - although a non-smoking hotel - still smelled like smoke. I was only there for a night to catch the plane. The room was clean (besides the old smoke smell) and the bed was comfortable. I had to be at the airport for 5 am. The shuttle left promptly at 4 am. Even though the driver never showed up for his shift. A friendly front desk manager drove us.

Never Again

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: For our purpose, the location is excellent.
This was our third and last visit to this hotel. The rooms are showing wear and emitting an awful musty odor. We had to change rooms because the air conditioner sounded like an old train engine. On a positive, the staff was accommodating but the room was not an upgrade. The free internet never did work. The slow elevator stopped at every other floor for no reason.

Will stay again!

We were staying there for one night before our flight and it relatively close to yhe airport. The rooms were clean and quite comfortable. The restaurant was fairly good and the waiter we had was great. The lobby lounge was another great place to relax and the bartender was very good. It was nice to see the pool area open early to enjoy it before check out!!
