Great staff. Old concert construction, so super quite. We had the 12th floor with corner window. Nice view.

How long will maintenance take???!

Posted Nov 23, 2014
Pros: Ambience was decent.
Cons: Definitely get that elevator fixed, and I would recommend some better equipment in the gym.
The hotel is more than adequate although I was surprised to see the notorious elevator still shut down for repairs as noted by guests weeks ago. Of note, more and more often booking through a third party like Expedia lands you third party results with the carrier. On this trip, I booked 6 weeks in advance and yet I still land the room that is adjacent to the noisy elevators, and of course in the tower with the faulty elevator. I would consider this a "one off" scenario; however, my last few purchases via a third party group has landed me less than satisfactory results. I have even had carriers say "next time book through us and things may be better." Groups like expedia need to deal with these situations quickly... if my experience remains similar to this one I would likely forgo the cost savings and book direct, and perhaps negotiate a bit with the carrier.

Hotel at the Conference Centre

Posted Nov 22, 2014
Pros: The rooms were clean, the staff were professional friendly and accommodating . The hotel had a pool and a gym. The conference facilities were great.
Cons: After day 1 , the hotel made adjustments to staffing in order to accommodate the volume of people requiring lunch during the convention lunch break.
Location: This facility is located outside downtown Calgary.
I was in Calgary for 3 day conference and stayed at the Coast Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre. The conference was happening at the Coast Plaza so it worked out perfect for me. Calgary was in the middle of a real cold weather spell so I never ventured out much except to eat supper each night at one of the many great restaurants in the area.

Nice place, close to shopping

Posted Oct 28, 2014
Pros: Clean, friendly, good food and generally a nice place.
Location: Shopping malls are close.
Nice clean hotel and rooms. Superior King, nice room, friendly staff, very good breakfast included. Even though parts of the hotel were under construction, we had a good stay. The swimming pool and hot tub were very good. Not crowded. Would definitely come back.

Comfortable Stay

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: Comfortable room temperature and settings.
Cons: Carpets in the lobby on my floor look worn and tired.
Location: Reasonably close to downtown where my meetings were.
Overall, positive experience; front office staff friendly and welcoming. Had a wonderful dinner at the main restaurant in the lobby.
