Awful! The property was dirty. The sink in our room was clogged, the shower did not work, the heater was so noisy, felt like we were sleeping next to the train tracks with ongoing train passing through. On top of that the elevator was questionable, you didn’t know what floor you were on until the door opened.

If $99 rooms were still a thing, this would be one of them. The “Calgary South” in the name is very misleading, definitely not south Calgary. The rooms are super out dated, the bathroom was dirty, facecloths stained, shower rod barely hanging on, shower barely worked and never got hot, bed was super hard and uncomfortable, the people in the adjoining room next to us sounded like they may as well have been sharing a room with us. Also, the front desk would not let us pay for the room with debit. Overall, definitely will not be staying again. Disappointing.

To start off positively, the room looked nice and the one lady receptionist was really nice and helpful. The room was mainly cleaned, but there was hair in the bed and what looked to be some sort of drink that has partially spilled in the mini fridge. You can hear so much of what’s going on in the hallway and I was put right next to the stairs, so I could hear the door slamming quite a bit. There were no phone chargers that I could buy there, or even close to the property which partly isn’t their fault, but other travellers I could imagine need a charger here and there, so I’m going to share this story quickly. I got to the hotel and checked in, and my phone had died right as I got there. I had asked the male receptionist working where I could buy a phone charger and he pointed me in a specific direction. I even asked “so for sure the gas station is that way? Because I have no phone at 1 am and no way of finding another place” he said he was sure. I walked so far, past so many closed gas stations until eventually, 45 minutes later, finding a gas station to buy a charger. The area has so many homeless people yelling, asking for money, using drugs extremely publicly and I was just overall approached so many times. I asked for the gas station attendant to call me a cab, it never showed up. That’s not the hotels fault, but misguiding me that heavily put me in a dangerous situation from 1-2:30am, with a dead phone in that area.

I enjoy this hotel for the location! Wish they still had their lounge in the hotel as that was a nice place to hangout for abit. I think the deposit is very high as i stay in ALOT of hotels and usually deposit is $100 and under and its $200 in a hotel like this and is held for a long time. Staff was very friendly and rooms were very clean.

I was disappointed with the breakfast again. There is a lot of variety but the eggs, sausage and hasbrown patties are luke warm at best. The staff at the desk and the cleaning staff that I had occasion to speak to were very friendly and accommodating. This hotel is in a central location and I will stay there again.

The staff was incredible. very courteous and helpful. They looked after all our needs with a smile. Room was large and comfortable and was cleaned every day. We were on the first flour that still involved climbing 24 stairs with no elevator. Someone came immediately to help us with our luggage. There was a large TV but reception was a inconsistent. Tubi was a bonus. Breakfast was great but was the same every day. They were hosting several refugee families with lots of children and they found areas they could play but not interfere with hotel guests. It was wonderful to hear the children enjoying their time in Canada.

Our stay was OK. Not great, not terrible. We were visiting family and just needed a place to sleep so it served the purpose well. We booked a king size bed and received a phone call about an hour before checking in saying that they had an emergency and we would have to have a room with 2 queen sized beds instead. This was a little off-putting. Why bother booking in advance if it doesn't guarantee what you are paying for? The room itself was clean, hotel was very quiet, room was spacious. Staff were ok - not overly friendly or accommodating, although the person checking us out was kind enough to give us a bit of a discount because of the king bed/queen bed inconvenience. It was OK. Not great, not terrible. Would we stay here again? Probably not. The $200 up front fee for any damages was a shocking surprise for us. Maybe this is standard now with hotels (we don't get out much)? Definitely a turn-off for us.

It is convenient to the BMO centre. Access to it is sketchy coming from the north, the alley is full of pot holes. The breakfast was good except on one day, they packed things up before 10 and it was hard to find someone to get refills on the coffee and waffles.

I got a room and upon arriving found out there was no elevator, I carried all my bags up the stairs. This was fine, although I planned this trip for a tattoo. And upon leaving had the worst time carrying my bags one by one because I could not use my one arm ( I got a full sleeve done, and it was sore) anyways staff watched me struggle down the stairs, I had 2 bags when one of the cleaning staff members saw me and helped. Their vending machine did not work so I went downstairs for a water and got told they only accept cash. They could not print me a receipt. I did not want to share me email with them but was forced to in order to get a receipt. You have to ask to be let into the pool because they lock it, and the traffic is extremely loud.
