Overpriced average hotel

Pros: Location
Cons: Move smokers away from doors so people can pass without walking through clouds of smoke
We needed a handicap friendly room but settled on a standard room after finding out that there was a hefty upcharge. Checkin was quick and easy. Room was clean, other than the food menu which was sticky with food from previous users. We left the hotel 3 times and had to navigate through smokers directly outside both exits, some of which were hotel staff. The only time no one was out smoking was when we checked out, probably because it was raining.(yes rain in Calgary in December, go figure). Also hhad kids running above us till 10:30pm. Overall a disapointing experience

Good Location, quiet. Room very comfortable

Location: Close to shopping at Chinook Centre, good selection of restaurants in the Hotel and also close by on McLeod Trail.
Stayed one night, experience was very good, staff is great. Value for money was good. Room was clean and comfortable. Our room was in the tower on the 5th floor, no traffic noise. Plug-ins in the parking lot for colder nights. Water slide for the kids in the Tower building and in the Atrium building there is an exercise room and another pool area.

Nice but not the best

Pros: Overall, room was comfortable.
Cons: the sink
Overall, this hotel was nice, and the staff were kind. However, one thing muddled the stay. The bathroom sink did not drain. When we left for the evening, we told the front desk so that they could request for maintenance to take a look. We returned approximately 4 hours later and the sink was in the same condition. After calling again, they sent a security guard who just unscrewed the metal stopper and the water drained. Really, I should not have had to call a couple of times for one issue that could have greatly affected our stay.

Excellent location

Pros: Close to major freeways, shopping malls, restaurants and night life. Hotel restaurant was satisfying but limited menu, nice exercise room. Clean, safe
Cons: It was a long ways to the restaurant, but I guess it's a big hotel.
Location: Excellent location, it's in the hub of all the action. View from the window felt like I was on vacation.
Staff were informative and friendly. We enjoyed facilities eating in Atrium restaurant, exercise room, and had a very good sleep in clean bed and clean bathroom facilities. Nothing really to complain about.

confusing business model

Still nor getting the airmiles I provide everytime I stay. Desk manager would not rent a room unless I was staying for three days?? Used expedia and available and cheaper. tv signal always cuts in and out

Pros: The staff were exceptional, the room was very nice and the location was central.
Cons: Some sort of wind barrier separating the front door from the seating area in the lobby would be an excellent idea.
Location: I chose the hotel for its central location.I was in town for a family function, therefore did not participate in local activities.
My introduction to this hotel was the charming and professional young men I encountered at the front desk. It set the tone immediately. Subsequently, everyone I had occasion to interact with re-enforced this first impression, from housekeeping to management. Anytime I met a hotel employee, I was greeted and acknowledged with pleasant smiles and a cheery "Hello" or "Good Morning".The employees gave the impression that they actually liked working there. This is not always the case. The room was pleasant and clean, nicely set up with a desk and office chair as well as a mini fridge and microwave. Unfortunately I did not heed the warning of the front desk concerning choosing a room on the third floor over one offered on the first floor. The third floor in the tower is the passage way to the atrium of the hotel and is very noisy day and night with guest traffic and hotel employee traffic. I would recommend not taking a room in this location. The seating in the lobby is in direct line with the front door which opens and closes frequently. Given this hotel is located in Calgary where the temperature is often frigid, it is very uncomfortable when waiting for a cab or a ride.
