“Hotel Arts”
Air conditioning/heat was broke. Hotel gave me one breakfast coupon only after I complained. TV did not work very well some channels were entirely unwatchable. Over priced hotel.
“not impressed at all!!”
staff very pleasant and helpful, rooms etc good, but very noisy. rooms not very soundproof, and kept awake most of the night by people coming and going through the front foyer. Hotel was hosting several weddings at one time so was unable to use facilities etc very disappointing
“Not as good as advertised”
If you are reserving "studio" in this hotel, be prepared to a very noisy environment, bad air-conditioning and eventually, trying to move to other room. Service stuff are good people, but eventually not able to fix air-conditioning. the best solution would be to pay the same money at Hayatt, couple of blocks away.
“Nice hotel, but...”
This is a tough one to review. Hotel Arts is an older hotel (formerly Best Western) that had been renovated. Some aspects have been done very well (lobby, bedrooms, pool area) others not so well - the bathrooms are cramped with older fixtures and a poor shower in a stained tub. The desk area is not well suited for the business traveler. The pool area is popular with a younger (20s ) crowd and very busy at the weekends. The surrounding area looks interesting at first blush, but it appears to popular with a not so desirable crowd of youths (unemployed?) and because of the large number of restaurants and bars in the area, the late evening crowd can be rowdy. It is convenient to downtown, but if you in Calgary on business, I would stay downtown since this hotel is no cheaper. Overall I would say this hotel is not suitable for families, nor well equipped for the business person and I found it quite expensive relative to the Westin/Hyatt type hotels which have much better amenities. However for a younger crowd looking for a trendy hotel, it may suit very well.
“Would stay again”
First time in Canada, first stop on the trip, and recommend for a centrally located hotel. Very nice and helpful staff!
“Impressive design/remodel and comfortable hotel”
The remodeled hotel was clean, comfortable, and near the city center. Loved the remodel. The room was large and comfortable.
“"Enjoyable stay"”
We traveled to Calgary with another couple and made our reservations via reviews by other people and also for the location. The rooms were very nice and clean. The food was average and the wait staff was very good. Front desk staff was very knowledgable and helped with all of our questions. The only complaint is the lighting in the rooms. Very dark in lots of places where you might have a suitcase etc. Not enough or bright enough lighting.
“great hotel”
Raw bar had wonderful food and wine, not raw, beautiful hotel, lively and beautiful
“Amazing!”
When we arrived I had let the front desk know that we were there to celelbrate our birthdays (hubby and myself) We were asked if we wanted a city view or not. High floor or low. The room was perfect and about 30 minutes after checking in a platter arrived with chocolate dipped goodies! Happy Birthday was written on the bottom with chocolates. It was a very amazing stay and would definetly go back!
“Next time in Calgary will be there again”
Nice place, close to what its there to see and do in Calgary
