A Real Gem

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Really glad I found this hotel as an alternative to disappointing stays at the usual high end big name hotels downtown. Still very close to downtown with short walk to the free LRT. Many amenities surrounding the hotel too. The room was excellent, staff very friendly, attentive and helpful and for once a relaxing sleep in a quiet room. My new go to place in Downtown Calgary!

Nice apart-hotel not far from main downtown area.

We stayed here for a night to go to Stampede and was ideal given how pricey the bigger chain hotels were. About four blocks each way to C train, 17th Ave shops and main downtown area. Parking was $18 per day and was a block away so again ideal given price. No lift but thankfully not too many stairs and we were on the top floor (4th).

Great hotel just outside of downtown core.

Great. Handy location to 17th ave and downtown. Walkable to both areas, the LRT and across the street from Safeways for added convenience of buying some groceries.

Great location

I really liked this place. The location that was an easy walk to both the funky, trendy bars and restaurants 17th ave as well as the more upscale bars and restaurants along the outdoor, traffic free mall of 8th ave and all of the good places in between. A Safeway across the street to buy a little food to stock the great little, fully outfitted kitchenette in the room, an ensuite dishwasher as well as clothes washer and dryer were all really nice to have. The room design was very modern and pleasant although the stools at the kitchen counter were a little uncomfortable. All in all though I loved it and will stay there again.

Nuvo Hotel Suites

Location: Great downtown location. Next to Safeway so easy to get groceries to fill up the kitchenette. Parking is down the road for $18/night.
The room is more like a condo so you have a basic kitchenette and plenty of space The noise level off the street is a bit loud at night but I turned on the fan the 2nd night and it drowned it out. The hotel staff are great - very friendly and accomodating. I would stay here again.

Would stay here again

Posted Jun 7, 2014
I would stay here again. But I wouldn't recommend room 101 simply because it is located right at the front if the property so you get the street noise and the noise from people coming/going from the property. Otherwise room was nice, appeared to have been renovated. Bathroom was small but not an issue for me.

Convenient hotel in downtown Calgary area.

Pros: I like the fact that it was a condo suite and that it came with all the appliances, cutlery, etc. that was needed.
Cons: Shower could be improved a little bit and parking.
Location: It was close to the Lougheed House. If you don't mind walking then you can walk to Calgary tower and roam around downtown area.
I love the room with complete amenities (i.e, microvawe, stove, etc.). I though it was better than a regular hotel.

Excellent service, commodities and wonderful staff

Posted May 29, 2014
We are very thankful for the welcoming and accomodated staff's service. Located in Calgary's Downtown, this hotel is near byall the principal services (groceries, liquor stores, parking, etc) and a 20 minutes drive from the Highway. The room was perfect but the bed was unconfortable, too smooth.....I rolled on my husband's side during the night......It's the only negative comment I can do because the experience was excellent! Thank you for all, Clément and Suzie from Québec City!

European style hotel in the heart of Calgary

Posted May 11, 2014
Pros: The proximity to 17 Avenue, restaurants, shopping, and across the street from a Safeway. The full kitchen, including oven and dishwasher, in the room.
Location: Located 5 blocks from "the Red Mile" there's lots to do - shop, eat, drink, people watch....
We only stayed two nights, but this would be an ideal location for an extended stay in Calgary. Full kitchen allows you to make meals when you want to.
