No Second Chance

Posted May 14, 2015
Pros: Close to Safeway
Cons: Better customer service from the front desk. The hotel did not adhere to the my special request made even though I called a week ahead to confirm.
Location: Walking distance to restaurant avenue.
Did not sleep all night as the room was very hot and the portable air conditioner sounded like a truck revving when in operation and the fan mode did not have the cooling strength. Bathroom was very tight with no counter space and water spilling out onto the floor from the shower. Room very dark...not conducive to doing work in. Kitchen faucet very loose.. Poor attention to maintenance.

Nice little hotel in downtown Calgary

Posted May 11, 2015
This is a great place to stay in downtown Calgary. The rooms are nicely renovated and offer kitchen suite amenities at a standard room price. They're a bit compact, but if you don't need room to roam you'll be just fine. The location is excellent with plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. The only downside is parking availability, but hey, it's downtown. The hotel does offer parking in their parkade for a flat fee. Overall, it was a great stay and I'd definitely go back.

Overall, the room was not bad. The bathroom was very small. Housekeeping could be a bit better, as there were a few strands of hair in the sink from the previous guest and a few lightbulbs were out. The blinds weren't working very well either. It is nice to have a full kitchen if that is something the guest requires.

Very comfortable well appointed room with a rather large balcony. Parking is about a 3 minute walk away and an $18 additional fee but this is reasonable for the area. Would stay here again.

Will never return

I stayed at the Nuvo hotel last weekend and it was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Extremely uncomfortable beds, too hot in the room to sleep and you can hear everyone in the rooms and hall around you. The worst part of the experience was the lack of parking. I understand that you charge your guests for parking on top of their hotel charges; however you should have parking spots available (charge or not). Huge inconvience with parking. I was told by the lady at the front desk to park accross the street as they had no parking. I parked in the exact location she told me to and woke up to my car towed away in the morning. I then had to spend 3 hours of my morning hunting down and retrieving my car from impound; not to mention the hefty fine I had to pay. While at the inpound, I spoke with a gentleman waiting next to me who had stayed at the same hotel that night, was told to park right infront of me and was also towed. Terrible customer service; you are there to provide knowledge and service to guests who are not from the city. Do your homework. Also, the rooms are designed to look upscale and modern; however when viewed in person they are cheap and uncomfortable all around. Completely unimpressed. If it was possible to get a refund and find a new hotel upon my arrival, I would have.

Location: grocery store right across the street is convenient, restaurants, stampede park all within walking distance.
Had a 10 night stay with my husband for an event. Really impressive room & kitchen, I would say only the shower was a little less than to my liking. I would definitely recommend the hotel for comfort & convenience. Even if the bed was a little squeaky ;)

nice hotel close to the area we required

Posted Mar 26, 2015
We chose this hotel because of the location . Parking was not very accessible . The staff were very friendly and took the time to help with any question we had. The rooms were very clean but needed some repairs such as the kitchen faucet, the towel warmer was not working.

Nice boutique hotel

Posted Mar 18, 2015
The staff were great and the room was very nice. We had some friends meet up with us before heading to 17th ave and it was perfect for the 6 of us to have a pre-dinner cocktail and the room was stocked with everything we needed...glasses, bottle openers etc. The location is great....a short walk to bars and restaurants. The only issues I could mention is that the parking is down the block and our guests had to park on the street. I also couldn't figure out how to get the T.V to work. Overall, great little boutique hotel and great location.
