“You are paying for location....nothing else”
The hotel is marginal at best and really not in line with most Westins I have stayed at. Unfortunately - trying to find another comparable hotel in the area is a problem...
“A bit disappointed”
Loved the heavenly beds in the Westin and the room was extremely comfortable with on demand movies. We were not offered assistance with our bags when the bus dropped us off, nor at check-in. There were very little facilities in the lobby (e.g. no gift shop or convenience store). In the neighbourhood there were very few restaurants or shops. Maybe it was just Calgary itself but we didn't like the area the hotel was in.
“Westin Calgary”
My husband, infant, and I stayed for two nights in the Westin Calgary. We were impressed by the clean & modern look of the room as well as the cleanliness and comfort. The location was excellent as we were attending a wedding ceremony just a few blocks away, and the Eaton mall was also very close by. The elevator runs to the parking floors but not to the some of the conference/banquet rooms. There are "preferred floors" but we were not sure what the difference was in rooms other than being on a higher floor. I'm not sure if it was because I was a SPG member that we were put on one of these floors. There is a rooftop pool, and whirlpool/hottub but it could use a renovation. It would have been nice to have wheelchair accessibility to the conference/ banquet rooms. I can't comment on the restaurants "Essense" or "Keg" as we never ate there. The service in the hotel was great, and overall our stay was comfortable. We would return to this hotel in the future.
“No 4-star bathtub”
we had stayed at this hotel in the past. location is what we wanted. only drawback was not having a bathtub and the thermostat was not satisfactory. even with the weather being cold outside, we couldn't get the room cool enough. overall, it is a good downtown hotel.
“Total overpriced Hotel”
Overpriced old Hotel. Very poor gym (1 elliptical working!) and dirty. Equipment is outdated! Heating system did not work properly and the tuna fish was still frozen when served at the restaurant. Do not recommend.
“one of the better hotels in canada”
right in the middle of downtown. very accessible to a lot of major locations. nice and friendly staff.
“Clean, comfortable, reasonable.”
It was nice to stay in a place that was centrally located, clean and safe feeling in a strange city. I would definately stay there again.
“Lovely!”
We were very pleased. The staff was professional, and the room was immaculate. The bathroom was quite small but nice nonetheless.
“Very good location for business”
If you have to walk around different places and are short of time.
“Very Nice”
Would recommend.
