Calitri is situated approximately 170 miles (274 kilometers) southeast of Rome, the national capital, and 45 miles (72 kilometers) northeast of Amalfi.
Calitri isn't the only place in this popular region worth experiencing; visitors can also set out to see the magic of the surrounding landscapes, towns and cities. While here, consider a trip to the Nusco Cathedral and Civi Amato Statue in Nusco, approximately 18 miles (29 kilometers) to the east of Calitri.
Organize some transport and visit Benevento, a major city for the region, situated some 40 miles (64 kilometers) from Calitri. This regional center has plenty of tourist attractions, including Arch of Trajan, Church of Santa Sofia and Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. Rocca dei Rettori and Ponte Leproso are just a sample of the other points of interest in Benevento that should be on every visitor's schedule.
Take a trip to Campania's theaters, craft workshops and art museums. These are good places to explore, especially when the weather is less than perfect. Houses of faith are often great windows into a community's spiritual heart. The churches throughout Campania are certainly no exception.
Don't forget to check out Campania's alluring waterways. Wind surfing and canoeing are some of the popular ways to get wet here. If you are not the type of traveler to take holidays simply to shuffle between the hot tub and the bar, Campania offers a number of outdoor-adventure activities such as horse riding and mountain climbing.
At the end of your adventure in Calitri, use your last euros on last-minute souvenirs and bid a fond Ciao (farewell).
