“Service, and Charm !”
This hotels service, charm and location made it among the best values of any of the hotels we stayed in during our three weeks in Europe.
“More than expected”
My first stay in a hotel in France .... I'd read reviews of other hotels about the size of rooms, cleanliness, etc. I was pleasantly surprised with my small but comfy room with the king size bed, refrigerator with beverages and compact but clean bathroom with a FABULOUS shower!! The staff was friendly and helpful. The elevator was a bit of a squeeze with luggage, but manageable. Best thing of all was that the entire hotel is smoke-free which is not easy to find, so I'm told. All in all, wonderful stay while I visited my daughter who is studying at the university and will be staying there again when returning in May. Merci beaucoup!
“Perfect location”
Perfect location in the centre of all that is lively and fun for a holiday stay. Shopping and dining are right outside the door!Multi-lingual staff.
“Friendly and helpful staff”
Nice hotel, central location close to Chateau, sites and many shops and restaurants. The parking at reasonable fee, is limited at the hotel, but the staff were very helpful in moving cars to get our larger car parked. Everyone was friendly and helpful. If we are ever in the area we would stay here.
“Central location”
Spent a few days in Caen. Used it as our base for trips to Ste Mere Eglise, Omaha and Utah Beaches and also Honfleur. Nice hotel, clean, conveniently located in town. Upon check out, they insisted that they had to charge me a second time for the room and I would be reimbursed by Expedia. I have never heard of this being done. I don't think the girl checking us out understood what she needed to do. Have not seen an additional charge. Wish breakfast would have been included for the price of the room. Over all happy with the room and hotel.
“Comfortable, quiet”
Not a great hotel but a comfortable, clean and very quiet hotel in the center of Caen-- great location for walking. Staff is friendly and efficient and always on hand; there was wireless internet in the room, though not free. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, though adequate. Room was small but clean and well maintained.
“Good Place To Stay In Caen, France”
Quiet and centrally located in town. Staff very friendly, speak some english. Recently remodeled. Very clean. Excellent location for exploring downtown Caen. Grocery store across street with excellent deli.
“Good jumping off point”
Overall the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, providing directions and restaurant recommendations. The location is also quite helpful--it's a short drive to Bayeux and the D-day beaches, which makes touring much easier. The rooms however were not particularly good. The beds were lumpy and sloping, so that we would end up in the center of the bed every night. In response the staff gave 2 in our party a different room, though it smelled like fresh paint -- the trade off wasn't great but the paint smell was tolerable for a modestly better bed.
“Cannot Recommend This Hotel”
This hotel is located near the center of Caen, and was difficult to find. Once we found it we had more difficulty finding a place to park. There is a garage, but it is closed and you have to check in before you can park in it. I was forced to block the enterance to the garage while checking in. The room we received was fairly large and clean, however the mattress on the bed was clearly worn out, the bathroom is laid out poorly, and worst of all, the walls are too thin. The entire evening we could hear every door on the floor open and close as well as any conversations in the hallway. This is probably not the worst hotel in Caen, but I'd recommend trying a different one.
