Perfect for overnight stayPosted May 17, 2015
Pros: Fine for a short stay.
Cons: Hopefully will be part of Campanile refurbishment programme.
Location: As Bayeux is relatively compact, hotel is very adjacent to both ring road and centre.
Despite large coach party, staff coped extremely well both at dinner and breakfast. Typical traditional Campanile in terms of style and room facilities.

Spartan rooms, but a good valuePosted May 4, 2015
Pros: The low price and great location.
Cons: Sound-proofing the walls between rooms.
Location: Bayeux Cathedral, shops & restaurants, British military cemetery -- A very quaint place.
This hotel is in a great location in Bayeux -- The spectacular Bayeux Cathedral & the Bayeux Tapestry are both very close to the hotel. Bayeux is a very quaint town with centuries-old buildings. A lot of shops and restaurants are in the downtown area, which, like the Cathedral, is about a 10 minute walk. The British military cemetery from WWII is also very close to the hotel, and is definitely worth visiting. The rooms are spare, but clean. The only real downside was that the walls of the rooms are very thin. Fortunately, the residents in the surrounding rooms while I was there were fairly quiet, but I could see noise from adjoining rooms being an issue for some. Overall, it was a great value, as the room was very inexpensive and quite serviceable as a launching point for a few days touring Normandy.

Pros: Convenient location near major D-Day sites.
Cons: Dated facility, small rooms.
Location: D-Day Beaches, Bayeux has many sites to explore. The tapestry is a must see!
Exceptional hotel staff in all areas of service. Exceptional chef on staff for evening meals. Restaurant staff were gracious and helpful.

Great valuePosted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: The staff and location.
The hotel was easy to find on the outskirts of Bayeux town centre, about 10-15 minutes walk to the Tapestry Museum and 10 minutes to the Battle of Normandy museum. The staff were lovely, very welcoming. The room was small but perfectly comfortable and beautifully clean. There is free wifi and parking, both bonuses! We ate at the restaurant both nights, in Bayeux at this time of year a lot of restaurants seem to close Sunday and Monday, which coincided with our visit. The food was good and large portions too. Excellent value for money.

Second stay here. Not in the centre but within walking distance (if you like walking). Good wifi, easy free parking. Will stay here again.
