Quite room out of townPosted Aug 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Need a car if your going to use this hotel. Very relaxing and peaceful and on the way to the coast.

Normandy hubPosted Jul 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
While not lavish by any means, this hotel (under the new ownership of the Moignards) is ultra-friendly and centrally located for touring the many D-Day related sites in the area...staff is very helpful as to restaurants, sites and tour info. The grounds are well kept and there are plenty of ultra-comfortable outdoor lounge chairs for a nice evening cigar. I would happily stay there next time that I visit the region, especially if the wi-fi is tweaked!

Our only complaint was the difficult wifi access. Otherwise it was a great base from which to tour the Normandy coast.

A great location for D-Day beach tourPosted Jul 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
Nadine was a great host. Hotel is slightly out of town but still within minutes of town. The property was beautifully landscaped and surrounded by small farms. We just had a great stay

The first night we stayed in the handicap room though not handicapped, and took shower in the morning, and the bathroom flooded, and water also ran out to bedroom. We explained what happened to owner, and were told it was because we turned on the water faucets on all the way. There was no note in the bathroom to forewarn us of this problem, nor told when we checked in. The room was quite musty smelling. We asked and given a different room for the next two nights. That room was much better. The floors were tile, and very cold. Breakfast was ok, but charged extra for an egg which was posted on table.

Rented a triple room (1 full, 1 twin). the twin bed squeaked LOUDLY. the biggest problem we had was with mosquitos. we were there 7-8 October. the staff left the small window open. upon arrival, we killed no less than 8 mosquitos in 30 minutes. somehow more came, because i was bitten during the night. next day we left to sightsee (GORGEOUS area!). when we returned, the staff had made up our room and left the window open AGAIN! guess what we did then - kill mosquitos. it was really awful. otherwise, the breakfast was very good. they ask if you'd like eggs and bacon (European = ham). they had a small buffet with only salami/cheese/breads, but also had a custard, which was great, and a blueberry crumble. so the food was good. the folks were nice - a husband and wife owner, i think. it was quiet - they have about 10 rooms and there were 2 other rooms occupied besides ours. they made no noise, so it was a quiet stay. the gardens and area are beautiful. roses galore and just a nice small, homey feel. (oh, the breakfast area also had mosquitos). no restaurant for lunch or evening meals, but there are many local area restaurants that are good (not La Marine). try the La Omaha Restaurant by Omaha Beach - OUTSTANDING! all in all, wouldn't stay there again, but it was not terrible. the best thing is the Normandy area. Breathtaking and humbling....
