Very impressed with the service, the staff and the ambience of the hotel. Breakfast was great and included in the price. Room was comfortable, spacious and warm. Bar/breakfast area is lovely. The restaurant is closed at weekends which was disappointing so we bought pizzas from the take away machine next door and sat in the hotel's social area with a few beers! Our dog was made mist welcome too!!

Most helpful staff, excellent facilities in the room, plenty of towels, large bathroom and in the morning a fantastic choice of what you might want for breakfast, from fruit salad to bacon and scrambled egg, with croissants and a very good coffee machine!

The room was very nice and very clean. Staff were very pleasant. Food in the restaurant could have been better - steak very tough. Lots of fruit flies around the food.

Great rest stop.
A spacious room with kitchen and beds in separate spaces. Ample on-site parking and a very good breakfast for the price. Ideal place to stay if you are travelling and want to avoid the traffic of the city.

Happy Customers
We stayed at the Libera Hotel for three days whilst conducting a Normandy Liberation Commemoration tour. It is located in an excellent location giving easy access to all the sites we wished to visit. The staff all proved friendly and courteous without exception, the accommodation is comfortable, eco-friendly and extremely clean located in well kept grounds. Such is our satisfaction with all aspects of this hotel that a reservation has already been made for the same period ( and room), for 2023. A good place to stay for anyone who values quality and service at reasonable and attractive prices.

Strange ultra modern modular building. Charmless architecture. Room could be chllly with cold spots.. However the rooms are large.Rooms enter from outside - so not great in the rain. Food and staff are great.

The staff were pleasant and helpful and were more than happy to answer any questions I had. The room was clean and spacious with Air Conditioning and security shutter. The bathroom was well lit and a decent size. The Hotel has a restaurant which is closed over the weekend so we went into Caen to a restaurant suggested by the receptionist. We did use the hotel restaurant and found the food to be very tasty and good value for money. We visited all of the D Day Beaches from this hotel and a few other museums. The furthest beach, Utah, was about two hours drive away. We would stay here again.

Very helpful receptionist, showed us to our room. Room spacious, tea & coffee making facilities, wonderful shower , a couple of English tv channel's and aircon/heating. Good free parking. Very impressed , the outside does not do it justice.

Loved that they were modular homes. With kitchen. laundry machines were also available to use. Staff was very warm and helpful.

The hotel was great and very unique. The room we had was on the ground floor with its own patio area. It was very clean and the food in the restaurant was very nice the breakfast was good too. The down side to the hotel was that if you don't smoke you can't really sit in the courtyard to eat as the smokers sat out there. It says that it is a smoke free property but not the case in the courtyard!. It is situated on a housing estate so you definitely need a car or we used our bikes and cycled from the hotel to Sword beach along the canal really nice cycle routes most of the way apart from the first half mile which was on a quiet road from the hotel through the estate. The guy that checked us in was very helpful and printed off a cycle map for us. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the Normandy beaches and museums

Great value
A little out of the way of tourist sites but only 5 min walk to Super U and in a quiet area. Also very easy access to main roads. Good value for money. Washing machines and dryers for only €1 each (took 2 goes with dryer but still only €3 to do a wash. We had our own detergent) Bathroom is a large "pod" which was a bit noisy to walk into and no towel rails, but that's the only negative with that. Fresh towels were provided daily. Typical French idea of a kitchenette with no kettle or toaster (just a stovetop, microwave, fridge, 1 pot and just enough crockery and cutlery). There is a restaurant onsite (but it is closed from Friday night until dinner Sunday). Staff were very helpful.

Comfortable rooms, good access to road networks
Modular hotel rooms, quite unusual on first approach but don't be put off by this very different, not your usual, hotel accommodation. Situated on the outskirts of a village just outside Caen, good access to major road links, through a small housing estate, in an area obviously under development, next door to a large supermarket, great for last minute shopping and fuel. The staff are excellent, very welcoming and efficient, even offered help with luggage to our room. Although the restaurant was closed at weekends, we were given information on places to eat in caen centre, a short drive away. The room for 3 adults had a balcony, was very spacious, clean with very comfortable beds and controllable heating, great on a chilly October evening. The modular shower room was hugh, more like a wet room. Tv only had French tv channels but no big deal to us, wifi had good signal and free. We didn't have breakfast as had an early departure, had a comfortable good night's sleep, and was great for a night stopover travelling up to Calais. Rooms would benefit from tea/coffee making facilities but as I gathered later from other reviews a kettle was available from reception but not advertised to guests. Definitely would stay here again. Thank you to the lovely young man who was on duty during our stay, he is a credit to the hotel.

Excellent Stay
Pros: 1. Clean 2. Modern 3. Great location - close to motorways 4. Large supermarket next door 5. Excellent staff Cons: 1. Wifi can be a bit dicey (the hotel staff gave us an alternative Wifi to log on) 2. Breakfast spread is a bit thin, but then there is a supermarket next door... 2. Can't think of anything else.

Perfect for overnight stay
An overnight stay on our way to the Dordogne. Perfect after a long drive and six hour ferry crossing. Recommended hioghly and there's a supermarket next door as well

Nice hotel with Excellent Staff
The best part of our stay was the staff at this hotel. Very friendly and super helpful five star service. I really liked the hotel the only area of improvement would be the bathroom in the room. It was very clean but was like a camping module functional but did not match the other decor....Loved the experience and visit.

Great for the quick stop.
Nice quiet, easy place to stay. Staff were fantastic; cheerful and eager to help. Very modern and new. Electric shutters on the patio doors shuts out all the light, so a nice quiet dark night's sleep. Room size is excellent, and bed comfortable. Bathroom wheelchair accessible. Different architecture to the building itself, like a bunch of shipping containers randomly stacked together. Parking is simple and outside. Only downfall is location is a little ways outside of Caen, so you need the car to get anywhere else. Not much nearby really to see or do. Still, if you just need a good place to sleep and rest, fantastic place. If I had to stay in the area again, would stay here.

Overall experience was not bad. The only thing I don't like is the bathroom! Because there is no real shower or tub, after a shower all the water got splashed and made the entire bathroom floor wet! Other than that, it was a nice short 1 night stay for us.

amazing stay
an interesting container hotel. comfy bed, room was spacious enough for 3 of us with big luggages. Staff was friendly with our late check in. There is a supermarket and gas station in the complex. the only concern is the bathroom drainage system was a bit off, so the water leak on to the room floor.

Good hotel for a quick stop over with friendly service and a reasonable breakfast and dinner offering. It is of fairly basic construction, but very clean and relatively new.

The hotel charged us for our stay after we pre paid through Expedia. Upon informing them of the error, they accidentally charged me two more times. I have been attempting to resolve the issue over the phone and have not gotten very far. Poor service and a dirty hotel are the usual big fears when booking an unknown hotel.....however, I simply fear this place has ripped me off a significant sum of money.....

Decent hotel after ferry crossing
We used this hotel as a base for a couple of day on way south. It was cheap and 20 mins drive from the ferry port. There is a supermarket just 1 minute walk away and breakfast was good, although at 9 euros I think a little expensive!! Would definitely recommend it as a hotel if you are having a short stay!

Interesting place, not really close to Caen but yet close enough for a Normandy stay. Lots of kids running wild all evening/night made it difficult to park. Beds were very uncomfortable and wifi rarely worked for us. Shower was very hot so that was great.

One night stay near Caen
Good hotel for one night stay near Caen for touring the D-day beaches. Clean, but not many upgrades, like travel toiletries, hair dryer, fridge, etc.

Acceptable for overnight
We were looking for a hotel for just an overnight stay, two friends travelling together. This hotel suited our needs. It is way out of the city of Caen but we had a car and it was easy to find. There is nothing of interest close to it, but that was not our purpose- we were looking for a safe, clean and inexpensive place to stay. The hotel itself if made up of prefabricated modules and does not look like a hotel upon arrival, rather a series of containers stored in a field. In fact the room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. We did not take the breakfast, which seemed overpriced for a very mediocre buffet.

A great find
Great find just out of Caen. We wanted a base for three nights to do Bayeux, Normandie beaches and Mont St. Michel. Libera suited us perfectly. Brand new hotel complex with some rooms with kitchenettes. Very modern decor and bathroom and a home away from home for 3 nights. Hard to get to unless you have car and GPS as in relatively new area amongst housing. Woirth the trouble to find it though. Bonus is new supermarket right next door where you can stock your kitchenette.

Clearly a new hotel. The room was on the ground floor & although room security was reasonably good, there was no 'spy' hole to see who may knock the door. No coffee making facility in your room. External road directions and sign posting poor.

Unusual hotel
The good: New hotel. Very quiet rooms. Pitch black with shutter closed (couldn't tell when it was morning without a watch). Very clean. The bad: Pictures are deceptive, the hotel looks like a stack of cargo containers. Window blind is like a shop front shutter. Bad pillows. Budget quality towels and toiletries. No kettle or complimentary drinks. Entire bathroom moulded from two pieces of plastic. If you get this for a good price then it is an ideal one night stay for the ferry. It took 25 mins to drive to the port (no traffic). On the edge of town near to a very large shopping complex. This is a budget hotel so don't expect luxury however very clean and reasonably comfortable.
