This was a surprisingly nice hotel, which you wouldn't expect driving into the hotel from the main road. Very comfortable stay and what a gear location near the American Cemetery.

Omaha Beach 2013Posted Oct 4, 2013
Pros: I had a nice room with a balcony overlooking the golf course. Funny thing, I was the only occupant in the wing I was staying for the night
Cons: Better accountability of room availability
Location: The hotel is located in Normandy, a short drive from all sites, it was great!! Very nice resturant as well
I had spent a night at a different hotel in the area and was unable to stay there a second night. I opted for the Mercure from previous stays at others. Upon arrival at the hotel I was informed by the desk clerk that there were no rooms available. I then decided to try something. I used the hotels Wifi from my car and got on my laptop. Looking at Expedia I found that there were rooms available at the Mercure, so I booked a Deluxe room for the night, then went back to the front desk, and they confirmed that I indeed have a room, so I was set!!!!

Nice place to stayPosted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: Clean and modern
Cons: Wash Cloths with hand towels and bath towels - Larger Shower doors so that floor does not get wet.
Location: Visiting Normandy sites
I choose not to write anything here. Most of the the staff were very pleasant to deal with and helpful.

Good location for the WWII sitesPosted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed for two nights on our tour of northern France in order to visit the WWII sites in the area. The hotel is a very good base for these sites and is within easy walking distance of Port-en-Bessin where there are a number of restaraunts. Easy travelling to Bayeux and Caen and the hotel itself is very good quality.

Nice hotel BUT NOT a 4 star -Posted Aug 18, 2013
Pros: peaceful countryside and short drive to Bayeux
Cons: overpriced and underwhelmed, dark bedrooms, poor restaurant
Location: pretty Normandy countryside
Nice hotel, but not a 4 star and rather expensive at e.130 per night for the room, plus tax. Set in the pretty Normandy countryside near the port of Bessin, a short drive north from Bayeux. The hotel sits aside two golf courses - ideal for the golfers! But be careful with the rooms. Some on the ground floor can be a bit dark and dim. The room décor (dark red themed) also doesn't make it very bright. There is also a pleasant outdoor swimming pool. You might be better specifying an upgraded room with a balcony. Also paper cups in the rooms, not exactly a 4 star hotel - with all that Normandy porcelain around a proper cup would be much better! We used the restaurant and the food was OK but we felt over-priced. It was nothing special and there are many better restaurants in Bessin or Bayeux. Go there instead. We had the buffet breakfast which was the standard ACCOR/Novotel style and fine to get you started for the day.

Beautiful propertyPosted Aug 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
We very much enjoyed our 3 days in Normandy - this hotel is close to the landing beaches, but also sports what looks like a very nice golf course, and a spa. The on-site restaurant saved us the night we arrived. The only issue is the elevator - if you're on the ground floor, or in rooms along the right side, the elevator is available, if your room is in the other tower, thought, plan on carrying your luggage up at least one flight of stairs. Breakfast was beautiful and plentiful, but be warned - you'll be charged 14 Eu per person (that wasn't clearly communicated when we checked in). I would still come back....

Tucked away in the middle of nowhere, close to all the historical sites. Comfy room with small entrance into shower. Hotel offers alot for family fun. Nearby waterfront town is the place to eat.

Great friendly hotel with character.Posted Jul 28, 2013
The hotel while older style is amazing for its friedliness, attention to detail and great local atmosphere. We were traveling with two young children....the room had a queen bed for us,a bunk and a single for the kids. The hotel could not have been more welcoming to the children....a gift for them to choose on check in......and a special surprise in the room. They loved it. Thanks to Patricia for helping me park.....patient and lovely. Would highly recommend if you want a friendly hotel with character.
