This is the second time we've stayed here in the past four years. It's a great location if you're visiting central Cambridge and within walking distance of the train station. It is a pretty building on the outside but dilapidated on the inside (e.g. the carpet was crumpled by the bathroom door and was clearly coming up; as a sign of its age, the bedroom doors have a single Yale lock on each). The room was clean and functional but no better than that.

Stayed one night for an event in central Cambridge - and overall it would be hard to be better. Excellent room, made different from most hotels by having wooden floors and bed which could be swept under, making it really good for anyone suffering from Asthma or similar conditions. We only popped up to the roof terrace bar to have a quick look at the view as we were going out for the evening, but that is something quite unique - it would have been great to stay up there for a drink and some food as the sun set over Cambridge. A very adequate breakfast in the neighbouring restaurant/bar, with very pleasant and helpful staff (we were the only people eating on the mezzanine for most of the time we were there, so each of my 4 cups of coffee represented a trip up the stairs for them) and great views over the river towards Magdalene College. We saved a few pounds by parking in the nearby Park Street car park rather than using the Valet Parking service - it's only about 3 minutes walk. We also saved a few minutes using the stairs, as the lift was very slow.

This was our second Holiday Inn Express on this trip and the Cambridge location was just as good as our stay in Inverness. The room was comfortable and modern, slept well, the staff are friendly and helped us with a map to find our way in to Trinity College and where to park. Breakfast was again a good selection of hot and cold food and lots of drinkn options. They even had Gluten Free bread I could toast. Thank you.

2 plus small dog stayed from 8-10/3/15 whilst I attended a course at Kings college.
Very easy ride into Cambridge in the morning with surprising little traffic.
Hotel room was a little tired but otherwise good and clean. Too hot for our comfort. Poor sound insulation between rooms, but traffic noise not a problem even with windows open.
Very disappointed to be informed at check in and not at the time of booking room (through Expedia, with no cancellations or changes allowed) or confirmation, about unacceptably high additional cost per night for our dog.

This is a small hotel conveniently located near the train station. It describes itself as a budget hotel and it offers its services at a very competitive rate in comparison to others in the area. The rooms are quite small but hey, this is England and space is expensive (Eng-land means "narrow" or "tight" country in German) :-)
I wanted a place to stay overnight in a single room for business purposes at a reasonable price and found it. I did not expect any luxuries and found it to be OK, very clean and with friendly staff.
The breakfast was cooked on the spot and was very nice. All staff (both reception and catering) were both friendly and helpful.

Floating in the misty fens, this beautiful university city attracts hordes of visitors to its gothic spires, shady cloisters and wide open parks. In the summer, sun seekers punt along the Cam or picnic under the willows that line its banks. Strawberry Fair free music festival takes place early in June and the city's famous folk festival is in July. The view from Castle Hill is worth the climb.
