very pleasant hotel in quite locationPosted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: Its peaceful location
Cons: The room we stayed in was basic but OK . It would have been better if the chairs had been more comfortable .
Location: Location superb in its own grounds very peaceful . Very nice park and Nene valley railway nearby .
this is an unusual hotel being an old stately manor converted into a modern hotel . Standing in its own grounds some distance from any main road it enables the visitors to enjoy a very peaceful nights rest . The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was also enjoyable .

DisappointedPosted Mar 31, 2013
Outdated furniture, outdated bathroom. Definitely not worth 60 pounds/night for bed only! This is possibly the worst value for money I had in years. I ordered a burger that was an absolute disaster!

A Pleasure to stay at Orton Hall PeterboroughPosted Sep 11, 2012
Pros: Clean Towels and sheets, the welcome tray was well stocked, the room was cleaned each day. Staff were very professional and cheerful.
Cons: The Pub/Eaterie adjoining - they would not sell 1 glass of Sauvignon Blanc so had to buy a whole bottle.
Location: Beautiful location and setting, lots of trees, beautiful Mansion steeped in history which has been turned into a hotel.
It was a lovely experience. The room was clean, No problems with refilling tea and coffee plus biscuits in the room which was a lovely welcome. Towels were clean and smelt fresh. The staff were very helpful. What a refreshing experience.

A great value getawayPosted Jul 10, 2012
Pros: Great facilities, clean, value for money
Cons: Some staff could have been a bit more friendly
Location: Great location - near the centre and both main roads into the city
We were in Peterborough for a wedding on the Friday and stayed over that night. The hotel is located near the centre and easy to find. The main entrance and frontage of the spa are a little dated, and the receptionist not visible when sitting down! The welcome wasn't great - got my name wrong twice and was unengaging/grumpy. The room was great - clean and spacious and located in the old part of the building. We only had breakfast at the hotel (available until 10am) - and this was a well stocked buffet style in a very pleasant dining room, Radio 2 was playing in the background. Staff were friendly and helpful. We spent the rest of Saturday in the spa - with a good size swimming pool, relaxing area, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, as well as a couple of cross trainers available. The spa area was clean and well maintained. Tea and cold water and magazines were provided. Spa treatments need to be pre-booked as no spaces were available the night before or on the day.

Would never go backPosted Mar 21, 2012
The room was cold, the windows were wide open on our arrival at 9pm one of the windows would not close properly. It was a chilly night. There were no electric blankets, no additional quilts, there was no high speed Internet ( intermittent dial up at best). The front desk were not helpful or welcoming and in the morning my car was totally covered in bird poo that even a car wash couldnt shift. A huge waste of money cleaning the car twice along with a very bad nights sleep where no body really cared. I would never go back.

I stay at Orton Hall regulalry. The staff are friendly and efficient and rooms are always very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is sometimes buffet, sometimes table service with plenty of choice.

AwfulPosted Nov 26, 2011
Hotel is old, probably nice place to have a wedding but rooms need updating. Bathrooms are in need of a refurb and rooms cold. Rooms could do with a paint and feel cold. Food awful , everything microwaved or deep fried. Awful. ONly stay because the only option near there is marriot which is double price. Breakfast options limited unless you like fry ups.

Needs an elevator or at least an oxygen mask once you reached the first landing. Counted 46 steps to our room with two full suitcases.
