All was very good, except for one night when I went out for dinner, I came back and no one was at the hotel and my key wouldn't fit in the lock! I was in a bit of a panic, but luckily two very nice gentle man came to my aid. I am quite sure the problem won't happen again. The owner was away. When he found out he promptly rang me to apology. Thank you.

Posted Sep 13, 2013
I booked a twin for two of my guys who are installing insulation systems a twin with bath. They were given a double. They had to get a single bed and put it in the double room. They couldn't move if was so small. My confirmation says one twin for two people. With bath. I don't know if it's expedias fault or the hotels.

Noisy room above the bar

Posted Aug 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Initial room had no ensuite - bathroom very dirty shared with several others. Second room above noisy public bar with juke box music. Room not cleaned during our 5 night stay ! Bed linen stained and holed . Breakfasts great though and helpful with food intolerances.

Tea/coffee making facilities were provided. An early breakfast was provided by special request, and was very good. Car park is large and spacious. Bedroom would benefit from bedside reading lamps, which switch from bedside. At present you have to get out of bed to switch off the main light.

Issues which not encourage us to stay again.

Posted Aug 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
Only stayed on night. This hotel certainly has issues with cleanliness - stain on carpet, dirty pillows, dirty kettle at side of the bed, grubby paintwork Shame really, hotel is in a good location and the staff were very polite and friendly. We are in the area quite often but would not stay again.

Great service

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was lovely. Some of the furniture etc was a bit old and run down but for the price it was great.

Friendly hotel

The food and the service were fantastic. Just wish the bed had been more comfortable, the mattress seemed very old and you could feel all the metal. Close to shops, pretty old building and friendly family run pub feel.

No Frills Accomodation

Posted Jul 16, 2013
Pros: Great breakfast
Cons: Noisy (at weekends) and shabby rooms
Location: Lovely location very convenient for Ely, Cambridge & Peterborough
The room was very basic: shabby but clean. the room was not ensuite but the bathroom was close by and adequate. The room was over the entrance to the hotel and as it was a weekend, which included live music, sleep was impossible until after 1am. The included breakfast was really good and served exactly when required.
