“Cheap & Cheerful”

Good pub, nice staff, basic room, absolutely rubbish bed. It's about as comfortable as sleeping on rubble. If you want somewhere to crash and don't want to pay through the nose, this is fine. If you like camping, it'll be fine!

“Cheap digs - bring earplugs”

This was pretty basic accommodation at a reasonable price. It's a few minutes walk through a park to central Cambridge. Our room was tiny - barely room for a bed and a dresser, with nowhere to hang clothes. The bathroom was shared with two other rooms. The rooms are above a popular pub with outdoor drinking, so there was a lot of noise until closing time. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you need a place to sleep in Cambridge but don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room and don't mind some background noise than I would recommend this place as being good value.

“Funny place to be”

The hotel is very cozy as well as the pub downstairs. The music ends at a decent time and a good night sleep is ensured. Good value for money (at least for the online offer i fount). The bathrooms had just been refurbished and in excellent status.

Very kind staff. Good bar at the ground floor. The bathroom is shared, but it is very clean. A little too far from the centre part of the city.

“Cambridge pub accommodation”

I was surprised that this accommodation was on Expedia at all as it was merely one of three rooms up a fire-escape above a pub with a raucous disco each night. The lack of an en suite bathroom seemed very old fashioned and annoying too as was the failure to make the bed, renew the towels etc for night 2.

“My family would not go back to the hotel again.”

The hotel is suitable only for young people who like to go to pub to have drinks, listen to loud music and go straight to guest room after that.

“horrible experience”

I am surprised that this place was on Expedia. We always trusted Expedia as we are using it for years. First of all, this is not a hotel or motel, it is a pub with rooms on the second floor. The “separate” bathroom means one for all rooms. Don’t be mistaken! There is no soap in that bathroom and the tile edges along the bath tub are covered with mold. The heating setting on the radiator was on maximum, but it was absolutely cold in the bathroom. The shower head was installed at 5’ and was turning downwards only, with very little flow of water. Now about the room: It is the size of the double bed plus 3 feet from each side. No place for luggage! No table and the Wi-Fi can’t reach the second floor?! So if you need to use your laptop, you have to take it to the pub. As you are literally over the pub, you can clearly hear the music and your windows come out into the terrace where the smokers get their tables, so you can not open the windows, unless you enjoy the smoke coming up. There is one face towel and one bath towel for two. The bed - you can feel each spring in the mattress. I tried to cancel this “hotel” when I saw the room, but had to pay full day price as it was too late, even that the “separate” bathroom is a very misleading statement! To be completely objective, the room and the bathroom were relatively clean (if you will not pay much attention to two lines of cobweb on the ceiling) and there was working TV in the room and a kettle with cups and coffee in a basket.

“Basic, no comfort, noisy...”

basic motel-pub, no service, bathroom to share, noisy neighbors shouting till 2am when you think of Cambridge GB, the old and charming university town, you expect another environment...not recommended
