Good dinner, superb breakfast, caring staff, clean and comfortable modern room. quiet and nice location well place for the A1.

“I expected more”

I expected more from this hotel, I frequently stay in this price band of accommodation for work so I can base this on a lot of past experiences. the positives: - I had a big room - the portion sizes of meals are large - the staff were friendly enough The negatives - the room lacked any character and didn't feel as though any thought had gone into it, just beige everywhere. it looked very dated. - the room was dark, the lighting wasn't adequate - the bed was the most uncomfortable that I have slept in, springs everywhere, I woke up three times in the night with pins and needles in my arms, I presume that this was due to the mattress as it has never happened before! the pillows were flat and lifeless, I accumulated three before I was comfortable! - the food, despite large quantities lacked something (I enjoy my food but I am not good at describing it!) perhaps quality/flavour - despite having free wifi I never picked up a signal strong enough no matter where i went in my room - not that any information was in the room about the wifi or password (or any information at all for that matter!) - not even biscuits were there for my cup of tea and biscuits which i like to have on my arrival
