Nice hotel with views of the bay and waterfront.

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: We most enjoyed the ocean views and the friendliness of the hotel staff.
Cons: Nothing major. We did have a little trouble with our key and mentioned it at check out and they said they would fix it for future guests.
Location: The location is about 1:15 from Acadia National Park, just a few minutes from Belfast and 30 minutes from Camden.
We enjoyed our stay at Colonial Gables. The lady at the office was very nice and helpful during check-in and in providing information about the area. All of the rooms and cottages had decks with views of the bay. The beach was not really much for swimming due to lots of leaves and seaweed, but it was nice to walk on and scenic. The hotel was just a short drive from downtown Belfast. It was a nice place for couples or families, as there was a lot of green space for kids to play and even a horse shoe pit, while also providing a quiet retreat for couples. The cabin we stayed in was clean and comfortable, and although we didn't really use the small kitchen during our short two day stay, it was well stocked with utensils and cookware. We would happily stay there again.

friendly lodging with a beach

Pros: A little village of cottages - no two alike, in a beaautiful bayfront location.
Location: Just outside of Belfast, Me. with incredible coastline sightseeing, antique hunting and LOBSTAH!
We were unexpectedly upgraded from a motel room to one of the colorful little cottages right on the beach, pet friendly too!!

Unfortunately the restaurant was short a person for dinner for some reason and they had one person doing everything but cooking. The next morning the same person was handling breakfast service.

Our Anniversary Stay

Posted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: The decor was very nicely done. It had a coastal feel. The room was clean and bed very comfortable.
Location: Lots of wonderful seafood restaurants close by. The town had an interesting feel to it. Interesting!
We stayed one night at this quaint friendly staffed motel. It was raining more often than not, but it was our anniversary and we had to spend it somewhere on the Maine coast as we usually do. This was our first time staying in Belfast area and chose the Colonial Gable Cottages as it looked so beautiful on the website. Rain or not, we had a wonderful time. The woman who checked us in was so friendly and fun to talk to. She gave us tips on restaurants and things we might want to see in the area. The room was so cute, and decorated very coastal and it was comfortable and quaint. We had a balcony view of the ocean. What more could we ask for besides less rain. We enjoyed our time there. It was very quiet and peaceful and we wished we had more time to book a few more nights there. Very enjoyable experience!

great place to be

Pros: all the things I said above
Cons: a restaurant @ hotel would be nice
Friendly people, beautiful view, clean comfortable cottage all made me want to stay longer than was possible. But I will go back and bring the dog since they are "dog friendly" as well which moves them up another notch in my mind.
