Good value for money, surroundings disappointing.

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Good value for money.
Location: Felt quite isolated, even though in a built up area. Shopping centre nearby.
Overall the hotel was adequate, although lacked any atmosphere. Was quiet other than a few other residents. The surrounding area was quite off putting, luckily we had access to a car, other than this I would have been reluctant to leave the hotel on foot.

Good value for the money

New hotel with friendly staff. Slightly out of the way if you are visiting Florence but if you have a car it is not too far. Very good value for the money.

Excellent stopover.

Posted Apr 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
As stated this was an ideal stopover and would be more than happy to return for longer stay whenever necessary. Also helpful to be able speak/ask questions in ones own language English and have satisfactory and helpful response. Hotel was very clean, comfortable, and fair charge. Cannot fault hotel but shame about location although that made it affordable!

Low price business hotel outside of Florence

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: The comforst were very nice for the price, big room, free breakfast, free wifi, comfortable bed.
Cons: The room could use individual control for heating and A/C.
Location: It is in a Florence suburb called Campi Bisenzio. There is a mall across the street and the train station is a 12 minute walk.
Starshotel is a nice hotel outside of Florence in an industrial area of Campi Bisenzio. Although the location is not very beautiful it is convenient, with a large modern mall across the street, a train station within a 12 minute walk, and free parking. For a tourist visiting Florence it is an inexpensive alternative and easy to take the 20 minute ride by train for 3 Euros per one way trip. It is much more luxurious than a hotel of similar price in Florence. Most rates include free breakfast and free internet. For a business trip to Campi Bisenzio it is a good choice. The only bad part was the central HVAC. My room was hot and the only solution was to open the window, which made it loud (trains and occasional truck noise) and allowed mosquitos to enter. They really need individual temperature control.

An OK hotel

Posted Jan 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is in the middle of an industrial area, and I imagine is serving business travellers only. For anyone looking to use for tourist purposes, there are many others closer to the key attractions. From a business hotel perspective, it offers everything required. The room is very comfy, breakfast is acceptable, and the service from the staff is of a standard of a 4 star hotel. Overall I was satisfied, but there were no standout features of the experience.

Enjoyed our stay. Only negative was a 30 minute limit on the internet in the room, but you could still get unlimited from the lobby. Convenient to the A1, and a 3 minute drive to a major shopping mall. Wouldn't pick it as a destination, but it was a great place to spend the night enroute to the airport.

Vespucci gave us a good start to our 2.5 week Italian vacation. Close proximity to the airport was great.

Star Hotel Vespucci in Florence

Posted Jul 7, 2011 on Hotels.com
This hotel is pretty basic but if its just to be used as a base, it is fine. It is located in a fairly industrial area so there are not many sights but there is a very good shopping complex (I Gigli) nearby. Parking is handy & secure & the breakfast was fine. My only real critisism would be the overall decoration of the hotel is a bit worn. The carpets on our landing & especially outside of our room were very badly stained & it looked really bad. This was a bit off putting to be honest. As above, if it is just to be used as a base, it is fine. Upgrading of the hotel in general is required now!

Not a good neighborhood for tourists

Posted May 4, 2009 on Hotels.com
The hotel was nice, and it's quite a good deal if you have business in Campi Bisenzio. However, if you are visiting Florence, this is not a place for you. The hotel is out of the way, in a neighborhood where nothing happens in the evening, and driving from there to Florence is complicated.

clean but most certainly not in the heart of Florence!

Posted Dec 22, 2007
The hotel is like your average american hotel and they have a pretty nice breakfast buffet- when it's stocked. But otherwise it's far away from Florence. Stay here if you're renting a car, otherwise you'll have to walk at least 10 minutes to the closest "train station" (a platform) and it's rather desolate after dark. They say it's in a business district, but it's more like an industrial area. No easy access to buses or taxis. Good luck getting around without a car!
