A lovely, peaceful break in a very nice hotel a convenient distance away from the bustle (although in October, much of the "bustle" has subsided. San Baulo is the quiet end of Can Picafort. It has many very good sea front restaurants and a good mix of sandy and rocky shore.
At the north end of Can Picafort, the reed beds and waterways of the Albufera are a terrific contrast to the sea and sand of the beaches.
The location is within easy reach (by car) of Pollensa and Formentor to the north, and the many callas to the south. For people with an interest wildlife, Salinas is well worth a visit. Birds which might be seen include flamingos, egrets and marsh harriers.
Visiting at off-peak times of the year is wonderfully relaxing. I suspect that, in high season, the ambiance would be quite different!

Just returned from a quick weekend staying at this hotel. Was pleasantly surprised. It's far from the airport but the hotel is nice, the staff was helpful, and the rooms are clean. I would definitely recommend!

"Friendly and comfortable high quality facilities "
We read some previous reviews after booking and came with some trepidation. We needn't have worried. We stayed for 5 nights at the beginning of June and cannot fault the hotel or staff.
The food is good and plentiful. Fresh fruit is in plentiful supply at all meals. There is a hotplate providing a variety of freshly cooked meat and fish at dinner and lunch in addition to the prepared dishes. Dinners are based on a different theme each evening. Drinks and wine are perfectly fine. Pool is nice, lovely flowers growing around it.
Reception staff are friendly and very helpful, check in was quick and efficient and we were able to check in early.
Our room was on the top floor facing the sea which we could see, but as the hotel is two streets back from the sea there are buildings in between. The room was not huge but perfectly adequate. Good bathroom with shower over the bath. Plenty of toiletries. Kettle was provided and tea, coffee etc. A large bottle of water was there when we arrived and there is a fridge in the room. TV channels included BBC1,BBC 2, ITV 1,2 & 3.
The sea and beach were spotlessly clean and less than 5 minutes walk away. Lots of shops cafes & restaurants nearby prices were very good. We had a taxi transfer both ways from the airport which cost 70-80 euros. It took around 45 minutes so if there are a few of you, well worth it. Taxis are either pre arranged fares or on a meter. Good buses around the area run from just up the hill.
A very enjoyable stay, recommend

A very clean hotel, with a fantastic pool (and a second quiet pool) and great entertainment for kids and young families. There are plenty of activities, and the daily evening entertainment was varied, but it is so loud that we ended up timing an evening walk for that time so we could avoid the noise.
The room is very spacious for a couple, bathroom which is well equipped and a bedroom with good windows and balcony with a view over the pool. the kitchenette is quite small and unfortunately of a poorer quality than the rest of the apartment. There is no kettle or toaster, and although the microwave has a grill, when we attempted to use it to toast bread, it fused the electrics for the flat. A few hours after calling reception maintenance arrived and their fix was that we instead place the wire grilling rack over the hob (there is no oven) instead, and they warned us not to use the grill in the microwave again.
The rest of the open kitchen-lounge is spacious, the TV had many channels, most of which are in German. You'll notice this outside too, as every morning a large portion of the sunbeds around the pool had towels on them. Although the hotel says reserving sunbeds isn't permitted, we never saw this rule enforced, and it was frustrating at times when there were few sunbeds free for us to use.
The cleaning staff were efficient and the entertainment staff very friendly, however the same cannot be said for the reception staff, who with the exception of one were unhelpful.

Good hotel and staff. Beds too hard for my better half but just right for me. Needed extra pillows and it was no problem once asked. Restaurant very busy but efficient. Choices a little limited and no coffee available at evening meal.

The hotel was very clean as we're all the facilities, and the staff were all very lovely and pleasant and spoke very good English.
The all inclusive buffet was delightful, a wide variety of food provided every day. However, myself being a vegetarian, some days there were a lot less options and it was a lot of guess work as some of the food wasn't clearly labelled.
However overall it was a lovely visit, a short walk from a small beach area which was also very clean and well presented, as well as some bars and souvenir shops.
