"Centrally located, wonderful hotel."
One of the best hotels ever - perfect combination of everything. Excellent service, excellent facilities, excellent location. Free coffee, hot chocolate, tea, mint water, snacks - all day. L'Occitane bath products. Every room is different. Perfectly maintained hotel, although I know this hotel has been around for a long time, nothing feels worn - everything feels perfectly updated and comfortable and pretty. Highly recommeded!

"Wow, what a beautiful boutique hotel, great staff!"
Everything from the friendly/helpful staff to the beautiful towels and linens was perfect. The Master suite was wonderful to wake up in and the bathroom was so clean and we'll appointed. The bathroom fixtures in these suites are so solid feeling and the water pressure and temperature are both easy to control which is so important in some parts of Europe (especially the places where it isn't good). Everything smells good in this hotel (I know that is a strange thing to say but when you have traveled a long way and been in airports and trains a good smelling place is such a good thing). The bartender made us the BEST Gin/Tonic EVER and even shared his secrets to how he made it...I have now adopted his recipe as our favorite G/T on the deck at the cabin. Excellent location for access to all of Old Amsterdam as much of the beauty is right out your door. A fantastic place with amazingly helpful staff....loved it!

"Excellent Boutique Hotel on Canal"
The Dylan is the perfect boutique hotel! It's located in the center of the "9 Streets" District - the heart of Amsterdam. Incredibly attentive staff, knowledgeable concierge who listens to what you want and provides options that fit perfectly, amazing rooms with high-end finishes and ammenities (Illy expresso machine, heated bathroom floor, bluetooth Bose stereo . . .), tickets to museums, nice fleet of bikes to rent, great restaurant and courtyard . . . the list goes on!!

"Nice hotel in Center of city"
The staff was amazing. Very warm and welcoming. Very helpful. I asked for a quiet room and they accommodated me. Now, having said that, despite being in one of the quieter rooms, you should know there's a lively bar that operates right on the corner and you will hear some of the late night drunks hollering. It's not too bad but it's likely you'll hear some of it. The biggest problem I had is that the cleaning staff has closets next to some of these rooms and if you're trying to sleep in you can hear them banging things, doors, thumps... I just think the walls aren't very thick. But the room was very nice and clean. The pillows and bed were very comfortable. They use a cleaner that has a soft pretty smell so after they clean it really smells very nice.

"Excellent small hotel within easy reach of centre"
Excellent small hotel and just a short tram ride to all the amenities and atttractions. Trams a very inexpensive and the hotel reception sold 24 hour tram passes for 8 euros. We went to the Richt Museum, the King's Palace and the Aris Zoo. All very good value for money. Talking of money, the banks do not change currency so you need take a tram number 7 or 10 from right outside the hotel to the next main square for a Bureau De Change. Food and drink very reasonable a nice cafe opposite the hotel and an excellent Italian restaurant a short walk further up the street.

"Excellent service close to evrything"
The only reason I gave this hotel a 4 in comfort was because of it's modern amenities, which is not my style. But the room was well appointed and felt brand new. A little on the small side, but functional. The staff was friendly and always went of their way to make sure you were taken care of. You can walk to all attractions.

"Exceptional hotel - the Picasso suite is amazing!"
This hotel is just gorgeous. We were very fortunate to stay in the Picasso suite which is enormous (by any standard) and has lovely views of the Prinsengracht canal. The bed and sofas in the suite were very comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Very highly recommended indeed.

"Romantic room in great neighborhood"
My wife and I had a wonderful experience in our two nights here. The staff was very helpful in making recommendations and even were able to get a local restaurant to keep the kitchen open late for us upon arrival. The room is well appointed and conducive for a romantic getaway.

Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam

"Fabulous hotel in great location"
The Waldorf opened in May of 2014. We visited in July so the hotel was basically brand new. The hotel is well located on one of the quieter sections of the Herengracht canal. It is accessible to museums and restaurants. The hotel is beautiful with a lovely garden at the back. The owners put together six town houses in assembling the hotel. There are some quirks because of the historic nature of the houses. For instance, we had to go up one story to walk across a hallway so that we could descend two three stories to our garden room. But the room was comfortable with a very large bathroom, couch and lots of light. Hard to imagine how the room could have been any better. The hotel is pricey but worth it.

Pocket Guide: Canal Ring, Amsterdam Boutique Hotels

The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic much–photographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
