“Value for money”

This hotel is good value for those who have a car. Its in a quiet area, slightly out of Canberra CBD (7 mins drive) so you need a car. For those with lots of luggage ask for a trolley 'cos its not a motel-car parking is close but not right outside your room (this was not a worry to us-upside is no noise from early leavers car engines). However the value is there-4 star, mini-bar, no charge for parking etc. The old fashioned touches are there-real milk (not those horrible pasteurised smidgy pods!) and some biscuits. The restaurant is not open on a Sunday night. However, pluses are German club and golf club within walking distance. Its a short drive from Manuka-which has lots of shops, range of restaurants, Coles and cinema. Beds comfortable. Fittings recently updated and modern.

This was a very positive experience. We did find it a bit hard to find so It could do with some street signage. This was an excellent hotel 10- 15 minutes to the Centre of Canberra. Staff were friendly and the rooms were very comfortable and spotless. I would certainly recommend it and use it again. Very good introduction to the Best Western chain.

“Comfort in the Garden”

My wife and I had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. room, facilities and service were all excellent. Bar and swimming pool were also very good. It helps to have a car as I could not find any public transport to get into town which is a couple of km away. Only improvement I can think of would be a later check out time. I feel 10am is slightly early easpecially if you have a late flight. Overall a very pleasant experience!

considering the price of other hotels we stayed at in Canberra this one offered excellent value for money, clean and efficently run with modern furnishing and pleasant staff, good on site resteraunt and excellent fair at the German club next door, parking was a little on the limited side but we always managed to get a slot, far better than the tired, grubby and very dated not to mention highly over priced Herritage Hotel where we stayed the previous night, aledgedly 3and a half stars, I agree with the half, the other 3 must have involved a large bribe to the awarding organisation. AVOID AT ALL COST

“A nice Canberra Hotel”

I have stayed in Canberra a few times - partly holiday and partly family business and have not been terribly impressed wherever I have stayed, usually in the city centre. This time I went for covenience only. I was pleasantly surprised with what at first sight appears as just a Motel. I was very impressed with everything in the hotel. Not only was the hotel famric excellent, but the staff were models of pleasant and helpful efficiency. Food was great in the restaurant and I have never been given such a huge breakfast! If/when I go back to Canberra I will seek out this hotel first. it is in the suburbs, but I found this meant easy parking and good convenience for all the sights in Canberra.

“Excellent access to PBAC/TGA and Parliament”

Previously stayed at Diplomat but for facilities and access to PBAC & TGA this is a better option. Need to get the coffee machine in the breakfast room fixed and a TV in the gym with full selection of channels would be excellent. Value for money!

“Neat place to stay”

The hotel was neat and clean. It has a well landscaped pool, which was an excellent way to wake up in the morning. We didn't try the breakfast as we were there over the Christmas period and there was only toast or cereal available.

Staff friendly and attentive. Confortable room, clean and tidy. Hotel location is good, as you can easily get anywhere in 10/15 mins.
