Good to stay! good staff convenient!Posted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: distance to get floriade. parking space. free wi-fi. good staff
Cons: amenities.. shampoo and conditioner could be better if change any other brand..
Location: Commonwealth park. Australian war memorial
Nice hotel close to Commonwealth park which currently held Floriade. I stayed one night with my car. good parking space (under cover) nice comfy bed. Wireless is bit slow (less than 1mb) but happy it's free :D don't expect too much on amenities, bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you care. I would suggest you to bring it. otherwise room is cozy, look classic in corridor. easy to get there as well as Floriade.

Comfortable, crisp, predictable, and economicalPosted Aug 18, 2013
Pros: Continental breakfast
Cons: lack of parking
Location: New Acton is fresh. So much so it's still working on it's identity. Hip but work in progress
A new chic part of Canberra and this hotel is in the middle of it. Well positioned by the lake though don't think views, think convenient and hip. The staff are jittery, fresh faced, and charming. They deliver on service and are responsive to simple requests like extra coffee bags. Parking is probable if you arrive at 5pm though you may have to pay an extra $15 otherwise. The gym is two buildings away though a casual walk through the 'wanting to be hip' neighbourhood. And it kind of is hip as well. Sydneysiders read that it is fresh and cold so the morning gym stroll so think hoodie. whoa. The restaurant for breakfast is recently renovated under the familiar signature of scratch back and clean design. Throw in some novel lighting and again it delivers. The continental breakfast is the best feature of The Diamont in my opinion. The fresh cold meats and fresh fruit are world class. This is compliments by the bircher and pastries. The chef clearly eats here and enjoys what he's doing. My partner arrived Friday night and we had some novel fun having a relaxing milk bath at the day spa next door. Your mind and body will appreciate the relaxed start to the weekend. The Diamont is everything expected and more.

One of the better hotels in CanberraPosted May 20, 2013
Pros: New and modern furnishings, and central location
Cons: Probably could be more older customer friendly
Location: Close to commercial centre and the Australia Museum
This hotel feels quite new and modern. The room assigned was small to moderate in size, but quite well provided with new furnishings. The bed was very comfortable. The location is reasonably central, but that depends upon what brings you to Canberra. It is especially convenient for access to the commercial centre and to the Australian Museum. The service seemed to be geared for a young crowd, and as an older traveler they did not make me feel especially welcome. The restaurant had a menu limited to basically Italian fare, and I did not care much for the choice of music, and the fact that it was played so loudly (but that seems these days to be a generational problem). Probably younger customers would rate the hotel close to 5, but I would put it more at about 4.5 on the Expedia scale. That means, of course, it is one of the better hotels in Canberra..

Smart & FunkyPosted May 18, 2013
Pros: The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: The bedroom was just a little bigger than the bed! The bathroom was fine.
Location: Near the ANU & very central.
The hotel is a fun hotel very well located. The bed was very comfortable and the room well appointed - however standing at the end of the bed it was almost impossible to open the fridge. The restaurant seemed popular and there were several good cafes nearby for breakfast. The open fire in the lobby was welcoming and the sculptures were great.
