My only complaint is that our room smelled like an ashtray even when we had the air conditioner running while we were out all day. The tiny balconies were scary to stand on with very little room. So I ended up smoking outside the hotel anyway. The staff are extremely friendly, professional and always approachable. Nothing was too much to ask of them. Staying at the Hyatt definitely enhanced my experienced from being a simple trip to a holiday experience. Next time I would choose a non smoking room. Highly recommended.

The accommodation was first class - the rooms (we had 3) were all comfortable and the bathrooms to die for. We did not have dinner in the hotel but did have breakfast - the service was a bit slow but we did arrive at 10am with many other people. The quality and range of breakfast was exceptional. My only regret of the hotel is that I did not take advantage of the high tea. If you prefer the comfort of a "country club" and not a high rise hotel - this is the place to say - although preferably not at Floriad - which was the only problem with parking at the hotel.

“Great short stay”

Had stayed in the hotel years ago. This is my repeated visit for leisure. Still the same level of comfort in room, courteous staff and wonderful surroundings. I was assigned a disabled king size room, probably due to full booking. However, it's close to the lift. The room is well sealed as the weather was very cold in Canberra -6 deg c at night. Both the room and the bathroomm are spacious and well stocked with toiletries etc. I'm glad to see the green policy card in the room. It's what one expects for a 5 star hotel. Especially love the buffet bar for dinner. The main course was ok as it was a bit salty for me (double cooked duck confit) but it was not a big issue. Would love to try the high tea next time.

As the door was opened for me I was welcomed into a 5 STAR atmosphere, I felt looked after in every aspect of my stay and the courtesy extended by staff was exemplary. I have stayed over 30 nights each time for the last 3 years and over 30 nights this time and feel qualified in saying the HYATT in Canberra is truley 5 STAR in every aspect of quality.

This is a wonderful hotel, offering a sense of nostalgia and luxury, the rooms are large and the marble bathrooms are elegant. The hotel has a more traditional feel, with daily afternoon high tea in the lounge. The Hyatt is located just on the banks of the lake and only 2 minute drive to Parliament House.
