Pros: Water pressure.
Cons: Restaurant staffing numbers.
Waited to check in. Had to wait for a table in the nearly deserted restaurant full of uncleared tables. Had to join a long line for a table at breakfast to then had to join further lines waiting for plates and glasses to materialise.

Disappointing

Pros: Heated pool and comfortable beds.
Cons: Restaurant, cleanliness, parking charges.
Location: We only stayed one night so we didn't see much. We were looking for a hotel near Questacon and this is only a couple of minutes drive from there.
We stayed on Friday night and we were a little disappointed in this hotel. I was shocked to see that our shower was inside our bath and that there was a lot of mould around the bath tub. We notified reception and they didn't seemed shocked and they didn't really care when I told them at reception. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was a huge mistake. We paid $42 for the 300gm rib eye steak which was served with 2 peace's of broccolini and about a cup of powder mash potato and it was terrible and over cooked. My daughter ordered the hamburger and chips off of the kids menu and she got served 2 tiny rissoles between 2 tiny rolls with no salad or sauce and about 5 chips and that cost us over $10 and she didn't eat it because the meat was spicy (lots of pepper) - Do not eat here even if your meal is free. Also I am so confused because normally you get charged for valet parking if you use it and at here I was charged an extra fee because I wanted to park it myself..... Also staff were not child friendly, 1 lady that works there told my 4 year old not to laugh so loud at breakfast because other people were eating?? really she wasn't even that loud.

Pros: Pool and spa
Enjoyed our stay, they have a nice pool and spa, Breakfast was included in our stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. We always stay at the Novotel whenever we go or drop by Canberra.

Nice hotel close to center

Pros: The buffet was good especially with children so as the swimming pool
Cons: Perhaps updating the bathroom
Location: Very close to city center. Short drive to Parliament house and all the embassies
Stuff were really helpful. Room was good just bathroom a bit old but clean

Pros: Convenience and location
Cons: Hotel information was not in room...had to ask for it.
Location: Location was good and within easy walking distance to shopping centre and cinema.
Room was as we requested and clean, tidy and well set up. Dinner in the restaurant was good very good and staff polite and helpful. There was a large selection for breakfast and staff very helpful.

Location: Lots to see and do. We had a great time.
What a shame our stay was let down by the poor room presentation. The bathtub in our room (730), was one star quality. Rusted out and botched repair job. Dirty, badly scratched walls in need of a paint job and clean. Very dissapointing. The service, however, was five star. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the breakfast staff, not a grumpy face in sight :-), I witnessed more than one staff member bending over backwards to help the guests. The lolly bar at reception was a nice touch too. Bring the room up to scratch and although it will still be small, at least it wont look shabby.

Very noisy, could not sleep

Booked in to stay one night in Novotel Canberra. We were put in a room right next to elevator, and windows facing the busy road below. There is little to no noise insulation in the rooms. We could hear the loud music from a nearby nightclub pumping into our room, the elevator noise and in general could not get to sleep at all. We are never fussy guests, this is the first time I have ever had to complain about a hotel. At 4 am we decided to throw in the towel and just up and left to drive back to Sydney. Very, very disappointing.
