This is one of the most pleasant hotels I've stayed in. If Intimate, quiet and romantic are what you want. Stay here. The pool is very unique. You can sunbath from within the pool and there are actually barstools in the pool to an outdoor bar. It's small and quiet and such a nice place, you will not want to leave.

we had good service and the suite was good. Would have been nice if Expedia told us that the beach was being reclaimed. Doubt if that would have kept us from going. We only had breakfast there and it was a decent price and the food/service was great. Being on the north end we had decent choice of restaurants in walking distance.

Avalon Baccara Cancun is a small hotel and that is precisely the charm of it. My husband and I took day trips everyday and it was sooo nice to come back "home" every night. Everybody was nice, especially the waitress of the hotel restaurant. I would and have actually recommended this hotel

“Friendly, authentic Mexican hotel. Perfect location!”

Friendly staff, always greeted us with a smile. The hotel is located in a perfect location, in the middle of everything, beautiful ocean view. I was looking for a quiet, calm hotel that had a Mexican feel (not like the large chains) and this was perfect! After 9 nights we did not want to leave. I had read other reviews that stated the beds were hard and uncomfortable but I found the bed perfect.

“Great place”

This hotel is small and relaxing. Only 27 rooms and very nice. It felt like the place was our own place. The staff was very nice and would do any for you. We had an amazing stay at this hotel and we could also go to the Grand Avalon that was much bigger and crazier. We had best of both worlds.

The Avalon Baccara Hotel is a nice hotel with a great view of the beach. Moreover, it is very close to 2 malls and the lagoon. You can go by foot in 2 minutes. I recommend this hotel!

“Lovely hotel”

I wish I could have stayed longer, but I just stayed here 8 hours. For the few things I saw, it looked to me that it is great worth going to, small hotel. The location is unbeatable, and the price very convenient. I can not comment much, because of the few hours I could enjoy it, but I will try to do my best. Our room was really nice. Both the bathroom and the room were covered with tiles and decorated like a Mexican Hacienda.The bathroom was unique, bigger than normal. The room temperature was great, the air conditioner worked more than fine. The room even had a lovely private terrace with a rectangular jacuzzi. It had no view at all, that is why I guess the jacuzzi was there for, to compensate the lack of view. And it did. The pool, although small, looked great to me. I wish I had more time to enjoy it. All the pool area looked inviting. As you can see from the hotel pics, the Avalon is a nice boutique hotel, with great prices, and great staff.

“Every Corner a postcard”

This hotel is not for the handicapped, elderly or infants. It is a very hip, Hacienda turned hotel and visually, it could not be more stunning. Its too bad they repainted this since my last visit to a more conservative look, but make no mistake, the staff is friendly, and the hotel is gorgeous. Ignore those other reviews complaining about stairs, ants or the ever predictable "too Americanized" Hotel Zone. If Canadiens and Europeans prefer flies and seedy sweatboxes in downtown Cancun for so called authenticity, let them have it. This is no mud hut of a hotel nor is it too polished either. It is quiet and there is no time share goons harassing you. Perfect for the younger couple, honeymooners, ect.. No wonder MTV selected this for a film shoot a few years back. Love it!

“Best place in Cancun”

It's old but has lots of style. The staff were very friendly. If you're looking for somewhere different to stay then this is the place. It's definitely value for money, conveniently situated across the road from a shopping centre and restaurants though they do have their own. We loved the beach and would definitely recommend having lunch and cocktails by the pool or as we did in the pool. The only thing we could fault was that the air conditioning did not always respond as we would have liked. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the beach and would strongly recommend booking the same.
