“A Vacation To Remember!”

All staff members where over the top friendly! Our bags where taken to our room for us, which upon entering was beautiful and clean. We thought it smelled a little, but when we remembered it is an open air hotel right on the beach it didn't bother us. You smell the ocean not uncleanliness. The food in all the restaurants was delicious. Don't make the same mistake we made by waiting till the last day to go to Mexico Lindo. That was our favorite! The pool was always very clean as was the beach. We took out a canoe one day and saw huge star fish in the water, so cool! All in all we had a beautiful trip and would stay here again if we came back.

“think before you book”

i booked on a whim, regretted it soon after until I got to Cancun that is. After a terrible journey, I arrived to the beautiful Barcelo Costa hotel. I cannot fault the place, the food was not t my liking, but thats just me, it was a wonderful selection of food, and well presented. The staff cannot do enough for you, thats the best thing about the place. Beautiful ocean, and beach. I should not have booked a beach holiday, not enough for me to do. If you want to sunbathe, eat drink and be pampered, then this is the place for you. Rooms well maintained, sometimes too well, too many knocks on the door by the maids and the mini bar filler. Try to avoid getting a room above the main reception area, very noisy with entertainment at night, a pleasant noise though. I travelled alone and felt absolutely comfortable there.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and maintained very well.Beach is a little small but very well kept.Staff wen't beyond the call to make sure we were well taken care of.Tips of five or ten dollars once in a while goes a long way.

“I would go back in a New York minute”

We had a wonderful experience. There were 8 of us, and the crew treated us like we were all queens. The food was wonderful at every resturant on the grounds. Never felt a need to leave the complex. We are planning a yearly trip, and would definitely go back. Entertainment was awesome also.

I was somewhat concerned about my choice to stay at the Barcelo Costa hotel based on all the mixed reviews it got. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Me and 3 of my friends (we're all 25yrs old and out of college) went during college spring break so we knew what we were getting in to. Getting a prime spot at the beach or pool was a bit difficult and there was also some competition at the bar, but if you tip them (which no one was) you'll get better service. You have the option of eating at the buffet or making reservations at 3 different restaurants for dinner ( but you do have to get up at like 7am to make those reservations). The buffet for breakfast was good, lunch was not bad, dinner was interesting. We ate at the seafood restaurant and the mexican restaurant, both were great much better than the dinner buffet! The room was fine, one of my friends complained about the mattress being too hard. We did have one issue with our door, it didn't lock! You could literally just push it open, but it was fixed immediately. One night we did the party bus tour which took us the 3 different bars and the cost included all the drinks. That was just alright, it was just so crowded - like they were herding cattle. The drinks were weak, the people were comical but that's what we get for going during college spring break. I'm sure it would be better if we hadn't have gone on a weekend or even during spring break.

The Barcelo was the perfect hotel for our family. It offered top notch friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. We can't wait to go back.

“Better than we expected and will definitely go back!!”

The check in staff were very friendly and it was easy to understand what information they needed and a quick process to check in. The concierge desk also called a few minutes after we arrived in our room to see if everything was okay. I had not heard part of the directions about the electricity and they were patient in explaining what I had to do (I'm sure they get that question a bit from inattentive tourists!) to get it working. The a/c worked better than I had expected but I thought the bed felt a little firm. Outside there were a variety of activities to watch or be a part of. I also liked that local vendors were on site in the evenings to do souvenier shopping at reasonable prices. The hotel was very clean and the beach is right there--I don't think you even could say you have to actually walk to the beach. There are more than enough chairs on the beach but a tip about the pool chairs. Claim a chair early and then go eat breakfast to ensure you have a chair and especially if you want a certain part of the pool. The pool is large enough for a crowd without everyone having to step on each other and they give down time from pool activities to just relax too. The food presentation was that of master chef and wonderful to eat as well with a large variety. We met great people here and are planning to stay at Barcelo again. We definitely felt safe during our stay. Thank you!!

“Costa Cancun spells P-A-R-A-D-I-S-E”

Unbelievable place -- sun and beach and drinks and good food and great service. I started to lose track of time while I was there (and no, it wasn't the alcohol because I wasn't drinking alcoholic drinks) and I wondered if I had ever felt stress before, because I sure couldn't remember any after I had been there a few days. The rooms are lovely, and I highly recommend February for good weather and a good crowd.

“Spring Break”

It was an amazing time for spring break. The bartenders were great. The beach is small but clean and nice. Easy to taxi into the strip or take the bus from the stop right outside.
