Pool and Beach area is excellent.

Pros: Pool and Beach area
Cons: The food.
Location: Didn't leave the resort other than to walk down to Hard Rock for a t-shirt. Shopping on sight is minimal.
Food was not up to what I would expect for this type of resort. Most of the buffets were not hot. Breakfast was the best meal. Room was marginal. Shower leaked and showed signs that this had been an ongoing problem. The doorwall lock was a joke and we had to move the desk to block intruders because anyone could have busted the lock. Cleaning was a joke. With that being said, the pools and beach area was nice and the bar service was good even though they don't come out around the pool to take your order.

Location: Lots of things to do.Very well situated. Close to all the restaurants and night clubs. Plaza Kukulkan is just in front the hotel with nice restaurans
I had a great experince.. nice rooms, very comfortable bed and pillows, super clean. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The staff was great very pleasant - I miss them. The food was good. The guys that do the entertaining by the pool were great. The shows were very good and the service was amaizing. Planning to go in 6 months!!!

Pros: The staff was very friendly. Antonio and Lucia were awesome!
The food was disappointing. The buffet was pretty much the same. The other restaurants were not open most of the time.

Staff great, hotel not so

Pool was nice but no music or fun activities. Food was the same everyday, breakfast, lunch and dinner! There was no food after 10pm. Bars always open! Amenities: rooms could be cleaner, water pressure horrible. Bathrooms throughout pool areas were always dirty and or not working. I would not recommend this hotel not ever go back!

Very loud and missing jewelry

Room must have been near laundry room and cooling system, lots of noise. Also ended up without a pair of earrings and my engagement ring, both were packed in my luggage.

Pros: food was good and staff was wonderful. beautiful beach area.
Cons: rooms, rooms, rooms.
we traveled to cancun in a group of 7 girls. this is about my 10th time to the area. this is the worst hotel i have seen yet. the standard room is BAD. the premium oceanfront suite is also not good, i would say it worse than most standards and much more expensive. we eventually paid to upgrade to the 2 bedroom villa which was acceptable. the hotel itself could use a lot of work. the staff was wonderful and we also enjoyed the food, much to our surprise, after seeing the condition of the hotel and rooms. everywhere we ate was hot. i know its mexico, but it was uncomfortable. pool chairs appear to be on their last leg and very very old. the pool itself was always clean and the beach was magnificent. i would probably never stay here again though. there was only 1 waiter at the pool all day, edgar, and he was great. we felt sorry for him. crazy to have 1 bartender and 1 waiter all day, thats it.

Hotel is close to everything

Our experience was amazing! The hotel was in walking distance of the bus stops which took you everywhere you wanted to go. We were extremely pleased with Carlos in the restaurant. He was our absolute favorite. There were days when we went to have his drink "The Boom Boom" and no food. He made our stay pleasing and he was the wait staff so he didn't have to go above and beyond, which he did. The hotel staff upgraded our room, no charge, which was a pleasant surprise. We got a room facing the beach, which was awesome! There is no air conditioning, or so it felt, in the hotel, which made it hot and humid, but they kept the cold drinks coming. The rooms were cooler, but I live in Texas, so anything is cooler than 100 degrees. Although you're in Mexico, be prepared to not eat Mexican food in the buffet restaurants, except on special days. Overall , I enjoyed my stay.

Friendly staff

Pros: I enjoy the diversity of the other guest. There were people from South America, England, Poland, Japan, etc.
Cons: Possibly activities around the adult pool durring the day
Location: Good location in the middle of the hotel zone and a mall is right in front of the entrance.
This was our third stay at the Barcelo Tucancun hotel and each time was a pleasant experience. It is not a party hotel but there are activities around the pool and a nightly show. The staff always greets you with a smile and they make sure you do not need anything.

Nice hotel bad food

The Hotel was nice, beautiful view, beach was very clean and quiet. There's a lot of hotels by the beach and this one is nice and clean. If you wanna PARTY, THIS IS NOT THE HOTEL YOU WANNA STAY IN. This is more families and is very entertainting during the day with so many different activities in the pool. In general, the food was really bad, the fish, chicken, etc. really really bad. Nobody gave me a good customer service, servers at the buffet work on tips so they thought i was no gonna tip them because i'm young. Wrong! The hotel smells like fish, probably because is by the beach, ir because i kept the smell from the buffet. But overall i recommend this hotel if you are just planning on being by the beach and drink and relax.

Pros: the staff I travel about 330 days a year and this is one of the best staffs I have ever encountered
Cons: food quality and menu
Location: about any activity you could want something for everyone
staff was excellent room and food left a lot to be desired very nice property for a family setting other than air conditioner worked but very weak if you want a hot shower plan on turning the water on 20 minutes before you get in dinning room is to small for the size of the resort and if you like chicken pasta and hamburger for an all inclusive this is the place to stay don't expect a high end menu
