Nice hotel on the beachPosted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: Location. Our room (2004). Food. Beach&pools.
Cons: About 20% of the stuff should be thought how to behave or they should be fired (unfriendly, lazy & ignorant). Fortunately there was very nice ones too
This is a nice hotel located on the beautiful beach behind a mall, pretty close to all the happening. We were really lucky with our room, just loved it - it had huge deck instead of a balcony (we did not even pay extra for it) with ocean view and was located in a quiet part of the hotel. We also liked the food, there was a lot to choose from. The stuff was mostly very friendly, but unfortunately there were a few very lazy exceptions (not all the people work with same enthusiasm, just like anywhere else).

Needs a hot tubPosted Feb 25, 2014
I loved the fact that the hotel was right on the beach. Everything was clean and the three pools were a nice option. Check in took a little longer that I thought but I think the hotel was almost at capacity. As a Minnesotan, I would recommend them adding a hot tub or two to the facility. We love sitting by the hot tub with a drink in the evening.

There are way better hotels to stay atPosted Feb 25, 2014
The hotel is completely below average when compared to other resorts that we have stayed at. The food is mediocre with minimal options and there is not much offered in terms of hotel activities. They do not even have a gym. However, the worst part was when our trip was ruined on our last day before check out when the hotel sprung an extra person charge of $104 USD per night. There was no mention of this fee when the two of us checked in. The hotel staff wouldn't compromise with us even after they admitted making the mistake of not informing us at check in. After lots of stress and discussion Expedia helped us get the hotel to drop it to $30 extra per night as comparable to the rates online. I would not recommend staying at this resort.

The worst place to stay at! Will ruin your trip!!!Posted Feb 16, 2014
The worst hotel I ever stayed at, the staff is rude and completely unprofessional! The reception desk has lines of people on it at all times! Be prepared that checking in will take you 45 mins or more due to that reason. The Food deserves a separate article... It can be called an appetizers, but not the meal. All restraunts there have different names but "menu" is the same everywhere. Internet is big deal in this facility be prepares to pay $12usd per day, and it won't work in your room. Also be prepared to pay extra If you wanna use room safe for your belongings, you ll have to "rent" a key to the safe. The staff will not care about your simple needs or request they just dont care and it shows. So avoid this place at all costs, if you don't want to ruin your vacation

Average Hotel next to beachPosted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: Close to the beach and nice pools.
Cons: All the staff should be informed regarding the resorts "activities." I asked a question, no one knew the answer. Need better quality food and drinks.
Location: BEST deals on knick knacks at "plaza de fiesta," just past the convention center. Don't bother stopping at flea markets, its a rip-off. Go to Xel-Ha
We were given a ocean view room which was a pleasant surprise. The pools and the beach were lovely. The staff were pleasant and informative. And the cleanliness was good overall up to the late afternoon when they ran out of towels in the public bathroom areas. The mediocre part is the food. The buffets were sub-par; catered to the american diet of many fried items, cheap cold cuts and meats. Even the "reservation only" restaurants were disappointing. You can tell they "cross utilize" many of their inexpensive ingredients... The fresh fruit and brothy soups were the most enjoyable. The games and activities they had by the pool were entertaining, whether you took part in it or were just enjoying watching people. The spa at the resort was very disappointing, definitely not known and won't be known for their spa packages and services. We had over-priced pedicures done, detail to toe nails were great, but overall "spa" experience and for the price was regretable. (the service did not automatically come with a leg/foot massage, which is standard these days)

Beautiful hotelPosted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Location and pools.
Location: Close to malls and bus
Location: great. You can walk to malls but on the lovely beach of Cancun. Hotel: clean, maintained, nice layout. Rooms: ample space, refrigerator (refilled daily), but you want an ocean view or otherwise you are looking a lagoon over the mall - we were upgraded at no charge upon arrival. Double bed is a small double. If you are looking at renting a villa, we looked at one and they seemed very nice, but you probably want to stay away from pool area...pool music starts at 8am Staff: super friendly and accommodating. Tip well and you will get great service. Check in: incredibly slow. I have stayed in hotels in Cancun many times, and throughout the world, and I have never encountered such slow service, friendly and helpful, but slowwww. It took over 1/2hour to check-in and we were the only one being served. Food: dreadful. Repetitive, tasteless, cold, lacking of the basics (no bacon), sauces on so many of the foods, but still tasteless. Doesn't matter I which buffet or restaurant. There are times when no food is available (between breakfast and lunch and after dinner) or snacks. We complained about food, and we're offer an upgrade to a villa, but took complimentary internet for a few days. Entertainment: some limited activities. Extra costs: room service, internet (way too expensive) which is available throughout hotel. I would consider returning, but the food was so poor, I would really want a good deal, because I would be eating out of hotel

No night life. Older hotel but nice staff. Slow pace overall. The weather made the stay relaxing. Food...don't get your hopes up.
