A bit disappointed.

Pros: My room was really nice, great ocean view and comfy king sized bed.
All around okay experience but a few significant misses: 1. Food was just okay, safe but not particularly good. 2. The staff service was generally okay but front desk staff could use some training. 3. One lobby bar in the evening, that's it, no dance floor etc. They push getting everyone out in the evening to one of the Cancun clubs for a 60-80 US$ additional fee and I think this is why, they make a ton of fee money this way and you're not drinking the resorts liquor, a savings 4. Did not seem to be a hot spot for Canadians or people who spoke reasonable english, lots of beautiful non english speaking Russian model types though.... 5. Incredibly depressing Christmas music in the lobby bar, after one drink you felt like leaving. At least play some lively Christmas music if the Christmas theme is the push!! 6. After paying 30$ for 4 days of wifi I would have expected it to be a good signal, it was not. Also, you are limited to using a code which could be used with only one item at a time, which is a pain

Family Vacation

Cons: Employee attitudes (they are so rude!!!!!)
Location: Location is ok you have to take the bus to get to the Centro and the Mercado. There is a mall literally right in front of hotel but it is expensive
Hotel is very run down and needs facelift for sure. The front desk employees are very rude and are not very helpful. The waiters in the restaurant are very good and bring your drinks quick. The pools are very nice however, the beach area is not kept up. Most of the beach chairs are broken and a bunch of seaweed everywhere. We did have water for a couple of hours and no warning. They have a really nice after hour lobby area for drinks and appetizers. They have a pool table which they charge to use. (Why) The hotel is right behind a very nice mall. So your front view is the back building of a mall. It is very expensive do not buy unless necessary. Take the bus to the Mercado 28 it's only 9 pesos in the bus takes about 25 minutes very smooth and nice bus ride. Look for the Fiesta America Stores near the nightclub area very cheap.

All inclusive hotel with a low quality and not so low price. Nice location and acceptable weather during last week of November.

Beach and pool focused

Pros: Good pool, great view.
Cons: Service.
Location: About $10 in a cab to get to the nightlife. But a shopping mall is out the front.
Facilities were okay, reception staff we atrocious. Very unprofessional, rude and unwilling to help. Don't bother getting there before three to check in, they will send you away. Checking out took 40 minutes. Bar staff were very friendly, and nice. Had to book early to get a reservation at the restaurant. There's probably better hotels for the same price.

Un buen hotel en Cancún.

Pros: La cercanía a cualquier punto de Cancún.
Cons: La comida y los aparatos de clima en las habitaciones.
Location: Esta a espaldas del centro comercial Kukulkan, y puedes ir caminando al Mall la Isla, llegas a la zona de bares en autobús en 8 minutos.
He visitado Cancún en 10 ocasiones, es la primera vez que me hospedo en Barceló Tucancun. Es un buen hotel, buen servicio, buenas instalaciones, lo único que falla es el aire acondicionado en las habitaciones y la comida, (bufetes), es buena en los desayunos y cenas, pero a la hora de la comida ofrecen solo snacks, en mis visitas a otros hoteles, incluso del mismo grupo Barceló, la comida ha sido grandiosa.
