Paradise in Isla MujeresPosted Oct 2, 2013
We have really enjoyed our vacation at Na Balam. We felt we were in paradise. We got what we were looking for. The beach was amazing and quiet, the hotel clean and the stuff efficient. We will go back as soon as we can.

Great location, nice 3 star hotelPosted Sep 29, 2013
Pros: Location and beach
Cons: Nothing to improve its 3-star rating to keep it a 3 star. If we wanted a 4- or 5-star we would've booked elsewhere.
Location: Playa Norte beach! Definitely rent a golf cart and go to the south of the island, especially to Garrafon Park.
We like 3 star hotels which is certainly Na Balam. It's very simple, no TV, large rooms, AC. We had an ocean view with the beach just steps away. Playa Norte is one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. Gorgeous teal water that is about 4 feet deep and seems to go on forever. The restaurant food is good at Zazil Ha. Prices are fair. We contemplated an all-inclusive, decided against it since we wanted to eat around town, and probably either way one could be happy, though next time I'd do the all-inclusive, considering what we spent on drinks. (Approx. $6 per drink, beers around $3) The grounds are nice, everything is a bit drier than it looks in the pictures but really a great place. Rooms in the garden section where the pool and jacuzzi are located are in beautiful surroundings. From seeing all the places in Isla, we'd stay here again for sure. Very friendly, hard-working people too. Don't forget to tip well! Don't be cheap with your tips :)

Nice getaway on IslaPosted Sep 25, 2013
Pros: The beach and the food
The hotel is lovely and clean. We opted for a king suite with a plunge pool and just loved it. Our maid kept it spotless and the bed was very comfortable. We were a short walk from the beach where we enjoyed the bali beds each day. The water is shallow and safe for swimming and floating. We were surprised, however, that they did not cater beverages much to the beach area and we normally had to walk into the bar for refreshments. Later in the week, we did see both drinks and lunch being served, but service was slow. The food at the restaurant was very good at all three meals we ate there and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Close to beach excellent & rooms are very largePosted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: Small, easy to get around and on to the beach. Great for family and children as the water is very shallow and extends out 200-300 hundred yards...e
Cons: A mini frige, hair dryer and ironing board would be a nice additions.
Location: It is an easy walk to Centro and good dinning areas as well as to the beach. Isla Mujeres is a very small island so one can get around very easy.
Beach access is excellent and rooms are very large but not well designed as to the size of the bath vs. the bedroom/living space as the bath could have two sinks instead of all the large bedroom area. A mini frige, hair dryer and ironing board would be a nice additions. Thus the ratings above. There is no TV, which is fine as we played cards and read and with an Ipad and free wifi you can stay up on news no problem. The staff are very good and helpful.

Beautiful Location; Wonderful StaffPosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: Location, Staff, Restaurants and bars.
Cons: A few updates could be made in the rooms. There is no tv, but I think that is actually a blessing.
Location: Playa Norte is the best beach on the island and is only a few blocks from town and the boat harbor. Great Location!
The location on Playa Norte is outstanding. This is the best beach and there are two restaurant bars on property on either side of the corner of the beach. The rooms are enormous at 600 sf. Beds were firm but comfortable and the hammock in the room is a treat. I took several naps in it. The Fenix restaurant and lounge had a great Cuban Salsa band on Sunday afternoon. On the last day, I realized that I had left my Maui Jim sunglasses at the massage tent on the beach the night before. The staff went out of their way to recover them for me before I had to catch the ferry, even though the massage therapist was off and everything was packed away.

Lots of potential, poor executionPosted Sep 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is based in a perfect location and has good facilities for its price level. However, the maintanance and service level totally ruin the experience. Examples: for 4 days we couldn't get someone to fix a leak on the sink, a/c didn't work for one night, the toilet room stinks with fumes that come out the drain pipe, there's never fruit in the restaurant and so on.

Beautiful beachPosted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: All of what is in mt review
Cons: Restaurant not so good, lazy, sullen, non smiling staff. continental breakfast was a joke. Do not pay $60 extra per day for all inclusive
Location: Beach, snorkel, whale shark tours, rent golf cart to tour island, restaurants and shops on the Main Street
Hotel is very nice. Room clean, comfortable bed, fresh bottles of water daily, mini refrigerator, air conditioner worked well. Very hot during my stay in august to swim with whale sharks so air is a must. Yoga classes in lovely setting for an extra fee,

Relaxing and beautiful!Posted Jul 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
I had been to Na Balam before for a two night stay back in 2007 and this time I was back with my husband for 5 nights. It has a gorgeous setting and it is very rustic. My partner went for his diving qualification so I spent a lot of time on the beach where the staff of Zazil Ha (the restaurant attached to the hotel) take very good care of their clients. Our hotel room was very clean, very basic (no tv) and we loved it that way. The water pressure was not very strong but strong enough. There are beautiful plants everywhere around and hammocks if ever you are tired of the beach. It is not a big hotel which is what we were looking for and for more dollars you have the option of a room with a beach view. We did not have that and it was still wonderful as the other rooms surround the beautiful pool area. When we go back to la Isla Mujeres we will certainly go back again to this hotel. Also, the restaurant offers very good and fresh food. We compared their prices with another restaurant not too far and they were comparable so we decided to eat at Zazil Ha for the rest of our stay. Thank you!

I will not stay here again! Very bad experience front the front desk, the stopped up shower drain and the smelly room!
