Relaxing resort on great blue water white beach.Posted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff and clean- lots of lounge chairs around the pool and on the beach.
Cons: Add some form of nightly entertainment, space out loungers more around pool & beach. need some chair loungers on beach and more umbrellas
Location: can catch city bus for $1 usd, comes by every 15 minutes or so. just dont go around rush hour, otherwise you will be mashed as can of sardines,
Staff was very freindly and helpful. Resort was clean and you always seen the staff keeping things kept that way. Several staff understand english which was nice since we knew very little spanish- we did have a few misunderstandings when ordering breakfast or dinner but all worked out well. We were there during turtle season so we got to experience seeing turtle eggs and baby turtles. Best Day (BD) Travel is sat up at the hotel (which is who we used to transfer us from airport and back) so we set up through them to go to Xichen (Chichen Itza) , a Zaci Mayan sinkhole, with buffet lunch and drinks. Another day we took a Catamaran boat trip to Isla Mujeres for snokeling @ the Coral Reef (my 1st time ever) and also tried to fly the spinnaker but the wind did not lift me up. We also had a buffet lunch and drinks and shopping. We even took a city bus shopping - a lot cheaper than a taxi- just suggest for you not to go 5-6pm as everyone is getting off work and bus gets packed. just let the bus driver know where you want to get off and he will let you know, also the same as you come back to resort. Marisela (pool bar) explained to us on how the bus worked and which one to take.(R2) The bar staff was prefect- Juan, Baltazar, Marisela and Yesenia took great care of us- making sure we had drinks, food and laughter during our stay.

Cancun Getaway...Posted Aug 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
My wife and I just returned from a weekend stay at the Bel AIr Cancun and I have to say I could not be happier with the results! I'd read other reviews about the hotel being far from nightlife, and complaints about signing for things even if you were on the all-inclusive. We wanted to get away from crowds so the location was ideal. Yes, we did have to sign some bills, but there was zero concern at check-out. I wasn't charged a dime extra and I can tell you the food was excellent, the drinks plentiful, and the service was probably the best I've ever received! Wait staff and customer service staff went above and beyond. Juan and Baltazar (bartenders) really made us feel welcome, and the hotel's pool/beach service was super, with near-constant attention from Yese and Marisela. On top of all of this, I'd asked for a special welcome for my wife on arrival for her birthday and the Bel Air did not disappoint. We entered our room to find it covered in rose petals and a cake with a chilled bottle of champaigne waiting on us--Thank you to Andrea and Samuel (management) for such a special trip! If you want a great (and affordable) getaway location where you'll be treated like you're special, I recommend Bel Air Cancun. We WILL be back!

Disappointing hotel by the beachPosted Jul 23, 2013
Pros: Service was good.
I can only say that I'm really glad that we only had to spend one night there. Although the room is not bad or dirty, the rest is almost depressing: Imagine you have a time machine and decide to go to 1969; you find a hotel that's trying really hard to look "modern", but is in bad shape; you bring it back to 2013 and get flat screens and new linen = Bel Air Hotel Cancun. The staff was quite polite and friendly, but I would never go back. The aluminum foil decoration is horrible.

Great for Couples and Peace LoverPosted May 28, 2013
Pros: Beach and infinity-edge pool
Cons: Room condition could have been better - maybe better maintenance.
Location: Great if when you are peace lover, early birds and coming back from a long day trip (you will be 1st to get picked up/drop-off)
Location: The hotel is located Km 20.5 of Blvd. Kukulcán. But you will be the very first person got picked up/drop off. If you don't drive, it will be about 20-min bus ride to community places like restaurants, pharmacy and shops. The bus comes every 5 mins. Atmosphere: Very airy and white. Excellent pool and beach. There is a service to set up a private dinner on the beach. Staff is helpful. Room condition is OK - can be better maintained. Food: OK

nice placePosted May 13, 2013
Pros: relaxing atmosphere, Jacuzzi suite is a must
Location: not bad, hundreds of hotels along the row, so it is what it is, no walking to anywhere, but the bus is less than a dollar and very comfortable to ride
The hotel was very small, quaint, very open and airy, quite lovely. Our jacuzzi suite was beautiful and very romantic. Twice on the day of our arrival, we came back to our room to a 'mini snack' left in the room, very nice idea, but kind of creepy that they kept coming into our room. The food was disappointing and over priced, glad we were able to bus into restaurant row for a couple dollars. Nothing to do, except lounge by pool, or on the beach. Staff were very polite, but not overly professional. The beach was stunning and not busy, the beach loungers were super comfy. Overall, we would stay there again and would definitely recommend.

buyer bewarePosted Apr 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
Their listing on hotels.com claims they provide free wifi in rooms and free breakfast. Beware! The wifi only works in the lobby and they do not provide breakfast for free. Staff speaks very little english. Service is incredibly slow. We tried two of the restaurants, food was terrible in both. Their sushi restaurant puts cream cheese in every single roll, its disgusting! No soap in the bathroom. Air conditioning broken. Balcony door broken. They play very loud pop music in the courtyard so it can be heard in every room. Music blasts through the speakers until 11pm in weeknights. The pool and beach access are gorgeous. They are the only nice things about this hotel. If you are looking for a hotel with a nice pool and beach, and you are willing to accept poor service, bad food, broken A/C, an uncomfortable bed, and more- then go. If you prefer a hotel with edible food and staff that can speak english, stay far far away!!!
