Week in Cancun

Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: The view, the attentive staff and the atmosphere
Cons: food was good but not outstanding
Location: perfect location for shopping and restaurants
My wife and I just returned from Cancun where we stayed at the Casa Turquesa. We had a wonderful time...the weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and the hotel was perfect for what we were expecting.

Perfect for the smaller Cancun hotel experience

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: It feels very fresh and new, with new management very focused on creating a great experience for guests.
Cons: The beds weren't super comfy. And the buffet, while generous, only had a couple of really decent dishes.
We had a lovely time at this hotel: Nice, big rooms. Beautiful views of the spectacular Cancun coastline. Decent pool (though more for wading than swimming) and easy access to the beach. We only stayed for a night but they were very accommodating and generous about check out times, which was relaxing.

A true boutique

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: The true boutique feel and very nice staff.
Cons: I really wouldn't change a thing.
Location: There is a nice mall with high-end stores, and two nice restaurants within walking distance. Para sailing and jet ski rental are close as well.
Casa Turquesa is a short ride from the airport in Cancun. It's on a very nice stretch of beach, with easy access to long walks past the other hotels in the area. Unlike those other places, Casa's beach is not crowded due to the smaller size of the hotel. We could come and go as we pleased without having to worry about getting a good spot near the ocean. But the best part of the hotel is its unique feel. There are high-rise hotels all around the area, but Casa is smaller and seems more high end. We loved the artwork throughout the building, including a small art gallery on site. We've been there two years in a row and definitely will be back. In this most recent year they have stepped up the already adequate service, which made this trip extra special.

Gorgeous, individual hotel right on the beach.

Posted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: Beautiful building filled with terrific artworks. Unlike all the other huge and ugly hotels on this beach. Really excellent and caring service.
Cons: Restaurant food was unexceptional and the place does not need the addition of loud music to spoil the lovely surroundings.
We had a wonderful time here and wished we could have stayed longer. The management were very keen to please and went out of their way to address the issues we had with our first room by offering us an even better one.

Perfect!

Posted Jan 30, 2015
Pros: I don't have anything negative to say about this hotel. We will definitely be staying here again when we return to Cancun!
After many hours of research, we decided to stay in a hotel that was not all-inclusive. The reason is that we wanted something quiet and did not want to feel stuck having to stay at the hotel to dine. We did have breakfast here every morning and lunch once. The food was delicious. You can sit inside with windows looking over the beach or outside where you can sit looking out over the water. Both were beautiful! We spent many hours sitting on the beach reading or playing in the waves. While reading on the beach, the staff from Casa Turquesa would come and bring us drinks and check on us. The entire staff was amazing!! We felt like actual guests instead of just a number. They cared for all our needs without hovering over us. The room was huge and the bathroom was just wonderful. We had a jacuzzi tub on our porch where we would sit at night and enjoy the sounds of the ocean. Most evenings we would walk to the open-air mall and have dinner while looking at the sunset. It is a good walk to this area and if it is difficult for you to walk long distances you can take a bus or a taxi.

Little jewel of a hotel

Posted Jan 26, 2015 on Hotels.com
For us, Casa Turquesa is a near-perfect little jewel of a hotel. Reminiscent of hotels on the Amalfi Coast that I dreamed about as a kid, it was quiet, friendly, comfortable, the staff was awesome, particularly Missey, the concierge, the beach was clean, the sea crystalline and the food delicious. OK, WiFi was a little sketchy in our third floor room at the end and facecloths were scarce, but all this is being addressed by the dynamic and charming new manager Mustafa. We'll be back!

Turquesa on the Caribbean

Posted Jan 13, 2015
Pros: the beach
Cons: see above
Location: beach, unless you like the Las Vegas atmosphere of the Zona Hoteleria of Cancun.
Expedia made a mistake with my reservation and more or less spoiled my hotel stay. I arrived at the hotel at 9 p.m. after 13 hours of traveling from the U.S. to Cancun and had a kid with the flu. I was told by the evening desk clerk at Hotel Turquesa that the room I booked: a partial ocean view, two beds, 1 adult/2 kids, had not been booked. He said it was for two people and no view and one bed. I specifically booked a room with two beds when I made the reservation. So, after something close to an argument, the hotel clerk said that since I had three people (1 adult, 2 kids) I had to pay for a different room. Since I made the reservation through Expedia and paid them, Turquesa couldn't really help me with Expedia's reservation system. The Hotel Turquesa evening desk manager told me I had 3 people and had to pay more. I had to book a different room and spend more money. I paid for the different room (too tired to argue anymore!), the tub flooded onto the patio, the guy at the beach in the morning insisted that one of my kids pay $5 to use a boogie board from the hotel in the ocean.

Thank you for posting your review. However we would like to point out that rooms on Expedia clearly state one king bed or two queen beds and the bed requests are subject to availability - it cannot be guaranteed. You are not able to book specifically a room with two beds Your reservation stated 2 people and therefore you were allocated to a room with king size bed. Unfortunately we did not have availability in the room category booked to switch to a room with two queen beds - therefore you were offered a room with two beds which was a higher room category. We apologise for the issue that you experienced with your jacuzzi. The hotel does not include boogie boards in the services included - these are available to hire at an additional cost.
