“excellent for the money”

wonderful staff. Room was clean and roomy for the price. AC did not work well. Free parking for rental car with secure lot. The grounds were well kept, did not use pool or dining room, but they looked very nice.

“Excellent Value”

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days. The room and hotel was extremely clean. The location was amazing, as we were able to do most of the things we wanted to right within a few feet!! The restaurant on the premises offers a buffett each meal and was a great deal for us.The staff was friendly and helpful.

“Don't expect much”

Make sure you get a safe in your room. If there is a safe, you must pay $2/day for the lock. Get an extra key card, because they only give you one and you need to use it for the electricity for your room in a slot when you enter. You must wear a wrist band to show that you are part of the hotel. We are scuba divers and already had our week planned out before we got there. Whenever we were in the lobby we were asked what we were doing that day and who with, because they wanted to sell us their own excursions. Quite annoying. The shuttle service to and from the airport was nice, but once you got to the hotel you were expected to meet with a travel agent type person to plan out activites. After traveling most of the night from NY, we wanted the beach and a drink, not a meeting. They were annoyed that we wanted to get outside and relax. One convienience is the little store in the lobby that sells snacks and beverages and also changes money. Just make sure they don't short change you when exchanging currency. We would have been short changed every time if my boyfriend was not paying attention.

“Good relative to the price paid”

A group of 6 stayed in this hotel between 17th and 24th June. The sizes of the rooms varied, from small to huge. Unfortunately I wasn't in the huge room. But the rooms were ok. The beds were a bit uncomfortable (still feeling the pain in my neck). The breakfast was excellent. And the beach near the hotel was good too. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, which will take you to the hotel zone or downtown. I would recommend this hotel, its no 5* but you only going to sleep there. We use to leave at 10 and get back at 6 in the morning.

“Watch out when you check in”

This place tends to overbook rooms. Our first night was lousy and spent in an old room (looked over 20 years old) approximately 300 sq. ft. without a working vanity light on a third floor with no elevator. They told us when we checked in to ask for another room the next day. The second room was fine. The poolside drinks are extremely tiny and usually weak. Watch out when you eat dinner because they pour the drinks stronger and make them larger. Food is pretty good. Beach is very nice and location is great. Staff is very courtesy and did all they could to please. The grounds are very well landscaped and somewhat secluded compared to other properties.

“i always have a great time here”

This was my third stay at the dos playas.Once agin i had a wounderful time at this great hotel. Its not the bigest or nicest but i like not have a crowd around all day. This a very basic place the food is getting better every time i go.The drinks flow free all day.If you dont need the fancy things and just want a nice relaxing place to stay this is it.If you arent happy with your room just ask nicely and maybe a couple bucks they will try to get you in a better room.

“Good value, nice experience!”

When we booked in Celuisma Dos Playas we where a litle bit worry about what we can get for a budget hotel in the midle of the 5 starts hotels in the "zona hotelera". Upon our arrival we found a very pleasent place, a modest hotel with very friendly staff and an amazing breakfast!! Room was very clean with good sheets and high quality towels. Of course you may find some minor problems during your stay but the final balance is quite positive. For example the first two days they didn't provide us with the TV remote control because there was not available, anyway we didn't have enough free time to watch TV. Internet is available only in the computers located next to the reception area at extra cost. We didn't use the swiming pool neither the beach but it looks ok for me. I indeed do recommend this hotel if you want to enjoy Cancun and save some money.

“Cheap and worth it!”

For the price that we paid I couldn't expect more, and was satisfied. Our stay included a breakfast buffet, and while the food was not superb, it did offer a variety of choices for everyone. I personally enjoyed the omelette bar and the fresh fruit. And if in the worst case scenario you absolutely dislike the food, there was always boxes of cereal and toast. The room was clean and decent for the price. Remember it is not a 4 or 5 star hotel, and we knew that when we made reservations, but for the price it was definetly worth it. No complaints!
