Hotel closed during our stay...!!!!!!!!!!!!Posted May 12, 2014
Not told upon booking that this resort was closing on May 1. Our reservation was from Apr 27 to 30..!!!!!!!!! We were assured that resort would be in full running operation thruout our stay. First day was true........second day on everything went downhill in every aspect. Each day more closed down, between restaurants, activities, entertainment, running out of liquor, air conditioning being turned off, and lack of hot water. Environment was HORRIBLE between guests infuriating and staff sadness, which they did their BEST to hide but just couldn't. Overall horrifying vacation experience.

Good fir families. Not really young pplPosted May 9, 2014
It was ok. The dolphin experience there is aimed at families and children. I wouldn't recommend if ur going with a young group of ppl looking to party. We were and were frowned at. Isn't it cancun though!!!

It's called Dreams for a reason!Posted May 6, 2014
Pros: Everything especially the service and food
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect.
Location: Right by the beach, very helpful w/ planning outside excursions, many shopping centers nearby, & clubbing - all within a 10 min. walk from the resort.
My bf & I recently stayed here for a week and we am so so happy we did. The staff was so friendly with exceptional service! There was always something to do within a 5 min. walk including grab food or a drink. Speaking of food... AMAZING! Fresh, good quality & tasted delicious. They are also very helpful with planning excursions outside the resort. The dolphin tank is just the icing on the cake :) Our vacation was romanitc, relaxing & fun all thank to Dreams Resort & Spa.

HorriblePosted May 5, 2014
I personally would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in a nice comfortable room/hotel itself. It is not as glamorous as the images appear online. It needs to be torn down and rebuilt, which I believe is in the process of doing so. Overall avoid staying here.

Wonderful Beach ResortPosted May 5, 2014
Pros: This resort had great beaches, landscaping, views, staff, dolphins, restaurants and food.
Cons: Better soundproofing the doors from the main hallways.
Location: Beautiful location on two beaches plus a rocky shore that separated them.
This was our second trip to Dreams Cancun. We went to a different resort last year, but it was not as good as Dreams Cancun. We were very happy with our room and the very friendly staff who remained upbeat even though this resort was closing and they were losing their jobs. One of the waiters even remembered me from 2 years ago. The beach was wonderful and I enjoyed swimming in the ocean from their beach as there were minimal waves and not much undertow. The three outside restaurants had great food from a good selection plus were located very close to the beaches. I will always remember watching the sunrise from our room and the dolphins swim and play on our way to and from the main restaurant. It was fascinating to stop and watch the dolphins swim close to you and turn slightly so they could make eye contact with you. We swam with the dolphins two years ago at Dreams Cancun and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are very sad to know that Dreams Cancun is closing as we would have been a yearly returning guest. Hopefully we can find another resort similar to Dreams Cancun. Maybe the new owners will not destroy this great resort. The palm trees and other plants growing inside the main building where we stayed were magnificent.

Great hotel with very friendly and attentive staffPosted May 3, 2014
This was our second time in Cancun and this resort was definitely worth every penny! Restaurants, including the daily buffet were great. The pools and beach were not too crowded and we always found lounge chairs with umbrellas. We will be back soon!

Great location, everything close by, great beachPosted May 1, 2014
Pros: Loved the food, the beach was awesome and private, the options on the restaurants, how every night was a different theme for food, etc.
Cons: The rooms could use an upgrade with better TVs. Internet wi-fi should be included.
Location: It is so easy to walk to a bus stop and take the bus inland to Walmart or other attractions. Cocobongo and other known bars are walking distance!
We honeymooned here in early April 2014, and we had an AMAZING experience. The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious! The room service takes quite a bit of time, but everything was great. The room we got overlooked the ocean, and I really think any room you get, because of the location of the resort, will have ocean views. The only thing about the rooms (we upgraded after a few days) is that the TVs are very low quality and old. It is a great hotel, very friendly, pool side bar was nice, but could have been better, and the entertainment team was awesome and fun. The only thing is that you have to pay quite a bit if you want to have access to wifi the whole time you're there, since that is not included. The swimming with dolphins is also not included, obviously, but I loved having the dolphins inside the hotel, every time we would walk to our room you could see the dolphins swim by and make jumps, even at night with no one around. Very peaceful hotel, very family oriented and romantic. Loved it!
