Great location with calm watersPosted Mar 5, 2014
Fabulous vacation for the whole family. Close to shopping and night life. Great programs and entertainment provided. Hotel staff is very courteous and helpful. Hotel needs renovation. Rooms and washrooms have an old appearance.

Beach was amazing...butPosted Mar 4, 2014
Food was not good at all, very cheap quality. Staff didn't always seem willing to help or happy to serve, almost inconviened. Pool is small and swim up bar is covered so not direct sun rays. Beach was great and the dolphin experience is really fun.

Great Hotel and Vacation!Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Great staff! Beautiful and clean beaches. Nice variety of restaurants included. Very clean.
Cons: Better sound proofing on the rooms.
Location: We ate one night at Hard Rock Cafe and went to Senior Frogs twice. Also went to the flea market and zip lining and ATV riding.
I just spent 9 days and 8 nights at Dreams Cancun and loved everything about it. The staff was always happy and nice. The beach has the most incredible sand and view, and although it was crowded, we were always able to find a seat. They have a lot of activities going on throughout the day and evening. The food was good, although we had 2 favorite restaurants (part of the all inclusive) that we generally went back to. The hotel is walking distance from Coco Bongo and the happening bar area which was great. Our only complaint would be that we were so excited when we got there because we had this great room with a view of the pool, beach and dolphins. We had no idea how loudly dolphins smack their tails on top of the water until the middle of the first night and every other night. We were woken up by them numerous times throughout the night. Other than that, I would say that everything was great at The Dreams Cancun and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Great staff, rooms a little jankyPosted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: the food the beach the servers and staff
Cons: the rooms the hotel policy for inconveniencing guest the hotel's ability to not overbook rooms
We really loved our stay at this hotel(don't get me wrong) the staff was wonderful and friendly, the food was much better than expected and the beaches and pools were really nice. We had 2 issues. 1. We booked a king room and when we got there one wasn't available and we had to sleep in a room with two double beds for the first night. This is not such a big deal, but this added inconvenience meant that we weren't REALLY on vacation since we had to pack our stuff and leave it at the desk and then move into another room. Since this was their mistake I felt like something should have been offered to make up for it. That lack of hospitality was kind of a bummer. The second issue was the rooms. The rooms were beat up! The second room we got had a broken air conditioner. They came up right away to fix it but it never really worked on high. It was fine but pretty disappointing. On the last night we were there the water was dripping so bad from the ac that the ceiling around the ac unit was soft and wet and was clearly about to cave in. All in all (since we spent most of our time eating and on the beach drinking) we had a great time!

High ValuePosted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: The gym has two barbells but no collars. Max weight available for one loaded barbell totals 385lbs. Only my bros will understand how special this is!
Cons: Gym needs barbell collars.
Five days and four nights during Valentines week with the gf. I chose the place based on other reviews praising its location e.g. great beaches, close walking distance to the club scene. Both points are true. The resort property juts into the sea at the main angle of the Cancun isthmus. Being surrounded on three sides by the sea makes for beautiful views, non-existent city noise, and steady cooling wind. We stayed on the ocean view side (not the big hotel tower), and from the room balcony there is nothing to see except sea and sky. Walking to the "downtown" clubs (Coco Bongo, Senor Frogs) takes five minutes at the most on the well lit sidewalks. The resort campus is well maintained and the staff are eager to accommodate any requests. The restaurant and bar staff pride themselves on polite, quality service with a smile. When the resort staff work together enthusiastically, the resulting positivity is contagious. The food is good. One of the restaurants is buffet-only for all three meals which serves surprisingly diverse but quality options. The other restaurants serve everything to-order in sensible portions, but are happy to take a second lunch or dinner order (I eat big). Can't blame them for the portion control, people would probably waste tons of food otherwise. I didn't sample the many activities offered because I like to relax all day, but the options were everything you could want on sea, air, and land.

Right on the beachPosted Feb 15, 2014
Pros: Staff were very good, but if you don't tip, don't expect good service from the maids or bartenders.
Cons: Wireless should be free, $16 a day is a bit outrageous, and that is per device!
Location: Great location, right on the peninsula.
Very nice resort, they have 5 restaurants, none of which focus on Mexican food, which is sad. Very good attention to detail at the resort, everything was very clean and the staff there are amazing. You can reserve dinner at Paloma Bonita next door, totally not worth it, you have a limited menu and it is basically cafeteria style food, hit up Himitsu, great beef tenderloin and sushi if you are into it. They want $16 a day for wireless, which is outrageous, and that is per device, they offer no free wireless unless you stay in the tower. Even when you do pay $16 a day for wireless you can't watch videos, so basically you can check your e-mail and facebook.
