Nice hotel by the beachPosted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: Decent location and price, nice staff
Cons: The building seems kinda old
Location: take the shuttle to the mall or towards the clubs/nightlife area
Nice hotel by the beach for the price. There are very nice hotels near by, but for the price you pay, you get a good deal. Pool is clean, staff is really nice, and food and drinks were not bad.

Smallish, wonderful hotel with AWESOME beach.Posted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: Beach was AWESOME. Food was definitely better than MANY all inclusive places we've been. Beds were good. Drinks great. Good location. Friendly people.
Cons: No clocks were in the room. More insulation in rooms to make them quieter. Bar could be closer to the beach or have beach service.
Location: Great location that was super easy to go to things nearby. Shopping across street. Great little restaruant named Tacum about a block away. Bus stops.
Just returned yesterday from a 6 day trip to this hotel. Been to Mexico and Caribean a number of times so have lots to compare to. Very nice hotel with pretty darn good food for once. We are a family of four. Two kids 18 and 21 and parents. We chose all inclusive and were very pleased with the variety and quality of food. Would not think that the food was very kid friendly though to those under about 14. They do have decent hot dogs and hamburgers and fries at the snack shack though. Al a carte restaurant is included in the all inclusive but you need a dinner reservation. Ambiance is really great and the place is clean with a very pleasant wait staff. All the bar drinks at each of the three bars were great. Plenty of alcohol and a good variety. I even had chocolate martinis that were top notch. We had two rooms, one with two double beds and one with a king. Both had good beds and good pillows. Air conditioning was a bit weird as it was always a damp cool but we were fine. The main floor where we were at was always loud so hopefully you can sleep through noise. Spring breakers were definitely partying. The best thing though was the beach and that is what I come for. HUGE white sandy beach that stretched forever. SUPER clear touquoise water that had nice waves to play in. Comfortable beach chairs and plenty of palm trees to get under for shade if you wanted it. Not a lot of activities to do, but I wasn't there for that. I was there to relax and it was super relaxing.

Great spotPosted Mar 10, 2014
Probably my only complaint would be the walls were a little too thin. We could here people walking by the rooms all night. Other than that is was a great place.

Nice Hotel close to the beachPosted Mar 10, 2014
The Flamingo is a nice hotel, clean, close to the beach. Is basic a little bit old fashion, but for the price you have a good location, and a nice beach. I didn’t try the food, I’m vegetarian so I rather go out for lunch or dinner. Overall was a nice experience and the staff was always willing to help for advice or information.

Great Food, Customer Service and Beach AccessPosted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: The food was delicious at both restaurants in the hotel and the staff was amazing and very helpful. I also enjoyed the convenient access to the beach.
Cons: The alcoholic drinks by far needs to be improved. Every drink we ordered had a nasty after taste. The decor of the hotel rooms also needs improvement.
Location: The best way to travel around Cancun is on the bus. the bus stop is right in front of the hotel and the fare is less than $1. It also runs 24hrs.
Pros of the Hotel: 1) Really delicious food (incl. natural fruit juices); 2) Excellent Customer Service (the staff was excellent!); 3) Great beach access; 4) The room was very clean; Cons of the Hotel: 1) The alcoholic drinks (they were disgusting! every drink had a very bad after taste and it didn't matter which drink you ordered!); 2) The hotel and the rooms are "dated" (could use a little paint on the exterior of the hotel and more updated decorations in the rooms to make it appear more modern); 3) The hotel room walls are paper thin (at night we thought people were walking into our room); 4) A Flamingo employee in charge of getting guests to participate in the hotel's Time Share Presentation (very aggressive each time he saw us about participating in a time share presentation on the 6th floor).

You Get What You Pay For!!Posted Mar 9, 2014
As far as the room, it was nice and had a wonderful ocean view. Water in both of the pools was quite cold, not pleasant at all. Food was good but no variety whatsoever. Their sausage was like cut up hotdogs, no bacon at all. Did have ham several times during the week we were there. Made to order omelettes were great. Besides the buffet there was only one other onsite dining restaurant. The food there was very good but not a very big selection on the menu. No english muffins, croissants or bagels at all. No salsa, could get pico di gallo but had to ask for it as it wasn't anywhere to be seen. Couldn't get coffee before 7AM. Desserts were only a little bigger than the size of a postage stamp. No cookies, cup cakes or ice cream. Not sure what families with kids would feed their kids. The drinks were not consistant, might get a good one and the next one would be terrible. Food by the pool was the same every day, hamburgers (not sure what they were made of) and hot dogs that were awful. All the food might have been okay if you were only there for a few days but we were there for a week. Resort is located right across the street from an Outback Steakhouse, Margarittaville and Bubba Gumps so that was nice. As far as being located across the street from the Flamingo Mall, nice and convenient. Be prepared though to be hounded by employees at every store begging you to come in and look at their wares. They don't like to take "NO" for an answer.

Great beach for a decent pricePosted Mar 8, 2014
Pros: Best Beach
Cons: Updating of hotel going on while we stayed
Location: Tacun street side restaurant close by that has great mexican food.
This is one of the older hotels in Cancun but has one of the best beaches. Staff friendly, clean rooms, and overall nice hotel for all. We had booked a suite and we were put up in a standard ocean view room upon arrival on the 4 th floor. They put us into our suite the following day which was on the 1st floor right on the beach. Beautiful room with a mini bar all included with all inclusive. Buffet food plain but Albertos restaurant by the beach very good.

Good hotel but it had its bad moments.Posted Mar 7, 2014
Good hotel except that the bathroom smelt like pee. Do not attempt anything down the toilet except toilet paper. The staff were nice and friendly and most of then spoke English. We stayed on the six floor which is their VIP floor. They had two pools. One of which had a pool bar. The drinks weren't that great so we had to go to margaritaville and outback. The food in the buffet was not to my liking. The food in the restaurant on the beach is great.
