Family Vacation

Pros: The whole staff! The Marco Polo Restaurant, pool and beach areas. Pool bar drinks!
Cons: Rooms could be updated. Definately new towels in the bathroom. The lounge could use an update also, the couches and chairs were soiled.
The Gr Solaris was a perfect spot for our 1st family trip to Mexico. The waiter/waitresses are hardworking, helpful, attentive, and very friendly. Please make sure you tip everyone, they deserve it, especially at the Marco Polo. They serve a 4-5 course meal each night, which you may pay at least 50.00 for in the states, so 20% of the total would be appropriate. Ask for Feliciano, he's the best!! The buffet is ok, kind of mundane after a few nights. Food by the pool will satisfy anyone's appetite. Something for everyone. The entertainment staff is awesome, they keep you entertained throughout the day and evening. My family participated in most activities; water- aerobic, bingo, trivia, beach volleyball, and some fun pool competitions!

Cons: For me personally nothing
Location: Perfect close to airport buses right there to take u into town many tours that leave right from hotel the hotel has places set up for all ur touring
Having recently lost my dad suddenly two days before our scheduled departure we had to move our trip back. When the Gr found out about my dad's passing the out pouring of messages calls etc was over whelming.This resort is not just a hotel it is home and family. From the moment we arrived the hugs and kisses and comforting words my heart holds a special place for each and every person who works there. If you never have encountered such a place check this out.

Great hotel, extremely friendly staff and beautiful views. The only draw back was the food, it was prepared nicely but it wasn't that great.

Ac set to high in show dining room Freezing cold in there: were told Could not ajust to low but had to Shut off entirely Replace concrete wall with rot iron Fencing where pool area meets Beach so sun bathers can have View of the ocean

Beautiful Hotel!

The hotel is beautiful, food is pretty good, breakfast was my favorite. The staff was really sweet and helpful! The rooms were clean, bed was a little hard for my liking but not too bad. One thing that sucked was that the waves were really intense when we were there so we couldn't really enjoy the beach, when I asked around the staff said that it was due to the location of the hotel. Also.. STAY AWAY FROM THE SALSA!! It will make you sick! As delicious as it was its not worth the upset stomach you will get..

Nice Hotel for Cheap

Cons: Beds could be more comfy
Location: Close to a bus stop that could take us anywhere
This one was on the cheaper side and the food and comfort matched it. A/C worked great most of the time we were there, until the last day when our room smelled like someone smoked in it. Bed's weren't very comfy, very hard. Bar at the pool seemed to close a bit early. Food was what I expected, some good, others not, but you get what you pay for

Hotel right on the beach

The hotel was nice. They only basically have one place to eat at night if you don't have a reservation. Sometimes there are 2 places that you have to have a reservation but always one place with reservations. They always have the breakfast buffet but have a great place the rosamorissa that is set up for "members only" in the mornings and I only saw one couple in there eating. Was not happy about there member only functions. I have been to several hotels in Cancun and have never had this issue before. We have always been able to go to any of the restaurants on the facility.

Great resort.

First time in Cancun. Glad we were at the GR Solaris. Everything was great! The all inclusive is the way to go. Just a little tip for the service once in a while. Just a dollar or two is all. We spent maybe $100 in a week, including $10 for the room cleaning. Beautiful place & people. The water in the pool and ocean was 83 degrees (that's right). I could spend all day in the surf. Entertainment every night was great! The only problem was my wife liked the music so much I hardly had time to snorkel down the free drinks. If you don’t want to have a great time, stay home and leave a little more for your kids to inherit.

Dissapointed, expected more

Cons: Noisy rooms, staff more preocuppied for clients, and things promised not given (steam room, internet)
Location: Near to the airport
I had booked the hotel under the impression that internet was included (said so during the reservation: free internet). First annoying thing, I arrive and get to see that internet is only free on wednesdays... I asked the staff to let me check my email so I could take a look at my reservation, and they said I had to pay for that. Really annoying to feel they won't help you. Food is ok, not great. The restaurant that needs reservation had worse food than the one in the buffee (didn't expect that). Rooms are noisy, you can hear pretty much everything that happens in the corridors and in rooms near yours. The steam room was not working, and you only have access if you pay for extremely expensive massages (didn't expect that either). Overall, not being the first time that I stayed in Cancun, I feel you can have a better quality/price experience somewhere else. Wouldn't recommend.

I can't begin to say enough nice things about the staff. The entrainment staff is amazing, as is Guadalupe in the lobby bar. Rooms were always clean, the bed was a little hard. Food was just okay, nothing was amazing. The nightly shows were also great. I would definitely go for another stay.
