Pros: Staff, convenience of the beach and pool. The food was delicious with a great selection.
Cons: Hotel needs an ATM machine for American dollars.
Location: We only stayed on the hotel premises.

Hotel that feels like homePosted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, food drinks, entertainment and value
Cons: wi-fi service is spotty. Not available on the balcony, but strong connection in the bathroom?
Location: Beach is beautiful. close to wet and wild. Easy bus transportation to down town.
A professional and friendly staff makes for a very pleasant stay. Plentiful food and drinks should please most tastes. Top quality service and meals at Marco Polo restaurant makes it well worth making reservations. Will certainly return again soon.

Amazing Atmosphere!Posted Mar 7, 2014
The staff was always willing to help and trying to get you involved in activities. The food was great everywhere we went and our servers kept the drinks flowing. We went as college students and we were not sure what exactly the atmosphere would be like but we were all very impressed! There was a wide variety of ages staying at the hotel and they were all looking to have a good time. I loved the pool bar and the snack shack by the pool so you could spend all day in the nice weather. There was a bus that would pick you up out front and take you down town that only cost $1 and would go everywhere. If I ever come back to Cancun, the Grand Royal Solaris is the only place I will stay!

Awesome HotelPosted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: There were activities EVERY HOUR planned out each day for the pool/beach area! Always something to do. The lobby bar was awesome & I never felt bored!
Cons: Wifi is not free and we had to pay 75 pesos just to use wifi for 7 minutes so we could Print our Boarding passes before our flight.
Location: Awesome location on the beach, within a half hour transportation to all the night clubs/downtown area.
Our experience was a blast, there were Shows close to every night in the ballroom but also nice dinner reservations at hotel restaurants and then normal cafe and buffet style restaurants. The entertainment staff was the best and most fun hotel staff i have met to date. Also, the many bars within the hotel were great and the bartenders were entertaining, funny, and nice. Overall, when we go back to cancun, we will stay at the GR solaris again. One thing i will say slightly negative is NOT about the hotel at all --> it is to tell everyone that the Spirit airlines were terrible. They charge you for every little thing (including carry-ons, water on the plane, etc.) and because of that, their "low fares" mean nothing and end up being the same price as other airline fares.

It was okayPosted Mar 7, 2014
The hotel is ok it was not great, this was my 4th time in cancun first time at GR, the alcohol selection was limited at best, the bars closed at only 1am, there was no onsite club/disco, the restaurants were not great and only one out of all was reservation only, (better food) the rest were buffet style. 1st 3days the breakfast buffet had no bacon! So overall at a cheap price this hotel would be worth it but dont expect to be dazzled. As for the location no walk to downtown cancun from this place...

Worst Resort I've Ever Stayed AtPosted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: The staff.
Cons: Needs up dating.
The staff was wonderful! It's old and needs up dating. Rooms were musty. Toilets took several flushings to do it's job. The toilet paper holder kept falling apart. This was in both rooms when we asked to be moved to another room. You could hear what was going on in the rooms next to us. Must have no installation between the walls. I'm not one to complain but I felt it was a a bad experience. On a scale of 1 to 10. I'd give it a 2. If it wasn't for the staff why would people spend this kind of money when there are so many other nice resorts. I've been to many and none were as bad as this. Not even close.
