Well run and maintained hotel with beautiful beachPosted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Size, location, food, staff
Cons: Beds were a little small, and slight musty smell if the A/C was on too low.
Location: Beautiful beach. Otherwise, we rarely left the resort.
The Golden Parnassus is really a gem of a hotel. It is somewhat dwarfed by the monstrosities around it, but that only accentuates the intimate feel of the hotel. The staff really get to know you, and care about your experience. They work extremely hard to keep the hotel in top condition, and it shows. The beach is beautiful, and not crowded, with plenty of sand and lots of beach and pool chairs. The drinks were good, and the bartenders would make anything you liked. The best part of the trip, though, was the food. It was hard to decide where and what to eat, because everything was so good. The snack bar with the burgers, chicken sandwiches, chips, cheese sauce, guacamole, and chili was great, but the french fries were out of this world. I don't know how many times we stopped there just for the fries. There are a wide variety of sit down restaurants, and the buffet breakfast and lunch was also wonderful. The other highlight of the trip was the creme brulee, which was some of the best we have ever had. We also liked the atmosphere, which was adults only, but not a wild party scene, and our room was extremely quiet despite opening onto the lobby, which all the rooms do. We would definitely stay here again.

Great staff. Fun. Resort needs upgradesPosted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: Location on beach, beach and Tiki bars, great staff and activities. People were very pleasant and fun.
Cons: Free weights, fitness room needs updating; more beach chairs; better mattresses; new management
Location: Clubs and bars in Cancun. Aqua World activities
We had a great vacation overall, and this was our second stay there. We want to thank and compliment as terrific staff: Carlos, Jose, Ana, Diego, Eric, Mr. Fonze, Samuel "Sammy Sosa", Israel and Denise from the entertainment staff. They made our vacation a very enjoyable experience. We enjoyed the location right on the beach and the small, intimate resort atmosphere. Food was very good and the activities were fun, service was great. We will certainly return next year. With that said, there are some improvements that are needed: first, the free weights and fitness room needs to be updated. The free weights had chipped paint and the weight machine was outdated and did not work properly. They need to be replaced with new equipment. The treadmills needed servicing also. The mattress in the room should be better quality. We did have difficulty getting beach chairs and had to move them ourselves from the pool area to the beach--I hope that this issue has been corrected because it was very annoying. Lastly, I hope the GP never closes the Tiki Bar again during the prime months for maintenance. This was a disappointment and I hope its issues have been resolved. We did see a noticeable change in the demeanor of the resort from last year--it seemed much more uptight. The new management should NOT overly restrict or limit the staff's ability to entertain--let them do what they do best and keep us repeaters coming back. Great vacation.

We are Club Members and found surprise changes.Posted Mar 17, 2015
Pros: 1)Staff, 2) location, 3) Rooms, 4) cleanliness, inside and out.
Cons: More Chairs and Umbrellas, especially on the beach. Add WiFi service in all areas.
Location: Located in the Hotel zone and able to arrange excursions to most local attractions.
Staff is excellent, (all), most rooms are great, if the beach and pool is your thing, lagoon rooms are fine an upgrade to Ocean view, make sure that you can see the ocean, beach and pool area instead of the roof top and that you are in an area that is less noisy. There are not enough lounges and hotel rules require that no lounges be reserved by just placing towels and personal items and then leaving between sun set and 8 AM. This was O.K. with me , as I would go place towels on the four lounges at around 5 AM and then stay with them until relieved by another of our foursome or until 8 AM.

Would go again !Posted Mar 13, 2015
Beach and pool was great. This was the 5th all inclusive in Cancun area we have stayed at. It was one of 2 smaller ones which we do prefer. Lots of fun activities going on all day which was nice which provided more interaction of guests. The only negative I would have was the rooms were very basic but clean..loved the balcony..glad we upgraded to ocean view ! The hotel overall just needs an update. Also it was the only one that did not have wi-fi / internet which was a negative. The food and service at the restaurants were all good.

we have stayed here before and will come back. The food is good and very clean. the only downfall no free wifi, not enough pillows for a king size bed and the tv would turn off constantly.

Beautiful location!Posted Mar 9, 2015
The food was wonderful. Cruise quality. And we didn't have to make reservations for dinner or wait for an available table at all.
