LOVE CANCUN!Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: ALL STAFF WERE FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS, AND HELPFUL.
Cons: BOOKED FOR A KING BED AND GOT 2 FULL BEDS X 4 NIGHTS, THEN FINALLY ABLE TO CHANGE TO A KING. MY HUSBAND IS 6'1, THE FULL SIZE WAS SHORT.
Location: MANY THINGS TO DO. THINGS ARE BECOMING MORE COMMERCIALIZED AND PRICES REFLECT IT. ALL INCLUSIVE SHOULD INCLUDE FREE OR BETTER PRICING FOR EXCURSIONS
VERY RELAXING, PLEASANT ENVIRONVENTMENT, PLENTY OF FOOD CHOICES

Don't do it.Posted Jul 15, 2014
Cons: Everything, from the condition of the lobby to the customer service.
Location: Did not stay long enough to find out.
In a nutshell: while waiting 4 plus hours for our room to be ready, watched a soccer game in their bar that was dirty and dingy (Sixties), had the toilet overflow in the lobby bathroom, had a couple tacos made for lunch which were put together by a gentleman's bare (yes, no gloves) hands, and then only to be given a dirty and musty room which we did not reserve and told that they had nothing else available unless we wanted to pay for an upgrade. After getting Expedia involved, they offered to move us to their sister hotel (Great Parnussus) which we gladly accepted, only to be told that despite them having a shuttle, we would need to pay for a taxi since luggage was not allowed on the shuttle. Needless to say, I have absolutely nothing positive to say about this hotel. The Great Parnussus, however, was comfortable despite a broken air conditioning system. Also, if you have kids, was very family oriented and lots of activities.

The DecisionPosted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Location, security, appearance, cleanliness, and most of the staff.
Cons: Food- The buffet was OK for breakfast, mediocre for lunch. Only two of the restaurants out of the 4 onsite were OK. Institutional food service.
Location: GREAT location, walking or bus distance from all the major venues. .

Great all inclusive in cancunPosted Jul 8, 2014
I have been to cancun 12 times in the last 20 years. One if the best places to stay if u want an all inclusive. The food was good , buffet was great and the service was fantastic..2 employees stand out. Fonzie at the outside bar near the pool. One if the top bartenders I've met in cancun the last 20 years. Make sure you ask for a coco loco.. And take care of him!!! He will for you . And Alex from Aqua tours.. The man!!!! Can't miss him, looks like a Samoan .. Those are his words so don't send the hate mail..!!! He was professional , nice, not pushy, informative , brother from another mother.. Great guy, book your excursions thru him, he is by the pool .. True gentlemen, hope he reads this . Kim and I had a great time. Will go back..

EnjoyablePosted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Nightlife and Beach
Cons: Food, Food, and Food
Location: Steps away from the beach, Take the bus into town.
Enjoyable but the food was not very good. The bar tenders rocked the place. If we book this place again Fonzy and Carlos will be the reason why.

Great Budget Cancun Vacation!Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The public areas of the hotel were very clean and well kept. The staff works hard! The beach is awesome! Lots of beach volleyball games!
Cons: The guest rooms were a little dated and could use some updating. The GP/Expedia booking process is broken: a reservation should guarantee a room type.
Location: Jet ski and para-sail vendors are readily available on the beach. There is good snorkeling in the area,as well as adventure parks and Mayan ruins.
My wife and I visited the Golden Parnassus in June 2014 for an anniversary trip and overall we had a great time! The restaurants are good, especially Shangri La. The grounds are well kept and the view of the ocean is amazing from most areas. Plan to hang out at the pool for more activity and socializing, or for more quiet, the beach is a good choice. We only had one major issue with the resort: Upon check in, we were told that our room was not ready yet and they were going to "upgrade" us from a lagoon view to an ocean view. I made sure to ask that the new room had 1 King bed like we reserved and we were assured it did. When we got to the room, however, it had 2 Queen beds and, as it was on the south side on the 2nd floor, the ocean view was largely obstructed by the rooftop of the restaurant below. We were told that reservations through Expedia did not guarantee a bed type, only a view preference, and that the hotel was full and the soonest we could get a 1 King bed room was the next day. We were a little annoyed, but the real annoyance came that evening when we tried to turn in early after a long day of travel. Since it was a Saturday, there was a wedding dance on the 2nd level patio at the resort next door, which ended up being like 30 feet from our balcony. The hotel patio doors are NOT soundproof so we felt like we were at the wedding dance until the music ended around midnight. For a quieter stay, book a lagoon view room. We were much happier after we moved.
