Second time there - won't be the last!Posted Nov 30, 2013
Pros: No reservations at the restaurants, adults only, clean rooms, pool area and FABULOUS FOOD!!!
Cons: A swim-up bar might be nice.
Location: Able to catch the local bus into town to shop for less than $1.00 each way.
This all-inclusive, adult-only resort is small - only 6 floors, which makes it small enough to meet people, get to know the waiters and staff, and make new friends. One of the selling points for us was no need to make reservations at any of the restaurants. Standing in line for an hour or more and trying to decide where and when to eat for the whole stay is very restricting!! Also you can catch the shuttle on the hour that goes to the sister hotel - Grand Parnassus - and try any of the restaurants and ameneties there. The first trip there was in Feb 2011 and just returned this November. Both times the weather was great - 80ish. We will be back!!

Amazing hotel on beach side!Posted Nov 27, 2013
Such an amazing hotel, amaIng staff, clean + comfortable room, amazing food (never got sick from any food in the hotel), spa was great, massages were super nice, activities were fun, 24 hour room service, outdoor bar, and as you leave the hotel through the back you hit the swimming pool then steps onto the white sand beach! I recommend this place and I will be going back! Also an expedia agent there inside to help book tours etc.

Very nice comfortable hotel, excellent locationPosted Nov 24, 2013
Pros: Smaller resort, less people and beautiful beach front! Staff was great, food & drinks were very good! No sales people hassling you at all.
Cons: Internet access at no additional cost! Coffee makers in the room. Cold bottled water. Pillows in your room... you should not have to ask for them.
Location: excellent location on the beach... easy access to bus. Highly recommend ocean front room... sunrise is incredible!
This hotel was very nice! It's very small compared so a lot of the "resorts" on hotel zone but has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. There is no reservations for dinner, which I thought was nice so you go where you want to go and eat when you want to eat and we never had to wait to be seated at any of the restaurants. The food was much better here than the last resort I stayed at and the staff was very nice and helpful. We had six people in our party and everyone felt comfortable and well feed. Drinks were pretty good as well! My suggestion.... bring your own drinking cup! The cups they serve are small and go down pretty fast. They will make drinks in your own cup for you! The hotel was very clean and I only saw one bug outside the entire week. The best thing I would say about this resort is it's small and there were not a ton of people so no lines or crowds. The worst thing is you have to pay for internet access...

Great staff in an OK resortPosted Nov 23, 2013
Pros: The staff was always great and attentive.
Cons: Service for out of the ordinary issues. Leaking was prominent everywhere when it rained for awhile.
Location: The location is obviously right on the beach, which was great. As usual we could walk to a bus stop within a couple minutes and get a ride to anywhere
The good: The staff was wonderful when handling day-to-day issues. The serving staff was especially nice and courteous. Even the greeting staff was great throughout our stay helping us find things to do and places to go. The food at most of the restaurants was great, Pier 12 was a favorite as well as sumo. The barn was okay, though most everything came out over-done. The Shangri-la wasn't bad either, though we only went there once. The drink service was great, I found no need to get a larger cup as they would allow me to order 4 drinks for 2 people the whole time. I found that good tipping at the bar meant faster service the next time around (if you're going to be in one place for awhile.) The resort was very clean, and well-maintained. Even though we were there in the off-season they were constantly cleaning and maintaining. The cleaners were great as well, we never had any issues getting new towels and the bed made. The sheets were aging, but acceptable. The bad: There wasn't too much wrong with our stay, but it did seem that there were some issues in handling things that were out of the ordinary. Upon our arrival we were "upgraded" to an ocean-side room (overbooked I assume), but the downside was that we were given two full size beds instead of a single larger bed. This made sleeping with 2 people fairly uncomfortable. There was an issue with a leak over one of the beds, after informing the front desk, we never saw any attempt to fix it.

super hotel, adults onlyPosted Nov 18, 2013
Cons: Free wi-fi would be the only thing I would want to be improved it was difficult not being able to be in touch with family the rates were high.
Location: They offer several excursions to book the mall was within walking distance but honestly we are there for the sun and beach.
Super hotel seconds from the beach all inclusive adults only hotel. The staff is the absolute best I have ever dealt with, Every year we travel to Cancun and every year we know that the Golden Parnassus is where we will stay. The food is great there is a steak house, a Japanese restaurant, Seafood, and for lunch and breakfast a buffet. They also have an outdoor grill that stays open which offers burgers, fries, and nachos if you just want a snack.

Nice hotel. Well kept beach and pool area.Posted Nov 16, 2013
Pros: It is an older hotel but well maintained.Staff is friendly and attentive. Restaurants were very good.Lots of activities to choose from.
Cons: Paradise rest. should be open later for guests who do not want a sit down dinner. Food at The Breeze not so appetizing. The atrium is a bit noisey.
Location: Hotel is in the middle of the hotel strip. Shopping near by. Many excurtions to choose from.
This was our first time visiting Cancan. We took a one day excursion to tulum, where we did the zip line, rappel, and snorkeling which was very exciting. Spent much time on the beach and at the pool. This hotel has plenty of activities day and night.

Golden Parnassus Review (limited)Posted Nov 15, 2013
Cons: Not applicable
Location: Closer to attractions than the Great Parnassus.
Booked the Golden Parnassus. Upon arrival, was told that they had water leaks and we couldn't stay there. Same happened to 2 other couples we were traveling with. Heard that they say that when they over-book, not sure. Disappointed that we couldn't be there. We were moved to the Great Parnassus (LOTS of kids, also not exactly the same clientele that were at the Golden). Went to the Golden for a day via shuttle. Not quire the variety of restaurants, Golden has a much smaller beach presence than the Great. More palapas at the Great. From one day at the Golden, MUCH preferred the guests there. So, it's a toss up...Golden is a more fun-type place, more intimate; Great has more amenities, not much fun (comparatively) unless you bring your own.
