Had a good time with friends from Canada.

Pros: Overall the staff was great, except for this restaurant. We enjoyed the beach front pool and bar.
Cons: Your entertainment needs a lot of improvement.
Location: The location was good and close to shops
Our experience was good, except for one problem we had at the Shangrala Restaurant regarding their shoe policy, they were not consistent and felt we were not treated fairly. We felt the hostess wanted money to allow us in. Very dissappointed in this restaurant. They finally let us in, but felt very uncomfortable because it seems all the employees new about his shoes and kept walking by and wispering to each other. We also saw two girls in flip flops and they were fine to be in. Very dissappointed.

Fun hotel, great entertainment and beach

We had a great time at this resort. The entertainment during the day was great (beer pong, volleyball, water basketball, etc) and the pool and beach were beautiful. We thought it was a great price and will be back again.

hotel overbooks so you have to stay elsewhere

Posted Mar 30, 2014
i love the staff at this small adults only resort. i have been here 5 times in the past and love the small friendly atmosphere. however, they frequently overbook their hotel and do not alert guests until after arrival that they have bumped them to stay at their sister resort down the road which is a large impersonal family resort. i like the golden for a reason and booked there because that is where i wanted to stay. we will not be back in the future because of this. next year i will be looking for my new favourite place to go in cancun

Great beach and staff

Posted Mar 19, 2014
Pros: Beach, Tiki and beach bars, staff.
Cons: The bumping should be eliminated or you should be notified before you arrive so that you can change your hotel.
Location: Aquaworld is a ten minute walk for tours and excursions. The bar and shopping district is close also.
Beware of the bump. The Great is not as good as the Golden, which is where they will want to put you. Too many kids and its not as comfortable. The staff at the Golden were great, especially the Carlos and Jose at the Tiki Bar and the entertainment and organized games staff--very engaging and worked very hard to be accommodating. The food was good and we had some very good meals, again served by great staff. Its a very comfortable environment with plenty to do. The beach was fabulous and the people we met were great. Its a small yet comfortable resort, where you can party if you want to or relax if that's your choice.

Best Spring Break Ever!!!

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: Good beds, great food, nice staff, beautiful beaches, wonderful guests, entertainment.
Cons: Hmmm.... I don't really know. :)
Location: The resort was so engaging that we didn't really leave the grounds. There were several beach vendors which was pretty cool.
My wife and I decided on Thursday night to book a last minute trip to Cancun. We were upgraded to first class on the plane there and upgraded to a room with an ocean view. We were greeted with drinks as soon as we arrived at the resort. After we dropped our bags off at the room, we went down to one of the beach bars and met a ton of nice people. Then we danced for two hours! We had so much fun the entire trip. I played my guitar on the beach. We ran along the beach. We partied until 2am. We played pool and beach volleyball. The food was great and the service was excellent. We really enjoyed the fact that the resort seemed to appeal to people in their 30s, 40s, 50s and older (our kind of crowd). The day of our departure, we lounged out on the beach for a couple of hours before we had to pack our bags to leave. The bell boy took our bags down to the lobby for checkout. We went back down to one of the bars and were surprised when they brought out a capuchin monkey! We laughed as they took pictures of us with the monkey on our shoulders. We couldn't have asked for a better trip. This one rivaled our honeymoon, and that was in the Bahamas! Thank you so much for everything you did to make our trip perfect!
