Very good experience

Posted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: room clean and good food
Cons: arrival, not to bother people about their company and how to invest to it.
Location: very easy and everything close to it.
First time in an all inclusive hotel and it's was a blast for all of us (wife and 12 years old daughter) the only bad experience was at the arrival when the sales man caught us for a 4h spetch on how to invest and make money in their company. Otherwise, food delicious, beach clean, nothing to complain about after this. Staid for 5 days

Bad experience

Posted Jul 20, 2015
the first problem was that the beach area looked much better in the photos, as did the pools than they did in real life. Then - We had issues with the fire alarm going off all night and early morning, and you can literally hear everything going on outside the room in the hallway so I really struggled with putting our baby to sleep and keeping her asleep. We also chose this hotel hoping to be able to use the babysitting services(as they advertised) to take a break to exolore Cancun and go snorkeling, etc. But the day we were scheduled to go snorkeling they told us they couldn't babysit our daughter because she was 7 months old (they had inquired about her age the first day but didn't mention that the babysitting services are only for over 1 year old in the beginning). staff was mostly very nice, but when we had problems with the fire alarm and noise we asked to speak to the manager and were hung up on then ignored. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all.

Stay away

First day they messed on 1 of our rooms. We were supposed to be at room 1021, but they told us to go to 1621. We went into the room to check it out before we went to eat but luckily we didn't leave our stuff there because by night time we went back to 1621, the door wouldn't open with our keys then a lady came out of that room and was like what are ya'll doing. So we went down to the lobby and they acted like nothing happened. They just reactivated our cards for 1021. We sweated so much in that hotel. There's literally no AC anywhere in the hotel besides your room. There was only 2 elevators for 10 floors that fits only 7 people max, that's if we squeeze. And what's annoying was that they just let little kids run around each floor pushing buttons so it takes forever to get up and down the elevator. And there's no AC in those elevators either! They gave us a list of restaurants that they have. Some weren't even available within walking distance because it's a chain hotel and since we signed up for the grand we had access to the other restaurants as well but it was no point, we would have to bus to it. There was a restaurant on the list that wasn't even fully renovated yet. They didn't tell us that, they just told us it opens Saturday night and when we came it was still under construction. The food was really limited. We spent more time trying to find a place to eat than anything else when we were there. Another restaurant made us wait an over an hour because they wer

the price is right

The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The hotel (Grand Oasis Pam) only has two small elevators , the capacity is only 7 people per unit and w/ out AC. It was horrible to try and get to your room or the lobby passed 10 , you were literally waiting for an elevator for more than 10-15 minutes and when the elevator would finally arrive it was full capacity. They need more elevators with working AC. The restaurants were delicious but the best was The Agave. The selections were amazing, seafood and stakes. The second best was outdoor restaurant by the pool all seafood. The hotel is walking distance to the fari that takes you to Isla Mujeres, the pirate boat show and the dancer. Easy access to the bus to get you to the nightlife, el mirador ( which is the biggest tourist beach with the cancan sign) and el mercado ( to do some shopping ). They have various bars, indoor and out. The hotel room was well kept with a mini fridge with complimentary drinks that were refilled everyday, except the Gatorade or red bull , which are extra fee along with snacks, chocolate bars , chips etc.. Entertainment at night was fun and great for the entire family. This is very family oriented hotel and you will experience all type of people. Overall the hotel was right for the price.

Ok for the price

The staff is very friendly and the food is very good. The two elevators are smaller than a restroom. Had to use the stairs to get to the 9th floor several times. They charge separately for the safe and Wifi. Didn't like the fact that they exclude children from the balinese beds area by the beach.
