Great kids waterparkPosted Mar 9, 2014
Pros: The pools and the waterpark.
Cons: The food. It was truly very bad.
The kids waterpark and the pools were really wonderful -- better than we expected. Big slides and in good condition. The rooms were clean and had a neat set-up (the bunk beds and the king bed) and the staff was very friendly. The food on the other hand was pretty terrible. It was hard to find something even passable to eat. It was also hard to get information on what was included in the "all inclusive", when the restaurants were open, room service, etc... In order to get any of this information, we had to sit through a sales pitch.

Beach was awesomePosted Mar 8, 2014
Pros: Very family oriented. Very safe for children (ages 12, 10, 8). I would not stay here if it was an adult vacation but great for families.
Cons: The only lunch "real food" didn't open until 12:30. The main eating area was closed from 11:30 to 12:30 and the pool snack area only had few options.
Location: Hotel area, bus stop right outside hotel but nothing else right there.
The beach was awesome, bigger waves and clean. There were more people than chairs so I did get up at 6 am every morning to reserve our spot at beach or pool each morning. Lewis from the pool entertainment staff was amazing! From kids activities to adult activities he kept us entertained. The bars were great, plenty to choose from for drinks. The food was the same every day, but many options to choose from. Samurai Japanese restaurant was our favorite evening meal.

Rude Front Desk Manager - Mr. ReyesPosted Mar 6, 2014
Pros: Clean rooms
Cons: More lounge chairs at pool and beach. Larger drink cups, at least serve 12 to 16 ounces instead of only 8 ounces. More seating at kids pool area
I usually am open minded to the many hotel stays I have both for pleasure and for business. I felt the upper management of Expedia and the hotel should know how I felt during check in at the hotel. Expedia had given me a king size ocean view confirmation, but upon arrival the hotel did not have any king beds available. When I checked in they did not inform me of this. Once I arrived to my room, I saw it had two small double beds. My wife and I had our 4 year old son with us who had to sleep between us. When I returned to the front desk, the lady said they did not have any kings and there was nothing she could do about it. I asked for the manager and after some delay Mr. Reyes came to speak with me. He said my travel agency(EXPEDIA) had only "requested" a king bed for me and that request were not a guarantee. I guess if he gave me a smoking, alley view room, that would have been O.K. since I "requested" a non smoking ocean view.. The statement he made" I am going to help you, not because I have to, but only because I want to" really tainted my stay with them. I did get the king after they cleaned one room. Only an additional hour wait. Good service, but a very bad attitude from Mr. Reyes at check in. It is terrible that one manager's action could taint all the hard work and politeness of the other staff.

Great kids clubPosted Mar 4, 2014
Cons: Rooms, beds, wifi
Kids club was great. This was the first time we ever used a kid club at a resort. I felt safe and the staff was great. My kids were asking to go back every day. The check in was fast and prompt. Bell boys very accommodating. My husband needs a fan to sleep and one of the bell boys went back into town to get him a fan and brought it back. My husband did tip him:) The room was clean, beds not so great, but I can sleep anywhere. A little run down, needs some maintenance or remodel. The door to the hallway did not have a kid latch up top, so my kids could open door and go out. I didn't like that at all! Food was good. The chicken strips by the pool are awesome! All the bartenders were great Pool was clean. Not sure if I would go back. I like a little more comfort in my room. The beds need upgrading and the rooms need an overall spruce up. For a family with kids it was great!

Nice hotel, lots of places to swim.Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Huge hotel with a good buffet, lots of food options.
Cons: Food and alcohol choices.
Location: Beach and downtown Cancun where you can swim with the dolphins.
The hotel is huge and the three infinity pools were great. The food was average so not the place to go if you are looking for fine dining. The front desk folks were not very helpful but the bartenders and food service staff were great. The water park was fun for our six year olds but it's on the other side of the hotel and your food and beverage options are extremely limited. The family room was great with bunk beds for the kids and tons of room. The weather and ease of getting around in Cancun was great. Overall really good stay.
MehPosted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Close to beach. Spa was very nice.
Cons: Rooms, food, drink, traffic patterns, pool and beach chairs...
Location: Could take taxi, bus or paid for tour for other activities.
Close to beach, limited facilities. People go & put towels on beach & pool chairs even before dawn, doesn't leave you much seating! Chairs in poor condition as well. Hotel rooms are well worn, need a facelift. Beverage cups so small you had to order 3 for a normal sized drink, I'm pretty sure they water down the adult beverages as well. Food in the Japanese, Big Ben and Manhattan was horrible! Portofino was pretty good as well as the Magnus area. Traffic patterns are difficult to walk around. You feel like you are going in circles. Kids club & pool all the way on the other end of everything else. Staff is friendly. I would not return.

Great family hotel on a nice part of the beachPosted Feb 22, 2014
This is our second time staying at this hotel; we have been meeting up with my family from Pittsburgh as a reunion so we have 5 kids all together. The staff gave the kids a lot of attention and they had activities all day long and into the night for the whole family, which kept the pool and hotel lively and fun. Lots of kids to make friends with for them, too. Great service and the drinks were yummy. A lot of the food in the buffet were really tasty, but it seemd like the restaurant food was not quite as good. Excellent sushi and calamari and tasty breakfast omelets! This isn't a gourment food vacation, but it's definitely a beautiful place to get together and relax. The beach is right there and very clean and swimmable. Life guards are very attentive. We had a great time and the kids are already begging us to go back next year!

If you don't have high expectations...Posted Feb 21, 2014
Cons: Everything could be!
Location: Didn't leave the resort.
Not clean and needs major updating and maintenance. Food was mediocre at best. Little to no nightlife. Housekeeping was basically non-existent. Had a lot more to say, but unfortunately was not able to be specific due to limited space on expedia. My advice would be to spend a few more dollars and review other hotels.

3 star hotel. No more, no less. Duck Dynasty crowPosted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: Pools, Beach, Weather
Cons: Food. Facilities in general. The mini-golf for sure.
Location: Isla Mujeres is a great day trip and not too expensive.
The Great The staff was overall very attentive, happy and helpful. Our kids just loved it. The Good Beach, pools near the beach, economical. The wife and I thought it was OK resort but not likely to return. The Bad Clientele mostly ok with some trashy Euros and American Duck Dynasty type crowd. I know I sound like a jerk. But this isnt the classiest crowd you will find. But not the worst either. Lots of bad tattoos. Oversized folks in undersized swimsuits.

Nice resort where the staff made the differencePosted Feb 18, 2014
This was a nice hotel overall, and even though the decor was a bit tired, it was very clean. There were always staff cleaning the common areas and the room was very clean and bright, nice view of the ocean. Honestly the staff and the quality of food made the big difference. After a couple of days, the staff new our names and what we were planning to order, and would bring us drinks and appetizers unprompted. I was very surprised at the quality and selection of food, and it was not all buffet style. There were several restaurants we enjoyed including a Japanese and a French restaurant that were menu-driven. My two boys (10 and 8) really liked the resort, and we would return again.
