Budget Hotel in a great location!

Posted Jan 22, 2015
Pros: The location. No rental car needed if you stay / hang around the heart of the hotel zone. Many restaurant / eating options. The low cost of the hotel.
Cons: Wifi availability in the rooms would be nice.
Location: The location is in the heart of the hotel zone. There are many restaurants / eating options within walking distance.
I want to preface that I'm used to staying in luxury hotels (former management consultant Marriott platinum status and Hilton Diamond status) because maybe you can relate? This is definitely not a luxury hotel and I knew that going in. I was going to spend 5 days in Cancun filled with activities away from the hotel so I did not want to spend money on an all-inclusive. I only needed a room and bed and that's essentially what I got and I'm happy with it because I'm back home and I don't show signs of bed bugs or other nasty things if you stayed in a dirty hotel. I booked a studio w/ a kitchenette and a king bed. When I checked in, it was a double bed with no kitchenette. It was late so I just went to sleep. I told the front desk the next day after my excursion and they changed my room to what I originally booked for. They tried to call me on the 1st night to tell me but it was my fault that I didn't pick up the phone. They did their job. They're not the friendliest bunch but again, it's a budget hotel so I'm not expecting world class service. (Both) rooms were clean. I slept with the windows open (80's F in January) and it was great. The bathroom is clean and everything worked. No problems. The location is amazing. It's in the heart of the hotel zone. You walk a long driveway's lengths and all the major restaurants, clubs, beach access is right there. There is a huge fancy supermarket minutes away. I didn't need to rent a car at all because the location was awesome.

Cons: improvements in bathrooms, lighting from street to hotel, wifi in room would be nice
Location: lovely beach area just 5 minute walk, nice restaurants at end of drive, terrific new supermarket 1 block away
rooms were nice but very little noise buffer between rooms

Great location.

Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staffs.
Location: Great location, close to everything: Coco Bongo, restaurants, supermarket, bus transit, and the beach...
I had a great time in Cancun, 5 days, 4 nights, booked through Expedia.ca. It's a very nice hotel, close to everything you need. The hotel also has free wifi at the lobby. Thanks for the hotel staffs helping me to find places.

A kitchen but no kitchenette

Posted Dec 10, 2014
Pros: The location.
Cons: The service, hospitality, and honesty of the service from the Cancun Clipper Club.
I booked this knowing the trip advisor reviews so I had a good idea that this place wasn't going to pamper us or be the Paradise Inn some may otherwise expect. Let's face it, this place came at a bargain. However, I still feel inclined to complain because a Kitchenette was promised and we didn't get one. We paid extra for this and ultimately, this added HUNDREDS of dollars to our trip. We had ordered a kitchenette and yes there was a kitchen. However, there wasn't a stove or pots and pans. When I asked about this right after we checked in, I was told by the front clerk, "talk to your booking agent" (Expedia) and that we have a kitchenette and he wasn't sure why everyone complains about this. Yes there was a kitchen and a mini-fridge but no tools to perform the function! The front desk clerk was not helpful nor symathetic. Also, his english was very broken so argument was futile. I have used Expedia in the past for other bookings and they have been pleasant. However, I will never return to this hotel and question wether to use Expedia in the future. Expedia would benefit from removing this hotel from their list of offerings.

Nice hotel in the center of the tourist zone

Posted Dec 4, 2014
Pros: I like the location. Close to everything
Cons: They need to provide balcanys on the rooms so you can sit outside without having to go outside.
Location: The convention center is right across the street and there are many restaurants and bars at the street. You can grab a bus and go to any activities.G
I've stayed at this hotel several times and I like the location. If you prefer a balcony room though forget this hotel. There aren't any available. Also it's on the lagoon side of the street as opposed to the ocean view side. Another thing is that it has four floors and no elevator. I don't mind walking and always stay on the top floor
