“March 2011”

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay. We hope to return. We have already passed the name of the hotel on to another couple traveling to Isla Mujeres.

“Great retreat”

excellent hide-away. Friendly and accommodating staff. The beach and pool are private and upscale. Small but comfortable room. Nice, large and shaded balcony (with chairs and hammock). Beds were a little too soft for our liking.

My husband and I loved this hotel! We stayed in a King room on the first floor and loved every minute of it! Our room was soundproof-didn't hear anyone else staying there! It was our first time to Isla Mujeres and so glad we read reviews on Expedia! Staff was fine-front desk a little grouchy but they did let us check in early upon our arrival (2 hours). Breakfast was fine-best for those who don't eat a lot or expect big presentations-toast, cereal, fruit, coffee etc...Loved the pool although we did have a funny experience our last day. We came back from a snorkeling tour excited for a quiet swim in our pool however when we got to the hotel, there was a pool birthday party with about 30+ kids that lasted about 4 hours. We love children! And were happy to see so many smiling faces, however, we felt like it was inappropriate to have a birthday party at a hotel where we were paying to have privacy and relaxation-and access to the pool. I guess I am saying-be ready for anything and have a back-up plan. I loved staying on that side of the island where we could hear the waves crashing against the rocks. Easy access to North Beach swimming/snorkeling (outside the Avalon) and shops. We found the best restaurants off of Hidalgo (the main strip) so don't be afraid to veer off a little. Found a golf car rental through Edgar Sosa for $33 from 9-5PM and that was the best dayrate we saw-really enjoyed driving on the island and the island in general!

“Cozy secret”

The main beaches are on the north and West sides of the Island. This is just around the corner facing East. What's great about it is you get the rising sun in the morning, and almost complete privacy the rest of the day. Short, charming walk to town. Simple and clean rooms, tasty morning breakfast, and a cool breeze blowing through the lobby. If you're looking for a big, American style hotel, keep looking. If you want something with charm and privacy, this is it.

“Charming, Friendly, Best for Adults”

The Expedia feedback about this hotel helped us have no significant surprises. Not fancy, but charming. The rooms - not huge, but very adequate w/ picturesque palm tree framed, ocean view decks. The beach front pool area has an tropical serene feeling. Great chaise lounges, with lots of little areas for sunning and reading. A quiet hotel - w/ mostly adult guests. The one drawback for our crew was that the hotel and pool only gets morning sun ( until about 1:00 pm) The small reef out front scored my husbands best snorkeling of our trip - tons of fish! Walk to downtown for lots of dining options and vendors are a little cheaper and far less aggressive than Cancun.

“Great Isla getaway”

If you've never been to IM, you may be disappointed with this hotel. There are no bells and whistles and the rooms are spartan. However, the beach views and pool make up for it. We had a ground floor room that opened to the pool area. It was heavenly. One complaint would be that the rooms only have one small window (unless you are in a jacuzzi suite), so it's hard to enjoy the view without being on the patio. The hotel is convenient to centro, but secluded. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“Lovely hotel for a chilled holiday”

This hotel exceed all our expectations, it was walking distance to everything, but in a more quiet and private part of the island, which was really lovely. Its straw roof and wooden walkways gave it some authenticity, and made it charming and cozy. The room itself was lovely, spacious, clean and tidy and beautiful decorated with the really nice towel folding everyday. It was also a highlight to sleep with the windows open to feel the breeze and hear the waves crashing in the beach. Breakfast was nothing special, but it was nice to wake up for some fruit and yummy coffee anyways. The Internet didn't work inside the room, so you had to sit in the lobby to use it, which was a bit annoying, although the lobby wasn't that bad of a place to hang.

“Great Beach Front but Poor service”

Mixed feelings with this hotel. I feel this is more of a getaway private, quiet hotel for couples and couples only. Nice location to get around in the middle of the city and you can rent golf carts and an awesome quiet beach front. But note: 1. it is definitely not a beautiful as it looks like on the picture. 2. Very humid with poor ventilation. If you are expecting luxury, five star you are at the wrong place. 3. The staff are dreadful with zero customer service and an ego driven owner. 4. The close the hotel doors after 11pm, hence if you come in late, you have to wait minutes for the slow doorman who speaks no word of english. 5. We hated our stay so badly we had to cancel our reservation and booked a new one at a 5 star in Cancun for about the same price (Best Decision ever) That being said, I am a young professional male in my late 20s and went there with my buddy. If you are an older couple looking for something on the downlow you may enjoy it better than we did but do not spend more than 2 days or you might get bored.
