Love the local flavor and friendliness of Hotel PlPosted Jan 27, 2015
Loves the whole "ma and pa" feel of this little hotel. NOT a luxury accommodation. Clean and quaint and super friendly. Love walking out the front door right onto Hidalgo St...the main drag/pedestrian walk. Very quiet at night even though it is right where the nightlife is. Would definitely go back. Price is right!

Hotel AlmendrosPosted Jan 23, 2015
We had a relaxing stay at this hotel. The microwave , frig. and toaster were really nice to have in the room. The beds are very firm! The room was clean and comfortable. We had a balcony facing the street side but with the patio door closed and curtains pulled the music wasn't too loud for us to sleep or watch TV. It was very entertaining to sit on the balcony and watch the crowds! We loved being in the middle of everything. Great food, entertainment, and little store were all just out the front door. Nice pool and courtyard in the middle of the rooms. The employees were all very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely stay there again.

Good hotel, no frills but exactly what you needPosted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: Pool, close to everything
Cons: Staff at front desk could be more helpful
Great for couples, singles or families looking to pay a bit less but to have all you need for a fun vacation

HotelPosted Jan 7, 2015
Cons: Rooms being available at check in time
Location: The best bar we found was KoKo Nuts, just a couple doors down. Very fun
It was ok, but they did not have our room ready until 6:30pm, had to just walk around for three and half hours, not happy. We also has a balcony room street side, very loud music until 3:00am. The hotel is right down town and very easy to walk to everything, but get a room on the pool side.

Hotel has good location but thats about itPosted Dec 24, 2014
Pros: Its location is central in downtown Isla Mujers
Cons: The foul smell of rotten wood, lack of hot water in all of the rooms, the Wifi in the hotel
Location: close to Playa Norte which is the nicest beach in Isla Mujeres
Me and my wife checked in the hotel on December 18th 2014. Once you enter the room, there is a foul smell of wet wood. The bathroom has very bad lighting and is very dark even when you turn on the light. To our surprise, the shower had no hot water. When we complained, the hotel staff tried to explain us that this is a normal temperature for water in Mexico. That is not true as we have been in many hotels in Mexico and always had hot water. The air conditioner was leaking water on the floor of the room and we needed to leave a towel on the floor and replace it every few hours. In addition, the Wifi was disabled for 2 days out of the 3 we were there and the staff there was clueless about how to resolve this. Overall this was a bad experience and we will not return to this hotel in our next visit to Isla Mujeres. We felt that the hotel doesn't really cares about it's clients experience and don't appreciate their business

Hotel Stay on Isla MujeresPosted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: The location and friendly service.
Cons: The only thing I would comment on was the fact that the phone didn't work in either room we stayed in - we just ended up walking to the Front Desk.
Location: You are in the middle of everything - many restaurants with great live entertainment each night and only 2-3 blocks from the beach.
We recently enjoyed a lovely week at the Hotel Plaza Almendros on Hildago Street. It's a small hotel with fantastic staff. We aren't extremely fluent in Spanish and they did a great job translating my broken Spanglish. Every request was answered with a smile and 'si!'. While there weren't many extra perks you find a the larger resorts - we had absolutely everything we needed in our room. Nice open floorplan, kitchenette so we didn't have to eat out every meal, large walk-in shower, and lovely balcony overlooking the busy street. Most of the rooms are on the courtyard/pool area, which is very nice as well. We originally had one of those and decided to switch partway through our stay to people watch on the street side. There is a lot of hustle & bustle throughout the day, so if you need quiet then definitely stay on the courtyard. We didn't mind the noise so it was perfectly fine for us. There are a few bars that can get quite noisy in the late night/early morning hours - so definitely keep this in mind when you're making requests on your reservation. We didn't really use the pool, nor did we see anyone else in there - it was well kept and clean the whole time, we were just too close to the beach to not want to make the walk. For the price we paid and the proximity - I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It was a fraction of the beach hotel prices! Yes, the amenities are limited, but it does offer complimentary WIFI which was great. Loved it and will return!

Clean hotel in the heart of north islaPosted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: very clean, helpful staff, wifi available in the room, clean pool.
Cons: the kitchenette could have been a little better equipped and stocked, and almost no counter space at all.
The hotel is on the main street, close to everything you need. Lobby, rooms, pools etc always clean. Prices in November were excellent. Beds were quite firm. Kitchenette consisted of a microwave, mini fridge, toaster, coffee maker and doubles of mugs, plates bowls, cutlery...very little counter space. This is as it was advertised. (although a little hot plate would have been great) I would book again but would be more prepared to bring a few of the basics...salt, sugar, coffee/filters, scrub brush, dishsoap...etc.

Spotless, close to beach, Quiet, nice poolPosted Oct 27, 2014
Bathroom light was burnt out when I arrived and couldn't get the fan going, but these were immediately attended to. Wifi in room was quite reliable. It'd be great to have a comfortable arm chair or sofa in the room to watch TV , or at least cushions on bed. I was totally satisfied with my room, will definitely go back
