Nice from the outside

The hotel was far from the beach but that was no problem the AC barely worked. The windows were broken & worst park that our sheets never got changed! They did our bed with the same sheets and I know this bc I stained it with makeup and it was never changed. We only got towels the first 2 days. The elevator was beyond small and stuffy. The staff was nice but I will never stay here again

One night stay with wonderful breakfast.

Pros: Art, food, staff
Cons: Nothing
Location: Restaurants are pricey but it is 2 block from The Palapas - an outdoor food court with delicious and inexpensive local Mexican food.
Fun decor, nice staff, room was quaint. Pool and outside area pretty. Breakfast super with great service. We recommend this hotel!

Great stay, great place, great history

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Everything. The staff, the d├ęcor. It was very fun.
Cons: The pillows could be replaced.
Location: It was in an area that we weren't sure of. They did have a concert/festival the night we stayed there and the people were friendly.
We stayed here during our last stay in Cancun and I was very happy we did. The history that is all over the walls was absolutely amazing to look at. The staff was extremely helpful. Our first suite had a tv that didn't work. Within 5 minutes of them trying to fix it they moved us to another suite. It was very fast and quick service. We needed more toilet paper and after calling the front desk we had it in less than 5 minutes. It was just amazing service and great people to be around. Very fun atmosphere and very relaxing. We will definitely stay here again if we needed to!

Innercity hotel in disrepair caters to locals.

Misleading information - NOT near beach, little English spoken, room air conditioning poor, door dead bolt broken, wouldn't give more than 2 towels for 3 people, location innercity - not for Tourists....more for local business travelers.

The hotel is a bit old. The room wasn't clean. They didn't change my bed sheet for the whole week.

As Expected

Pros: see above.
Cons: As mentioned by others, towel service could be improved.
Location: bus service makes almost everywhere (including beach) easily accessible. A number of different restaurants are nearby.
Pleasant, helpful staff. Great location. R-1, R-2 bus routes (beach, etc.) within blocks of hotel, as is main bus station (ADO)-(took trip to Tulum -Mayan Ruins from there-good experience).

Nice hotel quirky and fun

A couple of nights spent at Xbalamque were great value, it's a little oasis in a busy part of downtown Cancun. Any easy walk to local squares with great food, banks and the bus station.
