No Regrets, mexiGO here!Posted Nov 27, 2013
If you're having any doubts... Don't. You've found the place you should stay. Maybe I'll see you there, because I'm making a trip/stay here an annual occurrence after my vacation last week.

Best bang for your buck!Posted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: The service is great! The shows are great! The excursion setup is easy. Our wedding was perfect!
Cons: The check-in and check-out process could be a little smoother.
Location: The location is only about 20mins away from the airport. You can easily take a bus to other places to eat and shop outside the resort.
This hotel/resort is phenomenal. We have stayed here twice already. My only hope is that under the new name/management, the quality does not change (unless you can improve on phenomenal!) The location is very close to the airport, so you don't have to travel far. The beach access is practically right outside your door, with beautiful sand and water. The service is top-notch. They have a variety of places to eat. There are also tons of activities and shows that allow you to never have to leave the resort. If you do want to leave, the location allows you to take a bus or cab to other places very easily and quickly. We had our wedding here and our coordinator was awesome. The whole package deal is unbeatable!

nice beachPosted Nov 20, 2013
Pros: The hotel had a large beach. They had comfortable beds on the beach and around the pool. We had a corner oceanview room, and the room was great.
Cons: They need to have a better variety of food on the menus, and at the buffet. The drinks were watered down.
Location: The hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport. There seems to be a lot to do in the area, but we didn't leave the hotel.
We arrived on Monday, when the hotel was still the Royal. It changed to the Hyatt on Friday. Hyatt seems to be making a lot of changes, and perhaps whatever I complain about will be rectified with Hyatt. I've been to many AI hotels in Mexico. I found the buffet lunch selection boring. The other restaurant has good food, but a small menu. Would like more selection if staying for a week. Went to Maria Marie early in the week when it was the Royal. Had delicious lamb, and my husband had duck. Hyatt changed the menu to Italian. Dry ravioli, small menu. Hit or miss food. The staff was very nice, but they seemed overwhelmed with the change. The drinks were watered down. I actually saw the bartender try to serve me my drink with just cranberry and orange...no vodka. When I confronted him, he said he forgot! Enough negative...now the positive...We upgraded to a corner oceanview room. The room was large with a nice tub for 2 and a wonderful shower. Comfortable bed and stocked minibar. The pool is large and there are plenty of seats. Some days the water was too cold to go in. Would have been nice if it was heated. They have activities around the pool, and the waiter comes around often to ask if you'd like a drink. They even have someone just to clean your sunglasses....love that. The spa is very nice. Has a great massage. Also, took a pilates class. Also, very nice. Hyatt had several employees there speaking with the guests. (including me) They seem very interested in feedback.

The Hyatt - The former RoyalPosted Nov 19, 2013
I booked this hotel thinking I was staying at THE ROYAL, on the high recommendation of a friend. THE ROYAL did indeed live up to my expectations for ONE DAY. The 2nd day into my trip THE HYATT took over ...... and The Lush "Royal Imprinted" Towels are now Gone & replaced with small, low end towels, the wonderful "Royal" food (mexican/french fusion) is now gone replaced with a "nothing special" northern italian cuisine. The other on site restaurants food quality (even the coffee) & menu's changed the day after the takeover happened. Looks like this hotel is now a standard "Hyatt" vacation.

Pretty hotel, gorgeous beach, food not so greatPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: Building was pretty. Room was nice. Beach was gorgeous. Staff was friendly.
Cons: Food was not good. Service improvements (clean up/turn down during scheduled windows, write down requests when we call so we don't have keep asking
The hotel itself is very pretty. Our room was lovely. We did not, however, receive many of the things we were supposed to with our package. We requested them on multiple occasions, but they never came. Nothing that was a deal breaker, but it was disappointing. Aromatherapy candles, special pillows, bathrobes. Room service regularly forgot pieces of our meal, again, which was fine but disappointing. We went to the bar to get water and turned our own beds down, but this is not what I expected from a 4.5-5 star hotel. The food was not good. It was not bad, but it was certainly not worth the price paid for a 4.5-5 star hotel. Limited options. Fair quality. Bland. The alcohol choices were plentiful. Beaches were lovely. Beach chairs/beds were nice. Towels were big. Just disappointing over all, as we expected much more from a 4.5-5 star hotel.

Grand view of the turquoise beach.Posted Nov 15, 2013
Pros: Very romantic and great games of beach volleyball.
Cons: I was expecting authentic Mexican food, which did not exist there.
Location: Awesome location!
Besides being an incredibly stunning hotel, every room gives you a grand view of the beautiful beach. The staff works hard to make sure your every need is met. So much fun trying new and different drinks. Free wi-fi is very nice. Best Day concierge was a big help booking a great scuba diving excursion. So bring a wad of $1 bills to keep the wait staff happy, and enjoy your stay at The Royal!

Location: Located right across the street from the Flamingo Shopping Mall, Margaritaville, Bubba Gumps, etc.

Pros: The all inclusive features are great. The pools are great. The beach front is great.
Cons: We don't need to be sold to with options for discounts on services if we attend informational meetings at sister resorts.
Location: Within the tourist district so mostly other resorts but the nearby outdoor shopping mall was really nice.
